Kochi Water metro is funded by the Govt of Kerala and German firm KfW. Overall cost of the Kochi Water Metro project is ₹1,137 crore. Construction started in 2016.
Kochi Metro Rail Limited that operates the Kochi Metro and Kochi Water Metro. KMRL is a joint venture company with equal equity contribution of Government of India and Government of Kerala.
@@manumudgal4988 Yes but KMRL is only contributing 26 % of the project. Remaining 74% by Kerala government. And even out of that 26% , half as you said i.e 13% is owned by govt of India and 13% by government of Kerala. So effectively only 13% contribution is done by GOI in total project.
@@manumudgal4988 KMRL is the exection agency. It doesnt own Water metro. KMRL also constructed roads and vyttila mobility hub. They als construcing massive bus station in kochi
This should be used on Gangaji river too in UP and Bihar in big way. During early British times, the British sailed on steam powered large flat boats from Bay of Bengal right upto Garh on Gangaji river (near Meerut), and from Garh the British traveled on horses etc to Meerut Cantt or Delhi Cantt. Even today, if you go to Garh, you will find rusted remnants of those old steam boats near Ganga Ghat. The Gangaji water from Garh onwards till Bay of Bengal is deep, wide and slow flowing, ideal for use of comparatively large boats. Though in last half century, few barrage have been built on Gangaji, so same boat cannot travel from Garh till Bay of Bengal now continously. Would have to change boat at barrage sites to next leg of journey. But such water metro is certainly practical and possible from Garh till Bay of Bengal on Gangaji, passing through UP, Bihar and West Bengal.
We in Kerala, badly needed Silverline project, which is a straight rail service , connecting one end to other end of Kerala within 4 hours, in short time. This is a speed rail project, and it's cost also less compare to present rail available in entire Kerala. BJP and Congress are opposing this as they don't want this in present Government s tenure.
Do you know what 75 knots is? This is a passenger ferry. Not a speed boat for racing. 🤦🏻♂️ it's similar to starting a bus service and demanding it travels at 200 kph. 🤦🏻♂️
Hail Communist netas. Hail literacy. Stop making people fools (building, temples, statues of actors). 😂 Let youth read and learn. Malayaleespoli alley 😊
Everybody knows that this is a plan by Kerala government. Mr Modi already told in the inaugural ceremony this is a model to other states. Why yaar , this kind of cheap messages
He brought a Vandebharat to kerala to counter this project, but that was a disastar. Just to make the prime minister happy, we invited him to inaugrate a real project, and also to teach him how to spend the public money.
Modi has nothing to do with this. As usual he takes the credit for inaugurating the project which is the fruit of the hardwork of people who have nothing to do with the central government.
Learn to pronounce and spell city and state names like it is. Its insulting and kinda embarassing for a news agency to not learn pronounciation of native regional names.
This is called Development ❤
Mumbai needs this critically to decongest roads + develop connectivity to the islands around Mumbai
My beautiful Kerala 🌴🌴🌴🌴♥️♥️♥️
Such a great initiative government of Kerala ❤

It was very much needed for connectivity.
Modi has not given any coconut to Kerala yet. This project is entirely owned by Kerala Govt. Modi looking to take credit in Chulu. A lot of media too.

Why are you not talking about a single word about the funding of water metro? 😂
Kerala government ❤ without RSS and bjp ❤ kerala number one
Not Koochin it’s Kochi
Less powered slow boats that need to have high speeds of 75 knots atleast
This we can enjoy. Not like train, where we need to go long distances. There we need straight rails, so that we can move fast
This is not water sport, it is water transportation
Speeds set low deliberately so as to avoid waves and make travel more enjoyable.
