(And interesting too that loads of young descendants of Holocaust emigres and survivors are availing themselves of the offer of German passports.)
I came to this video already an admirer of Previn and his accomplishments. His interview with the great NPR host Liane Hansen for Weekend Edition on the release of his book "No Minor Chords" was one of the best things I ever heard. Then this video in which he not only speaks about his great music career in the U.S. but he also speaks at length in German about his early life. What a guy! (I do not think there is anyone today who matches his artistic brilliance.)

I consider Previn among the greatest musicians this country has ever produced, along with Bernstein and Copland.
