    Our Emerald Princess fall cruise starts in Quebec City and has no U.S, Stop except Boston, where we disembark. But we have two at-sea days.

    Wow! 30 cruises on Princess - 18 in the past 2 years - and the beds are heavenly! You are maybe the first I've heard of that have complained about them!

    • @maitre32
      @maitre32 7 месяцев назад

      I have heard plenty of complaints about the mattresses. The crew will admit - they are old.

    • @kstaffen-justlovescruising
      @kstaffen-justlovescruising 7 месяцев назад

      They put new beds in on the Emerald in 2016. So I guess that's old for mattresses that retail at about $2000. Except for the Regal, which only has the beds in Reserve and Full suites, the Luxury beds are on every other ship fleetwide. That said though, one of the things that most you tube reviews have pointed out is how comfy the beds are. 🤷‍♀Happy sailing!

      Agreed... have been on Star (retired), Royal, Ruby, Grand and Caribbean Princess and the beds were awesome. Will be on Emerald in October so I'll be sure to take notice!

      It may have been because of the bed configuration in our room and, therefore, the queen topper missing, but those were some horrible mattresses on the twins. Hard to know for sure since we didn’t have a queen bed.

    Whenever we go to an all inclusive resort in Mexico, the breakfast buffet is always American (Burnt to a crisp) bacon, might as well call it pork jerky...lol

    The shudder is caused by the prop (cavitation). Because the prop is spinning fast and the ship isn't really moving it creates a vacuum/bubbles when these "pop", water rushes in to fill it. That creates the shaking. Some ports they really have to power out of, and that's when you tend to notice it more. If they can keep the power (RPMs) down you won't notice it. It's pretty common, you just happened to be in an area of the ship (the rear) where you feel it more.

  • @richardgotshall2703

    When we sailed on Ruby Princess we could get lemonade any time near the buffet.

    The Sky Princess has the automatic motion lights. The next ship Enchanted princess does not. I think they heard the complaints. The floor ones are ok but the one by bathroom is way to bright and stays on for too long....

    *arms waving in 70's kungfu style* 3x3 Baby!!!! Love these!
    The shuddering in the aft of the ship seems to be a common issue for a lot of the older smaller ships. We had the issue on the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Valor. We are wondering how it is gonna be on our Carnival Sunrise cruise, we have an Aft Corner Balcony on that one. It may end up being like we have that old hotel Magic Fingers machine for our bed LoL

    We are the opposite of you….we don’t mind the slow service when dining! I would rather have tasteless food in the MDR than eating at the buffet. Not so much because of the food….but people not washing their hands (especially after going to the bathroom) people touching the food with their hands….kids coughing and playing with the food!

    • @Taste-Try-Travel
      @Taste-Try-Travel  6 месяцев назад

      Absolutely… we don’t mind slower service in the dining room. Just that usually when something is described as “casual dining”, it is a little faster… and we don’t even mind it being slower, but wish we would’ve known it would take so long before hand so we could plan on the 2 hours in a casual restaurant. 😊
      Couldn’t agree more with the buffet… sometimes the buffet can be a germ smorgasbord!🤪😜🤪

    We recently took a Viking River Cruise and our suite was located at the very back of the ship. We were surprised by all of the shaking so that must be normal.

    • @Taste-Try-Travel

    We will be on our first Princess cruise in June 2024, to Alaska for our first time as well. 14 days, will be our longest cruise yet. Looking to compare our own experience to the various reviews we have seen regarding Princess. Most reviews have been very positive on the mattresses. Disney Fantasy onion soup was as terrible as reviewers stated so hoping the Royal Princess onion soup is as good as reviewers have stated.

      Yeah… it could’ve been because we converted the bed to singles and the queen topper was missing…. hard to know. But whatever the reason, that bed was bad. 😝

      Our first cruise was on Princess to Alaska. We did both the land and cruise package. I wasn’t real crazy about the cruise part I went because I really wanted to see Alaska and this seemed the best way to go. Well, after our vacation both my husband and I were hooked on cruising. We love to cruise and we love Princess they are always our go to. We did go on a cruise with friends on a different cruise line it was nice but very crowded and the service was just not the same as Princess. We have been on 9 cruises 8 of them with Princess. We are going on a 14 day cruise in April it will be on Princess. I hope you enjoy your Alaska Cruise it is beautiful place to see. 😊

    Princess is considered a near-luxury line while MSC is considered budget, we’ve sailed YC several times and love it but are looking at other options, how would you compare Princess to MSC YC?

    • @Taste-Try-Travel
      @Taste-Try-Travel  6 месяцев назад +2

      Yacht Club is superior to Princess in every way… and that’s no knock on Princess (we love Princess too), but MSC has knocked it out of the park when it comes to a near-perfect cruise experience with Yacht Club. Princess is definitely nice, but it really doesn’t compare. 😊

    I’ve cruised with Princess many times. I find it very hard to believe that there wasn’t “American” bacon daily. 90% of Princess passengers on this itinerary - I was on this cruise - are American. They always cater to American palates. Perhaps the tray of bacon happened to be empty at that moment? I had/saw bacon every day.

      Experiences can (and do) vary from cruise to cruise and ship to ship. It’s a 100% certainty someone else will have a different opinion, but we can only give ours and hope it helps folks navigate their own experience. We would never even think of telling someone what they should or shouldn’t feel about a cruise.
