To anyone who cant see the menuhax67_installer:
At 5:40, he visually shows to drop the menuhax67_installer.3dsx file into the Nintendo 3DS folder on the SD card but he audible says to drop the menuhax67_installer.3dsx file into the 3ds folder which threw me off until I fixed it by dropping menuhax67_installer.3dsx into the other correct 3ds folder

Great guide. Note: mine DID crash consistent when trying to launch mk7 ROP exploit injector. Tried multiple times. Changed language to French and still crashed, changed language to Spanish and it worked! Finished process and changed language back to English no problem. Thanks for the guide!

Someone had given me their 2DS to mod in June. Thing being they tried to mod it themselves and (I think) gave up into the Boot9Strap. So I actually used the Mario Kart 7 method to preload my homebrew onto his! And it actually suceeded! I'm glad you're doing this incase anyone has this sort of thing!

I modded mine when I heard the eShop was shutting down, and I learned the hard way that removing the SD card too many times can damage the port. However, you can fix the port on your own by inserting a different SD card a few times (this will end up breaking the parts of the SD card that register that it's inserted into something though)
It's definitely worth looking into wirelessly transferring files between the computer and console so the SD card never needs touched.

The fix is to switch your language from English to Spanish, this worked for me.

I cant seem to get past 11:34 of the video. The 3DS screen shows the proper screen for 1/2 a second and then get an exception occurred error

Imma give an honest review: I think this was a great tutorial, I had to slow it down and rewind it a few times especially because I was mainly on Mac and had to navigate it. BUT this was by far the easiest one I’ve found. Its explained well and really included all of the brands other than windows. Took some time but I go it done and I’m thankful !! I just wanted to be honest because I under stand everyone’s thankfulness on all of the tutorials like this but some are misleading!

On Mac that doesn't work the first time, you have to repeat the process as long as necessary, until the file is displayed, for my part the folder’s name is 307
Mine gets “an error has occurred. Please save your data in any software currently in use, and then restart the system.” After trying click the home menu settings how do I fix
This guide helped me regain all the digital games I lost when I replaced my 3ds xl motherboard. I no longer have access to my old nintendo network id as I can't access the recovery email address so this helped me regain Mario and Luigi Dream Team and do so much more.

I have ran into a problem where I have the nimdsphax option on the homebrew launcher, but not the other. How can I fix this?
You have put the menuhax67_installer.3dsx file in the incorrect folder. This may be why. At 5:45, you can see him putting the file into the Nintendo 3DS folder, however, you are meant to put it inside the 3ds folder. The 3ds folder is for hb. applications.
Hey, can you help me by any chance. So I’m pass the part yours kept crashing at. I’m at where you have to press the “ HOME Menu Settings “ and it keeps crashing there for me. I tried changing the language and going into the Mario kart again and it keeps crashing at the home menu. What should I do

So I try to using this method to mod my brothers 3DS now I use the Mac Version kart miner and I followed everything but when I go onto street pass it says this “when you tag another Mario kart 7 Player via Street pass they will be added to your friends” and it doesn’t let me go in to street pass is there a fix for this?

I have that one 3ds that can't be modded... But I used your custom R4 firmware that finally allows me to play my favorite gba games without any problem :) Any other gba runner always caused crashes

I just did this for both of my old 3DS yesterday at around 5am. One with the Digital Mario Kart 7 game and another without the game but using the Download Play feature. I used the online guide, very well made

@@CamiloWarren Uh I'm not sure what my method refers to but I bought the Blue 3DS that came preinstalled with Mario Kart 7 many years back when it first came out. So I just reinstalled it from the eShop

When you used the download play feature, did you just exit the game from a session with the other ds and follow the instructions as if you had entered from the channel on the full version of the game?
(Question) is it possible to mod a 2DS without a digital or physical copy of Mario kart 7? Can this be used with another type of game? Such as face raiders or any physical copy. Thanks

Was following the instructions carefully until i got to 11:01, for some reason, the menu after tapping the streetpass list button wont show up and i cant continue with modding my 2ds. Is there any way to bypass this?
is there a way to undo everything and restart? because the menuhax installler doesnt pop up and i put it in the right 3ds folder
edit: i moved menuhax to a different 3ds folder and it shows up on the homebrew menu but now when i press a the top screen goes black and the bottom one goes red then it returns to the homebrew menu

but if I use the version of Mario Kart 7 for the launcher can I still use it to play the game, or do I need another copy of it to play the game?
I feel as if I have missed a step somewhere when following the video. Does the Beta mk7v1.2 Folder have to be on the Root of the SD card? I've followed the video Tutorial thus far but when I go to launch Mario Kart and press A repeatedly, I just get a white screen and an error message. I've changed the language from English to Spanish. I feel as if I should also have the Moveable.sed file step on my SD card, rather than on my PC. Where have I gone wrong? I would appreciate some feedback and confirmation of my steps.
EDIT: I've continued with the video steps, but found that whatever language I select to try and trigger the exploit, I just get a white screen and an error. The only language that possibly works is Italian, as the Mario Kart menu crashes, which gives me hope something is happening somewhere. How have people completed the exploit?
EDIT 2: I purchased a Cartridge copy of the Game and completed a Factory Reset of my Console. I now have a modded Console. Must be the Cartridge that helps instead of a Digital copy. Who knows.
For me the screen goes white and I just go into the game, I dont even crash. Which is strange.

did you move anything from beta mk folder to the sd card? In the tutorial he puts his sd card in his computer but doesnt put any files on it while doing the backup but then he takes his sd card out.

