You are honestly my inspiration to want to dress more vintage like. I've always wanted to but was sorta fearful. But now I'm not because watching you made me realize that I don't need to be afraid to dress how I want :-)
Me, too. What if I just look stupid? I'm just sorta...easing my way into it slowly but seriously, great style has been around for years, we really shouldn't let our fears control us so much.
You are so good at explaining! Most of the time on other youtuber vintage hair tutorials I feel lost but I actually think I can do this one! Thank you!!!
Thank you! I have the worst time with a wee bit of hair always popping out the bottom of the comb and sticking out backwards of everything else. I think the way you showed the twisting with stop that, and I love the bobby pin trick. Thanks again! Wishing you well!
So strange, I did my hair like that on the sides with combs almost every day for school back in the 80s, while other girls were doing punk or the big hairstyles. I guess I was 40s cool before retro was even a thing😶
Yes, curls and combs! My mama would sew flowers on my combs to match certain outfits. She was the best. I still wear combs from time to time esp since I found the ones for my fine hair!!
When I was cleaning out my grandparents house, I found TONS of little plastic hair combs in every color imaginable. That's how my grandma wore her hair. When I wear them, I think of her.
i love this look. I have been trying a look that will keep my hair out of my face at work and this is perfect. It also helps with the side combs. I keep trying to use them but still haven't mastered them. Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for sharing this style! I've been wearing my hair like this for the past couple of weeks and I'm loving it! Keep up the great work on your tutorials - they're super helpful! :)
What a beautiful hairstyle!!! Loved it so much. I always try doing this hairstyle but can never achieve it with hair pins. I want to buy so combs now!!! Ps. Love the color of your hair!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this hair style. It looks so neat and professional...like it will last me for hours in the office without having to mess with it. Do you have naturally straight hair?? (Or naturally curly hair...) I have the straightest hair of anyone I have ever met. Zero frizz unfortunately.
Could you do a video on how to save curls from a heat set even after hair spraying etc? Not sure how to sleep with curls in and be able to have them still nicely for the next day?
Another important factor when using Bobby pins ensure to get the Bobby pins closest to the shade of your hair so that they're easier to conceal. Eg if you have lighter coloured hair don't use black bobby pins💜
OMG! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! I tried it this morning and i'm really pleased. :3 Such a great and easy hairstyle and even works with my long hair.
What exactly is your haircut? Do you have a middy or a long length? I had my haircut a few weeks ago and I wanted my hairstylist to give me the "long length" cut but I think she was afraid to cut my hair that short and didn't understand how to read the diagram...It came out OK, I definitely noticed after the cut my wet set came out much better and lasted longer. It still doesn't seem to come out as curly at the back though so that's what makes me think it needs to be shorter at the back or needs shorter layers?? I used at least 24 (maybe more) pink rollers in my hair and my hair isn't what I would consider super thick so I don't think it was that I took too small sections or anything.
Lovely! Thank you for the thorough explanation and great tips. How do you sleep on your hair and come out with it looking so nice? Also, as someone fairly new to vintage style, how do you go multiple days without washing your hair even with all of that hairspray?
Hi thank you for the video of this beautiful hairstyle I'll definitely going to give it a try. Can you please do a video about you hair color and how you dye it please!!
I really liked your video.Unfortunately I have very long, heavy and straight hair so it's almost impossible for me to do anything vintage .....what should I do?I don't want to cut my hair
Regina papadopoulou TorrinPaige here on RUclips has a video for victory rolls and sponge curlers. She has about 6ft of hair so if check out her tips and tricks
I love the colour of your hair ! Been getting bored with my pink the pre bleach kill's my hair. Can I ask is your colour henna ,dye or are you lucky enough for that to be natural? I hope you don't mind me asking 😊 with love from the UK xxxx

Looks perfect. I grew up seeing this hairstyle as a child.
So strange, I did my hair like that on the sides with combs almost every day for school back in the 80s, while other girls were doing punk or the big hairstyles. I guess I was 40s cool before retro was even a thing😶
Ha ha me too, I did this daily thru 90's

A lot of 80s things got their style from the 40s so it makes sense that you did this hairstyle in the 80s 😌

Same!
Have you tried using a good setting lotion? I've heard that helps a lot, so it may be worth trying!
Kirsten Bakker- super straight hair person here. Yes, setting lotion makes a big difference for me

You are amazing, I'm already following you on instagram! I'd like to see a lookbook or haul on vintage clothing.
Would you mind linking to the lipstick you wore here (or ones similar) ❤️❤️❤️
Where can l get the vintage hair products/ like shampoo and soft cream and so on
Is that a display for hair flowers to the right?! It's so cute!
Also I think this is going to a go to for me :)
This hairstyle is lovely on you! I thought I heard you say it works with straight hair too???
Do you have any hairscare, or any beautycare salon?
I'm so sad that my hair is frizzy I love these hair style 😭
What if the hair is much longer?

I love your dress!! Where did you get it?
Is your accent from another time? I've never heard such an accent. Do you have a time machine?
It's New Zealand I believe. It's really lovely!
حلووة واوووو ❤️sweet
How do you do your hair curly . My hair is very fine ,please me to get a curly hair
What lipstick is that please xxx
My hair is thin and board straight! It holds a curl for 18 seconds then it goes straight again! So frustrating!!
Totally check out the perm rod set tutorials. Curls last for days!
I'm not so much time poor as skill poor. Still trying to work out how to put in rollers without making a tangled mess and how to part neatly.
I can’t get my hair to look smooth. Maybe I need more hairspray?
Is that your natural hair color
What era is your dress?
I tried this and even used curlers but my hair is just too thick
I love you
