Sucker heads boiled with potatoes or as a soup was one of our main meals growing up in a metis community. But only in winter. At that time they were left on the ice cause there was no money to be made by com fishermen. Took tub loads home and buried under snow. Fish to eat all winter. You brought back some good memories.
Who in the world gives this a thumbs down. Some arse stuck in a crappy little apartment shithole in some big ugly city I bet.Your doing a great job Andrew, keep living the life brother.Peace!
Fish heads are the most underrated part of the fish..... And the collars as well ( the back of the fish head with pectoral fins and some belly meat included!!! I split the Salmon collars, brine and smoke them, they are awesome, but have some bigger bones which are easy to pick out😉
zip up the bag then knead it from the outside -- hands stay clean ---way i do it --snip off the corner of the bag and squeeze the bannok into the pan -- love the show
been watching your channel for a couple years on my tv. love your channel, you inspired me to subscribe and you are the first and only channel i have subscribed to in 5 years of watching you tube
Great videos Andrew! I've been down cause of surgery, so it's nice to watch you trapping. I have eaten martin. My son ran a line here in Alaska and one night in the skinning shed I trimmed off some meat off of his martin. myself and my kids and grandkids loved it. I would have a hard time giving up any martin meat from now on. As you say Carey on .
Nice day for a picnic lol. Bannock Andrew makes the best, damn he makes that fire cook like the hottest stove.12:37 well they say fish is brain food. Been watchin you when you would give your dog pike he loved that I bet.
I can taste the wood 2500 miles away! I would eat it, aint got any molars left, but heck i never chewed my food anyway after being in the Army,,lol. so trout heads would be excellent! heck, i never had bannock until i watched this channel,( 9 years ago!!) Chef Andrew, no doubt good outdoorsman. Benjamin got any recipes to share? bring them on! cya for the marten bbq!! later Gents,,,
You boys are eating like kings! Loving the videos Andrew, I learn something with every one. Really good you have Ben there. He is so relaxed. Now I’m craving smoked fish.
That was really fascinating to see those heads cooked like that. I've boiled them a bunch for soups, but never thought of that way.....and they were still good even without back eddy's !! 😃. I'll have to give it a try next time I get some.
Ben is the man! So very thankful you have kept him in the vids. I've been a subscriber since the beginning. Love the content but Ben adds something different. Keep bringing the good stuff with Ben!
Can't complaint about the grub. Grilled fish heads are good. Good business opportunity for you guys. A snowmobile drive-thru in the bush. 😁 Stay safe! 👍🍻
You are blessed to be in that type of county. Love your videos. Wish I could tag along on your trapline. We could just drive over the small trees on the new trail.
Thank You for the upload. Enjoyable , Educational and engaging - you are very descriptive with the food tasting I felt i was right there with you guys! Yummy now I am hungry! lol
Dang Andrew you and Ben are eating like kings. Anything cooked outside on a campfire is delicious. I enjoyed the video brother keep on putting the videos out and you will get the subscribers.
I've had boiled salmon heads with my dad before. I like the idea of splitting them and cooking them over an open flame. Some seasoning and over alder smoke would be my choice. Great meal on the trail.
I could smell those caribou ribs and steak right on the grill! Love the smell of Back Eddy's!!! Man that looked good! I'll have to try fish heads like you had done this spring.
Love bannock my wife’s mom is a Eastern band ( Deer Clan) Cherokee Elder we go every year to the Elders Dinner in Cherokee NC. Bannock and their Bean Balls are always sold out 1st oh man chestnut bread something else yum!
@@natashaseacrest6918 don’t have the recipe sorry. it’s a consistency of corn meal flour mixed with pinto beans made into a flour consistency they add a fat or lard roll them into balls and they boil them.
Guess I'm gonna have to save a fish head or two to try this out. Never really thought about anything tasty being on there besides the cheeks. That's what happens when you're born n raised in the states, kinda soft huh Andrew? Lol Definitely gonna give it a try. Maybe a carp or pike, or maybe I'll get lucky and pull a salmon or two out of the big pond once it warms up a bit. Thanks Andrew. Love your channel here. Very educational.
I think the problem is that most people are too rich. We don't need to eat those "lesser" cuts, kind of like it is beneath us. I never thought of eating fish heads, but I'll try it now!
Holy shit man those trout heads sure looked dandy! I've never tried it yet but eat alot of smoked trout, over the fire and bbq and have never thought about doing that! And I heard you saying that you can eat pine Martin! Interested about that! Watch all your videos! Earl from the valley
The only way Martin is palatable (removes the musk ...mostly) is if you marinade it for a day. Recipe: medium onion sliced thin, salt / pepper, pinch of red pepper, splash of vinegar, couple of bay leaves. After overnight marinade, grill over wood coals. Trust me, this is the way to go.
Great videos, never tried trout head but I'll give it a go. I always just cut the cheeks out. Still looking in the Peg for back eddies. Stay safe out there and keep the video's coming.
I use the fish heads for halibut bait, but i do enjoy fish head soup. Looking forward to the pine marten, I have never tried it either, I should though, i have enough of the little bastards in my back yard!
Hadeeh! Bro, was wondering about why there's no wolverine captures this season, maybe they figured out your scent? Or Rudys' scent? How about do a video about that fisher Ben caught? Not many of us have ever seen fisher in its elements. Thanks Andrew Keep your videos coming bro! 💪💪
Aanii, greetings, damn man, feast fit for a king, lol, last cook out I had was steak n peppers n venison sausage, hoolay, food taste bang on when cooked outside, enjoy men, shakyjake out.
You're on your way to 100,000 and I'm on my way to 1,000. We will see who gets to their goal first. Loser should have to send the other guy some fish hooks haha
Been curious about Backeddys since I started watching, and I just found out a store here in Winnipeg sells it. Making steaks Friday, should be a good'er. :)
