Hi Devon, I’m a diabetic educator, you are doing amazing. It is completely normal to require more insulin as a T1D momma while pregnant. I’m sure you’re in communication with your Endo, but maybe talk to them about adjusting your basil for a while or your insulin to carb ratio if you’re fluctuating and needing more insulin. But always remember, you’re doing amazing, and growing a whole person. Keep being amazing guys

Type 1 diabetic here! 👋 I pre bolus 30-45 min before a meal and check my sugar an hour after if it’s 130 I take insulin to bring it down. I’m pregnant right now too, this is my second pregnancy. Whenever you workout/ drink water it should bring your blood sugar down! Being type one diabetic and pregnant is very hard and a lot of work, definitely a full time job on top of already being a momma to a toddler. You’re doing a good job, give yourself grace & credit!

Type 1 diabetic since age 4, I continued to stay very active throughout my pregnancy. During my 5th month my blood sugar dropped to 18 while I was at work 🤪 i worked in the hospital so my coworkers lifted me into a wheelchair right to the emergency room. I don't remember anything until I woke up in the ER after that my doctor told me to eat what I wanted and snack throughout the day due to my active lifestyle. Just have snacks available because during pregnancy those blood sugars will be a little bit crazy, especially if you're going to be exercising a lot. God Bless y'all 🙏 P.S. my baby was fine and is a healthy 33 year old now 😀

Thank you so much for sharing the literal highs and lows of pregnancy and diabetes. I was diagnosed at 11 and have always wondered what pregnancy would look like for me. I hope things go smoothly from here, remember the numbers dont reflect the hard work and effort youre putting in. Growing a baby is hard work and managing diabetes at the same time is a full time job! ❤

I am also a type 1 diabetic. I took my insulin this morning, ate a healthy very low carb breakfast like literally one piece of bread. My blood sugar climbed to 426. I was like what the heck. So, I inhaled a 4 unit cartridge of inhalable insulin called Afreeza, and it started to come down steadily. So I get the frustration. You are growing a precious human, and you are doing great.

It would wake me in the night, telling me that my sugars were critically low and I would do the handheld glucose monitor and my sugars would be fine. I would say 90% of the time it was inaccurate. I found eating bread for breakfast was the only time my sugars didn’t go high. if I went for a walk for 15 to 25 minutes after a meal, my sugars would be really good. Best of luck to you.

learning how to eat as a diabetic is such a long haul - hopefully you won't be dealing with it too much after pregnancy but from personal experience- it's about finding what works for you and staying consistent
you can't keep the same food hut change your exercise pattern and expect the same result - or even waking up at a different time can change what your body is doing - you're doing great so far and you got this

Girl i ALWAYS have to calibrate my dexcom when i start a new sensor.. it's always wonky and the numbers are off. But i love my G7.. the start time is amazingly short compared to the 2 HOUR warmup the G6 had & it's way smaller and plus you don't have to worry about having the two separate parts and accidentally throwing the transmitter away. I've been on the
G7 for a little over and year and so many people talk bad about it but i love mine. It never gives me any trouble.. it always lasts the 10 days plus the 12 hour grace period.
Just must be the time of the year cause my numbers have been crazy lately also. Diabetes is such a weird experience. Not many people get the emotions of being type 1.

Okay so cool!!! I love learning about this stuff so would love to know more!!🥹 so far Ezekiel bread has been good since trying it but it did spike second day (POOH)!! The only thing I did different was add a tiny bit of cinnamon to the top bc I heard that’s good for you 🥲😂

I predict that he will arrive early. Be ready!! 😊
My second son was making me feel this way towards the end and he came a month early. 😮
There was no holding him back!! It became difficult to stand and walk.

@@Thecordlefamily I am type 1 diabetic and was induced at 36 weeks due to preeclampsia. Never hurts to be prepared to go early. Increased insulin resistance in the 2nd and 3rd trimester is typical. Talk to your endo. I think my basal rates were 4x higher than my non pregnant rates when I delivered. And then those insulin needs go right back to pre pregnancy rates after you deliver.

Is your OBGYN or an endocrinologist telling you what your numbers should be? My OB was telling me my after meal number needed to be under 130 and my endocrinologist told me that was an unrealistic goal and it would stress me way too much to meet that goal all the time! If it’s your OB telling you what your blood sugar should be maybe reach out to your endocrinologist to get some peace of mind and maybe help stress a little less! Being a T1D is so hard sometimes 😮‍💨

As a diabetic you should try base culture bread! Only thing I could eat at breakfast time as my pregnancy went on!

Hi my sister had juvenile diabetes at 11 years old. I watched her struggle for years with the nine game. I’m sorry you have this awful disease. She just passed away April 23, 2024, she was 54. It wasn’t even her diabetes she had a heart attack while on vacation in Aruba, she was only there 1 day. I wish you luck and happiness and I’m glad you have a great support system❤

Jesus can do anything, He is God. He has a reason for everything including what he does and doesn’t do. Just like him not healing a lame desciple, he wanted people to see what a miracle it was that he could work through someone even with an impairment.
