- HP LaserJet 1200/1300 Blinking Оrange Light Error - SOLUTION
When the orange light on your HP LaserJet 1200/1300 printer is blinking, it indicates that there is an error or issue with the printer. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:
Check the toner cartridge: The first step is to make sure that the toner cartridge is installed correctly and that it has not run out of toner. You can try removing the toner cartridge and shaking it gently to redistribute the toner. If the cartridge is low on toner, you may need to replace it.
Check for paper jams: Another common cause of the blinking orange light is a paper jam. Open the printer and check for any paper that may be stuck in the printer. If you find any paper, carefully remove it.
Check the printer cable: Ensure that the printer cable is properly connected between the printer and your computer. Try unplugging and re-plugging the cable to ensure a secure connection.
Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on again.
Reset the printer: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer. To do this, turn off the printer, press and hold the "Go" button, and turn the printer back on while still holding the "Go" button. Keep holding the button until the orange light stops blinking and the printer starts up again.
This is great video for repairing blinking light problem. My printer also has light printing before blinking light issue. As a printer tech for 10 years, I can easily deduce the problem came from ECU. Normally replace the board will solve the problem. But this is an old printer and I doubt I can find any new board. So I ordered the cheapest one online and it fixed the issue. But it only lasted a few days and the problem reappeared. Without your video, I would junk the printer. Repair is a lost art and no one wants to repair printer anymore. Thanks again for your video.
Neste mundo de verdades e mentiras, fui surpreendido. Minha impressora estava exatamente com esse erro, fiz o procedimento da troca dos capacitores e graças a pessoas como vc, minha impressora normalizou. Brilliant! I had a few extra cables to disconnect and the controller board layout was a little different, but replacing those two caps fixed it! I only had 47uf 50v on hand instead of 35v, but that would only make it better! Thank you! Gotta luv a well-known "Common Mode Failure", and a kind person that shares the fix on RUclips!
UPDATE: So the flashing yellow problem is fixed after replace the two caps. I get a steady green light when I load paper. But if I hold the go button for 5 seconds and let go (test page), the green light flashes 8 seconds, then the most starts, and only runs for 1.4 seconds. Then all lights turn on, and pressing Go gives me both green lights (fuser). But the fuser tests good. So I decided to replace all the 47uf caps, and I actually found one that tested at only 7uf (bad for sure). But even after that -- still only runs for 1.4 seconds when trying to print a page, then goes to system error. Any ideas?
Turn on the printer. When the yellow button starts flashing, press the large button on the printer and indicate which of the three lights light up when the button is pressed.
@@printhelper I used to have the problem you describe, but I replaced the capacitors. Now I have new problem.
When I turn the power on, I get the normal small green light. But when I try to print something, the small green light flashes for about 5 seconds, then the motor starts, followed by all three lights ON. If I hold the big green button in, only the small yellow light goes out, and nothing happens. It's acting like it's not triggering a paper pickup. Don't know why, there is paper.
The error indication describes the problem with fuser. Check the fuser connection to the board
MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS ME AYUDASTE UNA VARVARIDAD, QUE DIOS TE TENGA EN LA GLORIA, VENGO LUCHANDO CON ESTE PROBLEMA HACE MUCHO
Very useful vid ,gave it a like. Mine were still okay but replaced those 2 and another two 47µF on that ECU board with low ESR types.
Remember to check the page feed solenoid for perished foam. Its just under the fan on the right hand side.
The foam was supposed to be a sound damper but when it perishes, it gets sticky and the solenoid doesnt release. This causes many pages to be fed and results in paper jams.
On my one, I just cleaned off the foam with acetone and glued on a small slice of cork with double sided tape.
I cannot thank you enough, your excellent instructions have enabled me to fix my printer. It has been broken for so long I can't believe it's working! Thank you! :)
I didn't think it was possible, but it worked perfectly , Thanks a lot !!!!
Hello, I'm from Iran, I'm trying to solve this problem with your training, although I don't understand your spoken language, but you explained very well. Thank you
Muchas gracias por tu amable información,
se resolvió el problema, Cartucho de Tóner vacío.
Hi. I didn't have 47uF/35V capacitors, so I used two 100uF/50V capacitors. I measured these capacitors earlier and they actually had 86 uF. After changing the capacitors, to 2 x 100uF, the orange diode is still blinking. Is it because the capacitors are twice as large?
Turn on the printer. When the yellow button starts flashing, press the large button on the printer and indicate which of the three lights light up when the button is pressed.
Great , it really works. Thank you!!

Judging where the capacitors are located, it appears that they are in a power supply.
Nice
