When she was putting together her first album, she wanted a couple songs that were in a very different style than she normally did. Out of the 5 new songs she made for the album, 2 were big departures. One of them was The Great Wanderer. For the lyrics, she says it reminds her of how being a Vtuber is very different than a regular entertainer and how there's an extra barrier between her and her fans, as well as her and other entertainers and it makes the job a little more isolating. She felt the lyrics monii came up with lent itself very well to that vibe. The other song that was very different from her style was Retrospective. The new songs from her album that WERE in her style were Pineapple, Love Rush, and Sleep Talking.
Nice reaction! Just like you said, I think The Great Wanderer is one the songs I like to sing along to the most in my playlist, and definitely my favorite from Kiara so far!
This was one of the five new Kiara songs on Point of View, her first album, the others being Pineapple, Love Rush, Retrospective and Sleep Talking, all of which ended up with MVs. I feel like that's why it's a bit different in sound. Since Kiara had to come up with five new songs that were going to release all at once, she likely just wanted to vary it up a bit and try different sounds. I think this is even more the case with Retrospective, an even further departure for Kiara, but you'll see that when you get to it (I assume it's next for you, unless you're going back for Love Rush).
Thats true. So far she has shown a lot more variety than i would have expected. Without knowing all the earlier songs and getting all that information from you all, i would still think she only does KPOP songs @.@
Always found this song and the lyrics could fit Mumei and her lore so well especially after hearing “mumei” 🤔 I almost wonder if this was written for her and somehow it ended up with Kiara singing it.

That would fit very well, that is true. But i think it would be very different from the current song.
This song does not sound like City Pop to me. It sounds like Imogen Heap. I am not sure what she classifies as, maybe Indie Pop.
Wow, don't know what that is... It is a very distinct style that i've never heard, but I'm just a normie pleb, so....
