Such a wonderful job this daughter is doing for her father. I'm sure it is a very hard job looking after this gentleman, who appears to have some form of mental illness going on. The bedroom looks so much better now. Just a suggestion for making cleaning in the corners of the baseboards and floors a bit easier...i use Q Tips (cotton tipped swabs) with cleaner on them to get right in the corners. It's much easier on your fingers than trying to get them right in the corners. Wonderful job, as always.

We use an old toothbrush with a small disposable plastic container (yogurt size to sour cream size depending on size of job) with dish soap and water. Follow with a damp cloth. Works for us. Qtip sounds good, must try this dipped in soap and water. ty
I save all my old toothbrushes 🪥and use them for different cleaning projects and art projects. I usually label them. 🏷 I'm going to buy Bamboo toothbrushes because... well obviously ♻️
But yeah good idea to use in the corners is a small brush even a car detailing brush, a sturdy make-up brush, a paint brush...etc. 🎨🛋🧼🪣🧽🫧🚬🩻🩺🪦☠️🧯🚭⚠️🚽

I hope the dad enjoys his nice clean bedroom. I agree, he needs ashtrays around the room. After years of smoking he is unlikely to change his habits. Bless his daughters for looking after him. Not everyone have people in their life who care.

The only thing with having an ashtray in the bedroom is that it might encourage him to lie in bed to smoke and that is so dangerous. I think Coline said she hopes the daughters will tell him not to smoke in there. In the living room or somewhere he should definitely have an ashtray. Yuck. Smoking stinks so much!!
@@genwhite1175 ideally yes, he should stop smoking in the bedroom, but it is clearly his habit to do so. More likely to start a fire without an ashtray to put the cigarette out properly. I hope his daughters can convince him it really isn't safe but usually advice like that falls on deaf ears.

I can't believe they house people with like no flooring, paint peeling...
It is very common in Holland to have to furnish a rented house, buy the (top) flooring and put a new coat of paint on as a new tenant. Putting in vinyl on top of the floor boards is a very practical and hygienic option.

I think the unusual item you found on the window ledge is an old stroopwafel iron. You did a great job on the bedroom! The only thing I would add is a couple of ashtrays as I didn't see any in the room and the lack of them is probably why the man is setting his cigarettes directly on the furniture and throwing them on the floor. You are a blessing to this family! Also want to give a shout out to the daughters who are trying to take care of their father, and for the way they stepped in to protect and re-home the injured dog. Yes, it's definetly an old waffel iron. You can still buy similar ones today they are great for outdoor cooking 😊

It is so inspiring when children are actually actively involved with the welfare of their parents. I hope this man realizes how fortunate he is to have someone in his life who genuinely cares and is seeking to improve his living conditions as best as she can. One thing he needs in that bedroom on his nightstand is a large ashtray. He's probably not going to stop smoking. This one really touched my heart because of that daughter trying so hard to help her Dad. I wish I still had my own Dad with me. I also looked after him after my Mom passed away and he ended up with cancer diagnosis. But everything I did was pure joy because I loved him so much. God bless this daughter, this Dad, and you, too Coline for agreeing to come help make a big difference for the better

Can you tell us what you use to clean and scrub with?
Depending on where you live will be what is available at your store but any antibacterial cleanser will work. Hydrogen Peroxide is really good for getting out blood stains but also helps to clean so you could use that. You can make your own like Mack does on his channel - Midwest Magic Cleaning. 🫧
Zep is a really great product.❇️
I use Fabuloso and I absolutely love the Lavender smell. 💜
PineSol is really great and one of my faves! It Cleans well, smells good and 🐛 🕷🪳hate the smell so it keeps them away!! Bonus level!! 😊😂✨️🏆
