    The Engineers tie-in with Annunaki & Biblical lore is probably one of my favorite cinema mythos ever and I wish Ridley Scott had pursued it more.

      but if someone doesn't make a story the way we want, we can then take that idea and use it in our own works. so it's not all a lose.
      we just need to get to work making these new stories the way we want (new IP and no copyrights obviously)

      If I recall correctly, the original draft of Prometheus drew a lot from Raëlism. The idea was that Jesus was one of the Engineers, and we strung him up. THAT is why the Engineers were on their way to wipe us all out.
      But, somewhere along the line they decided to drop the Jesus angle - but kept in the rest. So we never learn, in the final product, why the Engineers were coming to destroy us.
      BUT, since they didn't explain it in the movie, my theory is that the Engineer was NOT coming to destroy us with the black goo - but to douse us with it and instigate our "next stage of evolution." Probably into something horrible akin to the Xenomorph itself.... :(

    • @firstnamenlastname
      @firstnamenlastname 2 года назад +4

      @@kheph777 I believe that it is in fact canon inside the Engineer’s mythos in the Prometheus universe that Jesus was an Engineer in the story and that the ship was headed to punish humanity for its treatment of him but Ridley Scott decided it was a bit much for the movie but not for the literature/comics.

The Space Jockey on LV 426 is 3 times the Size of Humans and it's not wearing a Helmet That is it's actual Skull with an attached Tube to the Skull. The Space Jockey seems to be permanently Attached into the Control Seat . The Juggernaut appears to be Organic in some Nature of Sorts the Engineers Ship appears to mimic and Copy but in more Technological way . Not organically . The LV 426 Juggernaut has no Cryo sleep chambers and is much larger than the ships on LV 223 . Just Sayin

    I am personally beginning to despair over the choices being made in the Alien movies, whether it be by the studios (executives/suits?) or the director, Ridley Scott. John Spaihts has consistently put forward ideas that have been ignored and, instead, Damon Lindelof - who I view as a hack- has been given free reign. As a long-time fan I am tired of hearing about what the movie I just watched could have been as opposed to the one I actually got. Prior to the release of Prometheus, Ridley Scott said himself that he thought the Xenomorph had had its day and that he was more interested in the background (Space Jockey etc). I agree. I'm far more interested in the origins and space politics than watching another human be impregnated/exploding from within/eaten etc. But he fucked it up by making the Jockey a man in a suit (literally!). It sounds to me like Spaihts had a much better idea. TBH my expectations for the next movie and the TV series are not high. I want to be proved wrong. Thank you for the video, interesting viewing as ever 👍👍👍

    Prometheus well ahead of its time. People these days have not enough of an attention span for a movie like this. And that includes so called AlienS fans. A lot of the fan base these days see AlienS as the first Alien Film and expect all the alien films to follow that Spoon fed plot and Action film trope. That is NOT what ALIEN is. Or Prometheus. Thinking men's movies.

    Ridley Scott maybe a brilliant filmmaker. But, he goes off in these weird directions with his movies. In Alien, whenever we see Ash exercising, Ridley theorized that he needed to exercise his joints because, as an android, they would freeze up if not used often. Also, I've found Blade Runner difficult to understand overall. Then again, it's based on Philip Dick's book and I found him to be "way out there" in regards to his writing.

    Yep, Spaihts should've had a bigger role in these movies. We still could've had the neomorph and the protomorph (I thought they were both great) included in the two concepts Spaihts had developed and the story still would have been amazing. The Ultramorph would have been epic...even more than Cameron's queen.

      No I don't. That was the fans moaning about Prometheus actually. All the same dickheads who deeply inhaled Blomkamp's silent fart in the room.
      As something else slightly unrelated, Raised by Wolves turned out to be more free with what it could do. I don't think the Blomkamp Aliens 2.0 fans wanted a complete, big budget, Giger like nightmare about emergent cosmic monsters on elsewhere planets and creation myths (which do exist you know and always will, science regardless) that we may be related to said monsters deep down the line. They just wanted some big guns really.
      Shame.
      Love the first three Alien films, think Scott was trying to pull it back, although 'Fans' say "No".
      Maybe he was compromised by shallow expectations really, I still like them. Still want the third with David and his 'colonists'. I think Dr. Phibes with his own planet of evil.

Not only is stupid, I guess is totally cultural (EEUU culture) and as european It totally alienated me. Films, specially blockbuster pretending ones shall at least attemp to be universal. And I am not even going to mention scientific accuracy on a science ficction franchise

    • @changsangma1915
      @changsangma1915 2 года назад

      .....what does being european has anything to do with the high reaching sci fi franchise that talks about impossible creatures like xenos and giant humanoids. Your rant has no actual context to argue other than a clear disagreement of humans created by aliens notion. Thats why its fiction unless you got a more convulated ideas to throw up.

    • @shreksnow1918
      @shreksnow1918 2 года назад

      Freaking out about creationism in sci-fi is silly because those kinds of elements have been around in sci-fi stories for a long time. Plus, the Alien series very clearly isn’t based on hard science (just look at the expanded universe with all the crazy stuff there). That being said it completely messes up the lore. The Space Jockey was very clearly a biomechanoid that was possible grown into or out of the chair in a cybernetic bioship, and NOT pale humans with ridiculously overly designed technology. It reduces the Xenomorphs from this horrible highly adaptable monstrous organism that’s truly ancient to being the science experiment of some robot. Plus, it makes humans the center of the universe and ruins the themes of an uncaring nihilistic universe where we’re just shrimp in an ocean of terrors.
      Another thing is Ridly Scott is getting old, and his brother tradgicly committed suicide. Of course he’s going to try to explore elements like this because his end is near. But, in the process he’s ruining an amazing series (this is all coming from someone who recently lost his faith and became agnostic so I can empathize in a way).