Um I modded my old 3ds and I’m on steam os Linux btw and I tried opening the restore USA file at the end but the exploit is still there when I open Mario kart channel idk how to restore the save data
hey i was at the second part of the homebrew launcher where you had to launch menuhax, where i saw it wasn’t there… the file was there it just didn’t appear. and now being angry, i accidently froze the console (the screen being stuck) and decided to do the power off feature on the rosalina menu, and now nothing works, can’t power off the console or anything. i tried removing mk7 and the sd card and got nothing, still looking at the frozen homebrew screen. any tips or am i screwed with a bricked 2ds?
update: i let the 2ds die and now its back to itself again, and still no sight of the menuhax program, gonna replay the video and see if i can fix this
update: i finally picked up the 2ds after a WHILE… thanks to a helpful comment from someone i found out that the menuhax was supposed to go in the 3ds file, not the Nintendo 3DS file. now i’m able to play all mario and luigi games! :smiles:

Does It have to be a US version of the game or does a Japanese copy work to?
For Mario kart 7, get the region version of the game that your device is on (sorry if that’s unclear), for example, a U.S. console needs a U.S. game, Japanese consoles need a Japanese game, same with Europe. Also, if you’re in Canada like me, you get the U.S. version. Also, here’s where you check what region your console is. 10:20

Why do I not get a friend bot from the bruteforce moveable site? I get the file but it doesn’t give me the bot to add, everything else is in the right place but I can’t get the bot, what do I do?
I have two folders of the 3ds ID codes but I can't rename it or delete it. I'm already stuck trying to mod it by not even doing anything.

I have the same issue. I live in europe and my files aren't called "USA.bat" or "EUR".bat" or anything either. I can't seem to figure out why it won't work either. And yeah the ds card was inserted
you need to disable write protection on the sd card.

You have to click "extract all" after double clicking the batch file. Then go to the extracted file that looks identical to the original and do the same process. Worked for me
i had this issue and i could not fix it... googled the problem, and ended up adding the path to the environment variables on my computer (i wrote it in 2 different ways just in case..), also did the "identical extracted file" mentionned in this reply thread (not sure if this is what that person meant, but i extracted the save3ds.fuse file) not sure if all that worked.. but after having the "Release_BE..." file on my desktop only, and adding the extracted identical file path into my computer, it worked!! i suggest also following 3ds.hacks website guide AT THE SAME TIME as Aton's, since i think i did something different than his guide shows P.S: make sure you're running it as administrator too!

I removed and reformatted my SD card on my device to reuse it despite it being modded, which was a mistake, since I lost access to the homebrew launcher. What would be the easiest way to add the launcher back?
Edit: I should clarify that I do have Godmode9 still working on the device
your guides cause so many people to brick their systems. people should only be using the written guide.
I did everything it said alongside mario kart 7, but the streetpass list just never booted me into a race or anything. I followed everything added everything to the sd card, added the friend, the movable.scd folder but nothing. It says I also have 0 streetpass tags as well.

Homebrew isn't launching and is instead freezing and crashing, and you said to check if the launcher.dat is there, and it is, and you didn't say anything about what to do if the launcher.dat is there but the 3DS still freezes. Help?

I just followed your tutorial of home brewing the Wii with wireless connection and instead of “It can be installed” it said “It can be installed as an iOS” (or something like that in purple) about the BootMii. I stocked with it and so far everything is fine but I was wondering if you can tell me if I should be worried or not. It should mean a lot if you answers. Thank you in advanced.
The "Can only be installed as an IOS" message only appears on Wiis from October 2008 and newer. It's completely normal, but if it's installed as an IOS the only way to recover a brick is to restore to a previous NAND backup
This would've been handy a few days ago bcos I bought a first gen 3ds second hand for 210 euro to try mod it, saw that there was no exploit so I traded it for a new 3ds with an extra 90 euros just to mod it.

Some people say to move the homebrew launcher file to the root, or move the menuhax, but that has not worked. No one has said anything in the discord it seems either.
hi there, i encountered this same issue of being able to install the xPloit Injector but could not launch the homebrew launcher at the same timestamp - I managed to resolve it.
check through the files carefully in your sd card (e.g., can reference 6:11). i made a mistake of putting all the files into the "Nintendo 3DS" folder and after rectifying the placement of the files it worked for me.

Originally attempted on MacOS but hit a road block. Once I tried it on windows it took approximately 15 mins. Great video
when you reattempted on windows did you use parallels? Also did you just delete all the old files off the sd card when you switched and downloaded them back on the windows?
@@tyjcx I kept all the original files, on macOS it wouldn’t run the appropriate scripts so I basically started at that point.
