Deep breath of discomfort, Now lady's and gents, this one is a sad one, a sad one indeed.
Now i first came across this location way back in 2022, not knowing that this car was a stone throw away from me,
Back then everything was extremely over grown, and nobody had broken into the garage due to it being blocked in by a car and most of it was sealed up. so unbeknownst to me inside was a Renault turbo 2.
As you know this car had several WRC victories throughout the early 1980s in the national championships in France, Portugal, Switzerland, Hungary, and Spain, as well as victories in international rallies throughout Europe, with wins in iconic rallies such as Monte Carlo.
So to find one quite literally abandoned in a shed in the Midlands well, words escape my mouth, if there were ever a car id want to rescue well no prizes to which one it would be.
This has to be if not the best car i've found to date, and annoyingly, was right in front of my nose all along and me not knowing it, had i have known i would of certainly made damn sure that it wouldn't have been subjected to all the vandalism and theft it has had to endure,
This car is a legend and should be treated as such, certainly not to be stripped to make a quick penny or two,
Ive seen several posts about this car and each time i've seen it pop up something else has gone missing, i really hope the owner pulls his finger out and does something about it before the southside wall falls on top of it, or before someone else gets the bright idea and strips it more......

The Renault 5 Turbo or R5 Turbo is a sport hatchback automobile launched by the French manufacturer Renault at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1980. The car was primarily designed for rallying, but was also sold in a street version.
A total of 4,987 (1,820 Turbo 1 and 3,167 Turbo 2) R5 Turbos were manufactured during the six-year production run.

@@pauldixon3384 Absolutely. Had an F Reg bought for 700 quid in early 2000. Drove it everywhere including taking my American relatives on a huge tourist run. Apart from a clutch cable it never let me down. Cheers.

I had a 5 GTX in black, same cloth interior. Those are the most comfortable seats you will ever find in a car. They actually pivot on their bases son you can raise and lower the height of the seat squab. Good little engine too.

Good morning stu great second parter mate I used to like the sneaking about videos mate that means its got a lambda sensor for a catalytic converter which where introduced to cars from 1992
Bosch is one of the pioneers in exhaust treatment and is known as the inventor of the lambda sensor. In 1976 Volvo Cars presented a world first in the environmental area - the three-way catalytic converter with Lambda sensor for exhaust emission control.
All cars except that poor Cortina are SORN . The tax on the Cortina was due Jan 1986 !
So it looks like when they got bored or the cars were in a bad mechanical state maybe they just parked them up and that's that. Sad times for a lot of cars.Good revisit.

I did own two Renault 5 Gordene, or sometimes known as Alpina, they had the same base engine as the turbo 2, I belive thos seats where only fitted in thos two models,

Its a shame them cars outside just sat there rotting only good for spare parts the ax could be saved shame about the Renault 5 as they are rare as well never seen them with alloys on before but the house is just as bad no way hes liveing there and not for years anyway
