I have been living with this condition for 6 years now and it's starting to come back. This video helped a lot. Before I just did yoga, some rotator cuff exercises and massage therapy. But I haven't kept up and my therapist always mentioned my rhomboids were tight! Guys if your reading this yoga helps but you also have to train the muscles around it. Did this for almost two years straight and lived a normal life for a year. I have given up bench and other exercises though

@@wajarabapunshi638 I quit overhead exercises unless its body weight. It started after weightlifting consistently for 2months. Pain was internal at the end of the clavicle, then decided to take a break and try a light workout annnnddddd it sucked the next day. Sleeping on my back became permanent, changing the radio, checking the cupboard sucked. I had AC joint instability and some painful feelings from time to time and I decided to have an operation on my shoulder because I could not use my shoulder efficiently and I had too much scapula instability that it was bothering me all the time when I did any type of pulling or pushing exercises. Then it took me over 4 years to return to a proper range of motion and strengthen muscles sufficiently to reduce the imbalance in my delts. I also remember that my trapezoid was compensating for weakness in my delts. Hope this boy will strengthen his shoulder and recover soon.

any idea why my left AC joint (the bony bit that pops out near end of my shoulder) feels bruised/tender when pressed/rubbed and has done for 2 years?
Started noticing slight twinge when taking my top off, mild discomfort when sleeping on that side with arm overhead, slight discomfort when pressing. Doing some thoracic mobility exercises and rolling a foam roller forward/backwards with my wrists helped the discomfort when pressing, but AC joint continues to be sore

    • @physiorehab

It may be that you have your first signs of early degenerative changes / arthritis in the joint with joint inflammation. Might be a good idea to get some imaging done on the AC joint to confirm and consult your Physio if a cortisone is a good idea or not, as well as a strengthening program. Our 12 week program would be ideal for strengthening around the joint. Have a look here: www.physiorehab.com/rehab-programs-shoulder-rotator-cuff-rehab. Tim

@@physiorehab A call for help to improve our quality of life drastically: This was an amazing video. Have dislocated both sternoclavicular and ac joint when really young (9 y.o) and never got the surgery or rehab that I probably needed. Now it has healed in a strange way preventing me from doing any type of pushing motion in the gym (some forms of shoulder press overhead does work). All practitioners I have talked with tell me I will never be able to do something as simple as pushups again. I hate that answer, it really makes me sad. I think this video helps a lot of people in similar positions, as this injury prevents us from pursuing our fitness and weight lifting goals. Any more video on this matter would have a seriously positive impact on the quality of lives of many in this thread it seems. How we can find our road back to being able to train our chest etc. I have been told it is an uncommon injury (at least to the degree that I have it) and therefore there are few local practitioners who know how to deal with these types of issues. Would be awesome if you would be the guy who offers more extensive knowledge and help on this globally through digital means. No one has ever done this and it would help people with this issue for years to come. Thank you, this is a bit of a cry for help from people who really enjoy staying fit but are held back from ever achieving these goals.

I've always been diligent with my shoulders because In the past I've seen people who have shoulder injuries and they can't even work out. So I've always been afraid of that. Recently I started throwing a football with my son and I don't know if it was just time or that specific exercise exposed it. The top of my shoulder bone was hurting so I looked up,Acromion Pain
And it led to this video. Now is this pain something that can be treated without surgery? cuz I've had this pain for months and no matter how much ice I put on it the pain is still there.

I destroyed my shoulder playing HS football (over 30 dislocations/separations) and had two unsuccessful surgeries. I was a fucking miserable one armed man for 6 years after my operations, so I saw approximately 9 different ortho surgeons who told me that I was fucked. I cant flex my pec, lat, posterior & lateral delt. My collar bone is visibly raised and protruding into my trachea. My arm has atrophied to half its original size, its in a perpetual "winging" position and my backpacks always slide off. The worst is when I reach across my chest - the top of my humerus looks like its gonna break through the skin, then there is a giant dent followed by tennis ball sized mass pushing against my collar bone (similar to the patient in this video but more severe).
Do you think there is any way for me to restore my shoulder to even 50% of its original state? I feel somewhat discouraged about how well rehab would work considering the injury was 10 years ago and I had the surgeries 7 & 4 years ago..

    So it’s well earned. Lol
This sports doc is the best I’ve seen. He’s spot on and properly discribes what’s going on and why.
Rest of his videos are spot on. Ignore the 2000 idiots on you tube, most don’t know what they are taking about and the rest are just wrong.
AC issues tend to end up being degenerative AC joint arthritis.
It flares up and goes away. So you can live with it. Don’t really need pain management, less it all let’s go, then only for a week.
The best med I’ve found is Prazosin. It’s a Hypotensive drug prescribe normally to lower blood pressure by inhibiting the alpha one receptor. However, it’s now been clinically proven and shown to inhibit TNF A/B.
This stops the progression of arthritis and within 30 minutes or reduce any inflammation in the body by about 7580%. It’s the only thing I’ve ever taken that one my shoulder AC is acting up within 30 minutes. It is loose as a goose and go work out.
It’s one of those miracle drugs that wasn’t designed to do this but 20 years later, they figured it out. It’s not even the first line drug for people with heart issues, really more for anxiety. But the only other way to inhibit, TNF, a and B. Our weekly injections of a mono inhibitor. I’ll stake the Prazosin. Look it up.
