I had an especially hard week with my husband who has dementia. I needed to relax and find a quiet place, so I went winter camping with Kenny. Thank you Kenny your video gave me peace.
Hey Kenny. My dad was the one that showed me your channel a couple years ago. We watch your videos every Tuesday. And we always talk about them the next day. Your camping spots, whether he’d been to them, your food, etc. I lost him to gallbladder cancer on Sunday. I swear I’ll watch each of your vids at least twice so you don’t lose views. Thanks for the wholesome content, and keep up the great work.
I'm sorry. It's hard losing a loved one. I believe by continuing to do the nice things you once did with them, brings them closer. May your Dad rest in peaceful sleep. May you grieve well but not for so long. And may your happiest memories of him prevail❤
I'm so sorry for your loss. You have our family deepest condolences. I appreciate you sharing how the videos brought back memories for him. Hearing that makes all the effort worth it. We will keep your family on our thoughts and prayers.
Look at that…a year old and getting top billing! Bravo, Toby! I agree with others…if camping closer to home gets you more time to relax - go for it, especially during these winter months. Have a great rest of your week!
I will have to go back there soon. That might be a good spot to check out after the shoulder surgery. I really appreciate the support for the channel. Thank you. 😊
@@KennyOfAllTrades That might be a good plan! I’m 6 years post op from major shoulder surgery on my dominant arm myself. It was challenging as I was in an immobilizer for 3 months. BUT! I had a great surgeon and that shoulder is 110% now! It’s good to get a plan in place now for your recovery time. Also - no thanks needed! I am delighted to support your channel (wish it could be more!) and am so happy to see it growing week by week! Not only do you bring peace and relaxation to so many, but you have been such a GREAT Pit Bull ambassador! As a Pit Bull mom myself, that is priceless!! So, thank YOU!!! 🙏🏻
Retired disabled garbage man living in northern California. Watch a lot of camping videos. Love your channel Kenny of all trades. Thank you for taking me on your adventures.☕️🙏🇺🇸
Toby has worked his way up the corporate ladder and sets a great example for those young pups out there. Be cute and loveable and keep your dog parents warm at night while camping in the snow. Well done Toby. You deserve it.
Oh and I think that’s the first time I heard Toby speak there in the intro there bud. Great video Kenny and the bean soup is the meal that keeps on giving if you know what I mean. Haha👊
Close to your house save some gas and camp longer sounds like a game changer ❣️oh my gosh you both are blessed to have each other I just love ❤ Toby boy
The sounds of the fire, the company of a friend, and the views of the wilderness. Tuesday nights are special, relaxing, and appreciated. Thank you and Toby for all you do to bring joy to all the viewers. God Bless and may your holidays be memorable.
GRANDMA’S BEAN SOUP TIP❤️ My grandma always made the BEST bean soup. Years ago, while learning to make it, I would tell her “the beans never really got soft😕” She said “You’re adding the tomatoes too early!” Once you add the tomatoes, the beans stop cooking. Who knew? Ever since learning that, I taste-test the beans for tenderness, then add the tomatoes! Perfection!😉
Camping spot is isolated, no people around, is by a beautiful lake, is in a forest. If Toby likes it, I think it’s perfect! Great video, and I can’t wait to try your soup recipe!
Very wonderful to see you and Toby sir. Very, very wonderful. Thank you for the consistency and for continuing to remain a bright light in this world filled with darkness. Can't wait to see you next week sir. Please take care of yourself and please warmest regards to the girls 😊
I look forward to your videos so much. It offers so much serenity to this stressful world. Just remember that you don’t owe us anything, just that you so these adventures for yourself and and we get to ride along
Thank you Kenny and Toby for sharing your life with us!!! My husband and I look forward to seeing you so much!!! It is a joy to spend time with you ☺️!!!
What a great place to camp! I hope you and Toby go back here again. The ice lake looks beautiful & would love to see the water❤ Have a great week😃 Best boy Toby🦴🐾
Hi Kenny, so glad you went back there, it's just so peaceful, and Mother nature did one hell of a job creating that place. Take care and travel safe 👋🇨🇦
Hi kenny❤&Toby❤️, Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 🤶 to you and your family❤. I remember that awesome camping spot from last year. Would love to see more of it, and at summertime... whatever you do, all your camping spots are amazing. Thank you for being who you are and your dedication to your RUclips channel and your skills in all you do. Dan💚
Hi Kenny! I totally understand the joy of finding a camp spot near home when your leaving after work on Friday and heading home Sunday. Makes all the difference especially during winter. We are headed out Friday (after work) and have about a 2 1/2 hour drive. King Tides are happening on the Oregon coast. Happy camping 🎉
Had subscribed a month or so ago and have been catching up on the earlier videos. These are so relaxing to watch. I find myself looking forward to the new videos on Tuesday.
