    I’m an older listener 🤣👵🏽 I’m 35 and my husband is 42. We are currently leading a small group through a marriage study and last week we just talked about not comparing testimonies. One thing that really stood out to me is the idea that our stories differ, but the WORK God does is the same. Comparison is a thief! Fight the urge to compare just because your story doesn’t sound like someone else’s ❤️

    It's 4:55 am and I'm sitting here absolutely hysterical! I needed this! I'm 33 and grew up in the church. I had some trauma happen to me at 21 and my relationship with God has not been the same since! Hearing Devin say that God wants you to come as you are, I feel like God was speaking to me. I have felt so unworthy and just dirty you know? I wish and hope I can get back to the basics and start over with Jesus! Such a beautiful podcast and you Lady's are not just touching the younger girls but us woman out here as well! Amen!

    I just have to say I love your testimony Sophia because I pray that’s my daughter’s too. I came to know the Lord so much later in life and had so much hurt and missed out on so much time with God. I’ve prayed and loved on my little girl from my belly to in my arms. Now she’s almost 2 and prays with me and I couldn’t wish enough for her to never know a time she didn’t know Jesus. That is anything I could hope for. Now pregnant with her little sister I pretty much ugly sobbed hearing this testimony! ❤

    I truly think that y’all broke up and experienced your hardships as a test. I believe we are faced with choices and challenges that give us an opportunity to steer our path towards our best self. We only have control of our actions and reactions. You were faced with a hard decision to let go of someone you loved because they weren’t being the best version of themself. You were given an opportunity to prove to yourself that you wouldn’t accept the love he was offering at the time, I really believe being with someone is about love and commitment. You have to both be always willing to do the work. Otherwise you decide if it’s a deal breaker or you let it go. You proved what you’d accept, that you were okay alone, and that you were whole regardless!!

    Sisters in Christ!!! This was so amazing. You two are so sweet! I'm 35 and i didn't grow up reading the bible or having christian influence. But I did have one of those deep testimonies Sophia, lol. But I love your testimony too, it's just that your parents protected you from the consequences of sin! I think possibly people who don't have wise counsel like you did from the beginning of your life, have to make so many more mistakes to come to Jesus. So hearing what it would be like to be raised with this wisdom is just amazing...sooo powerful and such a good image for people even to just think about/imagine. Maybe your dad and mom can share some of their wisdom with us too sometime. :) Maybe we can start a prayer group? For revival of healthy relationships everywhere! :)

    I think as Christian’s sometimes, we do have a fault of comparing our testimony to others, especially when you’re young. I tell my youth group all the time that your story isn’t over, God is still filling up the pages of your life and using you in ways that you may not realize now, but will see the fruit of your labor later.

      I think we can all figure that out based on what most people do in college... also it's totally fine to respect what someone desires to share about their personal life, publically. They already share so much of their personal life publically, so give her grace.

    You can't just know Jesus your whole life. Salvation is to believe in him and confess with your mouth. There has to be a point of accepting Jesus as your Savior.

    I’m confused do y’all not believe in having to choose salvation or do y’all just think you get saved by getting baptized and going to church?🤨

    • @jenniferarteaga
      @jenniferarteaga 4 месяца назад

      What do you consider / view salvation as?

    • @lily-jane.400
      @lily-jane.400 4 месяца назад +3

      @@jenniferarteaga Well I was taught that you are a sinner from birth but as a young child you can’t understand salvation so if say a newborn- 7 year old died and they hadn’t yet had the comprehension of salvation they would go to heaven. But once you truly understand that you’re a sinner and you understand the crucifixion and sacrifice then you would be in danger of hell.
      And it’s not like you turn 8 and suddenly one no you’re going to hell because comprehension varies for each person.
      Anyways so then you would pray repent ask Jesus into your heart and accept salvation and then baptism was the completion of showing that you’re saved.
      But I was never taught that baptism was what saved you it was your faith in Christ

    • @ThatBibleStudyChannel2023
      @ThatBibleStudyChannel2023 4 месяца назад +1

      @@lily-jane.400You are absolutely correct. It is faith alone that saves someone. Ephesians 2:8-9 says we are not saved by any work.. (baptism, going to church, reading the Bible, etc.) We are saved by grace through our faith in Jesus Christ.
      It's kind of sad that Devins podcast was supposed to be centered around testimonies.. and I legitimately haven't heard ONE person talk about when they got saved, events that lead up to being saved.. what the gospel is.. etc. It's seriously disappointing and leaves me wondering if they even understand salvation/the gospel.

      Hi! GOD bless you. (:
      I was just reading through the comments and wanting to pitch into this convo, so baptism is what saves us. Obviously it begins with faith, but ultimately getting baptized gives us salvation and also living a life that gratifies THE LORD. Living a life for HIM not for ourselves. “ He who believes and is baptized will be saved..”. (Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭16‬)
