    Thank you. I am perimenopausal , 44 years old and i have been supplementing with herbal supplements ( red clover, wild yam, vitex, soy isoflavones ) and have great success in managing symptoms of dropping hormone levels. My question is, if the above mentioned supplements will not be enough in the future to manage symptoms as i transition to menopause and would like to try BHRT ( transdermal )would I be able to continue using these supplements along BHRT or is it contraindicated ?

    • @dr.patriciamills
      @dr.patriciamills  Месяц назад +2

      Hi, great question! As far as we know there is no contraindication to BHRT and herbal remedies but this is also because there are no studies assessing this. So at present whether joint use is recommended is unknown, but monitoring one's response is very important regardless of the therapies used. If side effects are noticed then talking to the prescriber and deciding how to proceed together is important. Hope this helps!

    Do you recommend a multivitamin that may capture a few of these in the right dosages? It seems like a lot of pills to take a day. I did start chlorella.

    • @dr.patriciamills
      @dr.patriciamills  Месяц назад +1

      Unfortunately not - the doses in multi pills are much lower than that needed, like microdosing but not in a good way 😉

    I am a 64yr old menopausal woman and started HRT about 3m ago. I am using estrogen gel and progesterone pills. I am having breast aching. Should I start taking Calcium deglucerate for this? Is DIM the same thing? Is it counterproductive to use the two together? Gosh it is so difficult to try and figure out what I should and shouldn’t be taking as far as supplements.

    • @dr.patriciamills
      @dr.patriciamills  29 дней назад

      When I hear people say their breasts are aching from HRT it makes me think that they should touch base with their prescribing doctor so that the doctor can adjust the dose. Taking calcium d glucarate (which is different from DIM in that it helps specificallly with estrogen detox) should not be to treat side effects of too much HRT. Rather it should be used on top of a good HRT regimen. Hope this helps!

    Could you list which of these supplements you take together?

    • @dr.patriciamills
      @dr.patriciamills  4 дня назад

      I take most of these at the same time (spaced through the day if needed but at that time of day, morning, afternoon or night I take them together). I try to have the fiber, silica and chlorella separately (not together, separate from each other as well). Some people who are on medications need to take them separate from those. Hope this helps!

    Do we need to buy these separately or is there a supplement(s) we can take

    • @dr.patriciamills
      @dr.patriciamills  Месяц назад +2

      I find that combined supplements don't have enough of a dose of each supplement, so you get microdoses which are probably not enough to have effect.

      I adopt a holistic approach to balancing all hormones are they are interrelated, so if it were my I'd use the supplements however also watch the 'How to eat for hormone health' video on my RUclips channel (use the searchbar or look for it in my Hormone Health Playlist), as diet plays a significant role. Hope this helps!
