  • I decided to buy the Jackery 290 and test it out! I test how long it last while running a diesel heater and how long it last running a gaming laptop! I also test how long it takes to charge. I hope this helps some people when looking to buy one of these units. It was surpassingly good!

    Thanks for mentioning that it charges lap tops. I'm heading to the mountains for a month to hike etc. and I have online university classes so I want to be able to keep my laptop charged to do my papers while away. Much appreciated buddy. Do you charge it in your running vehicle? Does it take longer to charge in a wall outlet than in a car?

    Harbor Freight isn't the only place you can get this.

      Not only that, but at the time I was shopping at 70 bucks cheaper at Best Buy.

    I have the 240 I bought last year and I really like it. If I had a do over I'd get the 300 for the extra outlet but still like the 240 overall. I couldn't beat the price for 199.99 at the time.

    I have also had good experiences with my 240, aside from charging devices it also has enough juice to power up my electric blanket to warm up my sleeping bag before I turn in while camping.

      Great comment! I have the 240 that I have used successfully for 2 Colorado summer camping seasons at 10,000ft+ elevation for precisely those uses. I go 2 nights on one charge using it in that way.

    Keep in mind, charge rate is brutal on batteries. Companies that are slamming high charge rates will cost them in the long run with battery life. Maybe jackery has it figured out...... Time will tell, but that other company was bullshittin about every other spec, so i wouldn't hold their charge rate at a very high value. Just sayin.... Awesome and honest video. Thanks for that!

      Yeah fast charging does damage the cells, we will see maybe I'll do some more testing comparing them

      Battery chemistry makes a huge difference on battery life. Jackery uses straight lithium ion batteries. Bluetti uses lithium iron phosphate batteries (LFP). LFP is more stable, can charge faster, but will not have as much usable power from similar size pack. However it will probably last much longer. And Bluetti has more features than Jackery. I guess it’s all in what you need. I am leaning toward Jackery for its usable battery capacity.

    Will this Jackery 400 run my mini fridge for camping , 20qt. that can run on 12V or 110AC & has mini compressor & fan that peaks at 45 watts . Also is that a 12V cigarette female end in the Jackery?

    • @ModernDayViking
      @ModernDayViking  15 дней назад

      Yes it can run a fridge. I use mine to run my camp fridge and it works great. My fridge is a 40qt.

      No, it's only rated at 200 watts, a microwave is 500watt+, most are 1000watt.

    • @ModernDayViking

      Because the jackery 300 is a superior unit for around the same price. If you are ordering online I recommend the jackery 300 not the 290 from harbor freight.

    Ya have advertisements on ya videos …..hopefully ya monetized 💰💰💰💰
    Getting a few 💰 at least for ya effort

    • @simpleKyle
      @simpleKyle Год назад

      No. They are not monetized. A year or so ago RUclips decided they can run as many commercials on any videos they want, and keep all of the monies.
      Even if the creator opted out of all monetization; even if the video is considered "in violation of TOS" and demonetized and counted as a strike towards channel ban; and especially if the channel is small.
      Ad-pocalypse 3.0 is what the community called it iirc...
      Best to just get an ad blocker and tip the content creators you think earned it.
