What? All credit to Alex for raising awareness but to state no one knew or had witnessed these heinous crimes ? Is just outright ignorance. This shit was happening in the Westend 30 years ago. It would start with your peers then it would be the older brothers/cousins who would turn up & before one knows it? It was old men business owners (in their 40’s & 50’s) who were attending parties with 14,15 &. 16 year old girls. So with all due respect the good people of this city have been well aware of the rumours for decades.

My sister in law lived in Westmorland street and was a social worker and my brother worked with people with mental health issues and troubled kids. They called daily to report it and went to every community meeting and were constantly told by the police that it was just racism. Yet the police came out right away when my sister called and described two teenagers injecting in her close that happened to be white. The police ever turned up for the Roma kids that were being taken away into black Jeep’s every night and being dropped back the next day. Never at school. It was clear these children were being sex trafficked and my sister in law went to everyone she could think of and she was never listened to. The police and politicians KNEW! Years of them reporting it so the paper trail and car descriptions and number plates were all told to the police! I’m glad there’s now momentum but this was back in around 2008 so it’s been going on for a very long time.

Bloody hell ! This just shows you that the police and politicians both are involved in the trafficking and just couldn't give two Fu€ k$ about these poor youngsters. Thank your family for at least trying, who knows, maybe things are changing now and your family have had a hand in it

A taxi driver I knew well in Glasgow told me the exact same thing. A Romanian guy offered his daughter, a child, because he didn't have the £10 taxi-fare.
The fact that this goes on in Nicola Sturgeon's voting area just demonstrates that she's more concerned with securing votes than the children in her district.
The leadership who covers, protects, ignores this monstrous issue, are usually involved in it, connected to it some way, or the gangs are their suppliers too.
She was more interested in being the one who gave us Independence. Look how that ended. And she's been caught with her hand in the pot. Maybe if she had focused on putting the police back on the streets and more of them would have served her better and left a legacy behind.

It wrecks people. They can't build relationships then they have children and they can't look after them so the cycle continues. This results in a broken society. It's heartbreaking.

I like this guy, he seems genuine and wants to help other people. Most of the other interviewees I have seen just want to say how hard they are and how much time they have done.
Another excellent podcast James, explosive and very hard hitting, this is an extremely contentious subject, but with Alex at the helm, I really hope and believe this will gain traction and people will have to sit up and listen as well as investigate.
We need to protect our young people within our own communities now more then ever, this culture of ignorance and “ it’s nothing to do with me, so I will just walk by and let someone else deal with it “ has to stop!!

I've wrote to Nicola about the health and safety issues raised by Alex... The filth the these poor children are forced to live in are unacceptable...Especially during a pandemic
The sexual abuse, selling children for money, should be high on our Govs agenda...hard to change the culture if throwing your rubbish from windows is your culture then that'll take a long time.

I always struggle with these types of podcasts I was completely oblivious as to what was going on being fortunate to have been brought up up in a fairly decent area and a tiny bit of me wishes I had never found out, it’s so difficult to understand how anyone can harm children like this but I have to be realistic and accept that we live in such a fucked up world built on lies and manipulation. I can’t ever go back to that world where I thought this kind of stuff was a rare one off and I really take my hat off to these guys who put themselves out there to prevent it, the more information that is out there regarding this topic has to put pressure on these people who have hidden away in the shadows behind their high profile jobs, well done for putting it out there James as there is so many in society just like myself a few years ago who have no idea of the extent that this goes.
This is why the people in power try so hard to keep it hush hush. It's too much of a problem that goes on in these certain areas that if they keep the information in those communities alone then it doesn't become a nationwide issue.
We always attempt to down play these issues because we're maybe not as bad as other parts of the world but this happening to just one bairn is too much!
