It continues to surprise me how some people so easily start speaking in tongues. I've asked for years. Praise God for what He did there!
Not everyone will or needs to. It's only one of many spiritual gifts. Find out what yours are and use them for God's kingdom. ❤
It took me two years before I spoke in tongues. I watched a David Dig Hernandez video about speaking in tongues and at the end of it I was speaking in tongues. He is highly anointed. Do not give up. You will speak in tongues! I believe it.

Over the years the devil has cleverly altered the definition of the word Grace to mean God's goodness...but Grace is the Greek word "Charis" and has the same root as the word "Christ"--they both mean ANOINTING.
The Anointing (Grace/ Charis ) is where we get the word Charismatic --and refers to speaking in Tongues!
So Grace (Charis) --means praying in Spirit...or praying in Tongues! Tongues is the 'Word of God' that Peter witnessed the Gentiles had received after he'd preached to them, in Acts. They didn't suddenly start quoting the Torah & the New Testament hadn't been written yet--he stopped preaching & said, let's get them water baptized--because they've received the Holy Ghost, the Word of God, the same as we have! (Acts 10:44-47 & Acts 11:1) The scriptures are Holy & inspired, His Word of Truth but Grace (Charis) Tongues are the Holy Ghost "Word of God."
"Ghos-spell" literally means (Holy)Ghost speaking!

But that's exactly what I mean, the devil has distorted the original definitions so much in the last 2000 years, that the original meanings have been lost.
I went to Bible school and was given that same definition you quoted (30+ years ago) ...but in studying Hebrew and Greek, even Latin etymology I found out what the word actually means. Please look up and study the etymology.

This is my desire to receive the Holy Spirit. I contacted people on the TLR map but I have not heard anything from them. Valerie
It's very easy. Find a church with emotional music that you find "moving". Let yourself "go" mentally. Relax your mind and body, and let your emotions take over. Let your mind enter into a semi-hypnotic, meditative state while thinking about Jesus. This may make you want to cry. If so, you should. Next, let your body go limp and fall backwards but be sure someone is there to catch you. They will usually let you know this by a gentle hand on your back (if nobody is there to catch you, you can skip this part, and just slowly collapse to the floor). When the pastor puts his hand on your forehead, this will let everyone know its time. You have just been slain in the spirit. Now, lie on the floor for a while in a totally relaxed state while thinking about Jesus, and begin moving your lips to speak unintelligibly so that you speak in tongues. This last bit is important, as it will confirm that you received the Holy Spirit. Congratulations!
Little of this is in the Bible of course, but it might make you feel really good. If you find it doesn't feel right, don't despair, you can always follow Paul's instruction in Romans 8 to Walk in the Spirit, by setting your mind on the things of the Spirit like love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and SELF-CONTROL. This will require more engagement of your mind however, but you will be fulfilling the Law.
I don't agree with what you are saying. Torben certainly doesn't do it like that. I have been touched by the Holy Spirit many time but not baptized in the Holy Spirit.
God doesn't need tlr to drop the holy spirit on you. Spend time in on prayer. Tell God if it will help your ministry then you would like this spiritual gift, but if it's about you or it will hamper your ministry then wait. Find out what your other spiritual gifts are and get busy using them as He directs you.

In the film, you say that we should go on a mission because we received freely and should give freely. So how is it that your school costs almost three thousand dollars?
Because we don't receive house, food, and electricity for free, that was not what Jesus talked about. We don't take money to pray for people. But other things cost…. Because it is not free for us.
But our schoolit is really cheap compared to other places.
You are right, the school should not be free. People who teach at the school have to feed themselves and who will pay for the other expenses. A free school makes no sense at all.
The Ghospel is free...plane tickets, housing, buildings, electricity and food...they are not.
@@JerusalemRemembered28 Apostle Paul says that they are not peddlers of God's word and that it is God who fills believers with the Holy Spirit. I do not quite understand the purpose of such schools arising, since we can read the Bible ourselves and learn from it. For all Scripture is inspired and useful for detecting errors, for correction, for education, etc.
