    Man, this puzzle took me soooo long. Several sessions just fidgeting with it for an hour or more. Even though I eventually solved it, I have no idea how the solution came about. There was some logic involved, but mainly frustrated jiggling.Taking it apart wasn't so bad, but getting it back together was the nightmare. I bought 10 different metal Hanayamas in a bundle and I've solved 4 so far.

    Thank you for showing us such an awesome puzzle and I’m totally impressed that not only you managed to solve it but you also were able to remember such a lot of complex moves in order to be able show us how to solve the puzzle in real time.

    I'm never quite sure about Hanayama puzzles. They're masterfully made, gorgeously constructed, but I feel like they're often not puzzles you can really "intuit" the solution so much as finagling with your hands until things start moving right.

    • @brunk2835
      @brunk2835 4 месяца назад

      I do not have every Hanayama puzzle, but I have to agree with you. Still, there are some hanayama puzzles that do have a story or logical solution. The most complicated but satisfying one, for me, was cast infinity. At first it may seem random, but once you understand the single “rule” on how to move the pieces it makes perfect sense

    I do software architecture, engineering and I bought a whole bunch of Hanayama puzzles to get my head into a 3D volume solving mode after watching all your puzzle videos (none of the solutions, that's my job haha). One thing I find super valuable is the ability to track state of a puzzle, but before that, one needs to be able to name pieces, and learn the uniqueness of each piece. I like watching your solves after I've solved it to find out the differences in the wordings you use to describe the parts, orientations (and where to hold), and moves. For example, I found the linked chain the most valuable moment to track orientation as I was nearly finished solving, so I tracked exactly how the chain was, but I did it differently than you: I laid the chain flat on the ground but made certain all the flat sides were facing upward, a simple slight rotation difference but otherwise same as yours. Also the orientation of the Hourglass (texture side vs flat text side) for insertion/removal moment of the Han piece. This way I tend to almost have the reassembly memorized by the time I get to the final solution. I find your videos tremendous, wonderful. Keep on puzzling, friend.

    I love this puzzle. Even after watching this I’m going to buy it because this would still be a huge challenge for me to solve and get back together.
    I already have 5 in the mail lol guess I’m getting more.

    I was able to follow quite easily, but just from watching, I would have messed up the sequence a few times. The hardest part for me was getting it into a straight line, and into the two smaller pieces. They changed my perspective on how to approach the puzzle, otherwise I think the rest was do-able.
    Thanks for sharing this video with us :)