Alright Alright Alright Yet another most excellent weekend video ya made there KOAT and TOAT!!! Such a relaxing and peaceful weekend to take away all the stress of the past week! Ok, I are supper this week before watching, as I always get hungry when you cook. Eating supper before hand didn’t work…that bean soup looked scrumptdelicious 😋 🤤 and now I wants some! That smoked bacon has to take it to the next level!!! As always, stay safe out there…..
I grew up in the north and still love the sound of crunching snow underfoot. I really enjoy your calm demeanor and your adventures, thanks for sharing your camping experiences!
Thank you Kenny and Toby for sharing your peaceful places and.yummy recipes with us. For those of us who cannot go there ourselves,we are consoled by the peaceful, beautiful places you bring us and show us. I hope that you are consoled too Kenny ❤
Kenny, I have spent a fair amount of time on the ice. I have seen even with 6 inches of ice, areas with springs or current reduce that thickness to unsafe margins. After a few times of breaking through the ice in what I felt were safe conditions, I no longer venture out without my spud, which I thump into the ice every few meters. If it doesn't go through or draw water, the ice is safe for walking on. I also made ice awls, two joined by a string over my neck. These are an inch and a quarter dowel 8 inches long and a medium length wood screw into one end and an eye in the other. Sharpen the screw and fasten two of them together with a length of cordage and hang around your neck. Chest deep water can be difficult to climb back out, and even water over your head if you walk with the spud crosswise to your body if you go through it will most likely stop you from going under. You use the spiked wooden dowels to give you traction to pull yourself out of the water. As a trained scuba diver, I have dove through the ice on several occasions. Not my most pleasurable dives, but a dive club winter activity I now take a pass on. Even with training a dive equipment passed thought the hole, getting out was not easy. Be extra cautious as you are on your own out there.
Beautiful campsite Kenny. Would be great to see you back there again. Toby's clothing is so cute 😊 I'm a big fan of bean soup. Good to see how you made it.
Like I said in my last comment. You should do audio books. You have a very calming voice and your channel is really good. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I have been walking in the woods since I was 12 years old. My dad always told me, everything in the woods is more scared of you than you should be of it.
Was up North of Grand Rapids scouting for dispersed campsites that Saturday. Out of 15 locations I checked out, only found one campsite that I could add to my list. I was going to camp where you were staying on my way back home if I was too tired. Had enough coffee in me to make it home, but wished I would have stopped and met you! Love your channel, always looking forward to the next weeks video.
That would have been cool. The previous week, I had someone recognize the camper. He stopped in, and we must have talked about campsites for 45 minutes. It was fun sharing stories.
Being from East TN I make bean soup all the time but your recipe added some things I never thought of! The neighbors I feed will be surprised next time I make a big pot! I make buttermilk white cornbread in an iron skillet with mine.
This campsite is really nice. I enjoy you camping in both spots. It’s also close to your house, and to me, a longer video is always welcome. But the best is your night walks. It takes me back to when I was a kid. Thanks again for another great weekend in nature.👌
Beautiful place as most of them are. Really worth a return trip. Happy Hollidays. Toby would sure miss these trips as much as you, Kenny. What a wonderful way to raise him

Looks like you had a nice relaxing weekend. Awesome. I stayed home and did the same, absolutely nothing. It's nice to just be able to relax for a weekend. This next weekend coming up I plan on going and finding some good Arizona desert spots for camping in the cooler months. I hope you and Toby have an amazing week. I also hope you are doing well and adjusting well with Mandy living with you. Thank you for a great vidoe.
Another awesome video, bub! Would definitely enjoy a longer video back at the site you had used the picnic tables for a wind break! Hope you’re doing well and that y’all have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!
The first campsite was a great spot but I think I liked the other one you walked to even better. Nice to see just the natural surroundings and some snow. The birch trees seem to stand out even more in the woods with the snow on the ground ! Toby has such an inquisitive look while your sitting by the fire! Thanks for another peaceful end to my day
