Hello! Thanks for your feedback! 🤗🥁 The Pearl Compact Traveler Kit is a very nice small drumset. I hope you like this kit too?!? I play it my street percussion acts and sometimes in my unplugged duo! Best wishes, Chris!
Hello Alexander! Thanks four your feedback. Pearl`s compact traveler kit includes a 18" bass drum and 10" snare mounted off a 3/8 post. Take a look at the pictures on the internet - there are some differences to other snares, but it sounds like a piccolo snare! Best wishes, Chris!
@@DrummerChristianHoffe Hi there! Thank you for you answer, did you find out any informations about triggering the drums? I’ll go to the music store tomorrow and I’ll figure out if with my triggers it’s possible! Let’s stay in touch!
Hello Filippo! I can't install my ddrum-bd-trigger because of the big wood-rim behind the normal rim of the drum head. I think with smaller Trigger-Systems it works. With my old contact-trigger on the drumhead it works. If you want to play heavy foot ostinatos or fast double kicks i think it's complicated because of the vibrations of this compact kit.🤔 Best wishes, Chris!
@@DrummerChristianHoffe Ciao! I heard of that problem with the BD rim. I’ll get to the store with my trigger which has slightly different and bigger shape and hopefully it’ll work. Thank you for your feedbacks.
I think trigger system like this one would definitely work: www.musicstore.de/de_DE/EUR/SKYGEL-E-Trix-Trigger-Set/art-DRU0040563-000?campaign=GShopping/DE&ProgramUUID=rrLAqJarLjMAAAFl.gZyjI8h&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_7KXBhCoARIsAPdPTfgMGrmmdGVERfzO5PveHbnxVJ_7hjvet-jTuzfCOqw5L_WTeX1-7esaAo9VEALw_wcB Let's stay in touch! I love this kind of weird little cocktail kit and get such a kick out of seeing a great drummer bleeding every last bit of juice out of such a limited sonic pallete. Amazing playing as ever, Christian! Also, the kit sounds HUGE! Is that the way you've mic'd it? Do you think if a guitarist set up just the kick drum, they could thump along in an acoustic setting? It looks like just a skin on a ring from this angle!
Thank you for the great feedback! I'm happy!🤗 The drums look really funny! In this Handyclip you hear the "live" sound of the pearl compact traveler kit! I play it in a duo with acoustic guitar! Best wishes, Chris! ruclips.net/video/YeIxBAZFgXk/видео.html
Hello! Thanks for your feedback! My hi hats are masterwork resonant series (12"). I also play 14" masterwork resonant and iris hihats! The Pearl Compact Traveler Kit is amazing!🥁 Best wishes, Chris!
I have the same drums and it is spectacular. I think there is also a good job with the mic. Could you tell me the model of the kick drum microphone? 🙏😊
Hello! Thanks for your feedback! It's a t-bone bd 300! I buy this microphone set for my practice kit at home. Here's the link: m.thomann.de/de/the_tbone_bd300.htm
In this Video i play 12er Masterwork Resonant Hihats! I think 12er or 13er Hihats (crisp sound) are very good with the pearl compact traveler kit. It's a matter of taste!🤔 Best wishes, Chris!
Hello!🤗 The bass drum head is very loosely in order to achieve as much bass as possible. The snare is not tuned high either. Here is a Handy-Video with the "Live-Sound" of my Pearl Compact Traveler Kit. Greetings, Chris!🤗 ruclips.net/video/YeIxBAZFgXk/видео.html
Hello! I think that should work! However, the set will probably start to shake. I'll give it a try. It also depends on how hard the drummer steps on the pedal! Best wishes, Chris!
@@DrummerChristianHoffe no sorry, was hoping you might as my wife is looking at this as an option for a mini home practice set up where volume and space is an issue
I have an Edrum to practice in the evening at home. The volume of the Pearl Traveler kit can be compared to an acoustic set. With Mesh Heads there will be not much tone - no resonance!
Hello! Thank you! I didn't muffled the bass drum! The drum head is very loosely, it's tuned to the lowest possible pitch. Maybe you can hear it in this live-video! Best wishes, Chris! ruclips.net/video/eYtlBPG0JTg/видео.html
@@DrummerChristianHoffe Thanks a lot. You convinced me to buy one. I was skeptical about the bass drum sound. I thought it was nothing else than a "ploc" sound. Thanks !
I think the sound is very different to "normal" bass drums, the "tone"- volume is much lower, more attack sound. I think you can experiment with the drum head! 🤔 Best wishes, Chris! 😊🥁
Would you say this is worth buying over other drum sets? Or is it too expensive and are others better. I want to get one soon and am legitimately considering this but tell me 😂
Hello. Perfect Kit for unplugged sessions in small rooms and street gigs with percussion ensembles. You can take it easy anywhere - lightweiht & compact! In my channel you will find some "Live-Sound" Videos without microphones! Best wishes, Chris!
Hey Christian, fantastic demo! A quick question, I'm a home recording musician and thus far percussion has been the biggest sonic obstacle for me. I don't have room for a real kit in my studio. And whatever percussive instruments I get need to able to be disassembled fairly easily because my space is so small. With that in mind, this seems like a fantastic option. How would you say this would work as a very simple recording kit? This video gives me a lot of hope because it sounds fantastic here (you've clearly mic'd it very well). Still I'd love to hear your thoughts.
