It's 2022 and I've found your video. I attempted to pull apart my E Image GH06 fluid head to replace the mounting stud for a thicker one. I pulled the panning ball off and some pins fell out. I tried to to reassemble it for ages but with no success. I watched you pull yours apart and it was the same internals. It allowed me to get mine working again. So a big thank you from Australia. Keep making videos, you've got a talent

Dude. I am here for the same reason. But with a GH10. That's hilarious. The difference is I just opened it because i was curious to see the insides.

Also, I'd be very grateful if you could lend me a hand. I am willing to exchange whatsapp or just e-mail if you prefer. I just need someone that's been there to take look at it and tell me what step i'm missing. I understand if it's not something you're comfortable with but, in any case, let me know.

@@popotade4621 Me too. I opened my GH10 and got the same problem. Did you solve your problem?

@@SuthepKritsanavarin I'm sorry that you made the same mistake. I think I kinda fixed it. It works for most things, but I don't think it'll ever be the same unless it gets professional help (which the company does not provide, at least where I am at). From what I remember, you have to play around with the springs and try to figure out in which positions they were originally placed. Assuming you didn't lose any when you opened the head.

@@popotade4621 I found only two springs. How many this head have?

I had the same problem on a similar head. The issue is not spring-related, but affects the amount of friction effect between that "gears" and the fixed parts of the head... The very problem is that I didn't figured out how to get that friction effect restored to the original level. :(

Maybe try a little graphite shaving from a pencil. I know that helps with friction with stuck legs on a tripod.

@@user-zv2qv6xf9m thank you! Do you mean that I have to try with graphite instead of the grease? In that point it was present a considerable amount of grease. I tried several types of grease, but none made the magic. I will try with graphite...

@@travisbarker1982 from my experience graphite is best used in dry applications. Mostly for things like sticky tripod legs. You might need to clean off the part. Pick one grease with a decent vescocity. Try stretching or replacing the little push spring. It's been a while since I fixed mine but I might've used a spring from a guitar pickup. To replace the worn out one.

@@user-zv2qv6xf9m Thank you again! The springs seems to be ok (both "shafts" works ok and block perfectly the gears, providing to good engage/disengage combinations). I think that my problem could be due to a worn washer or some kind of this low tolerance mechanical combinations that are making low resistance to sliding, providing a low friction level.

Ok so these heads and some others are a total rip of satchler, my question is how well do they hold up compared to the real thing at 1/4-1/3 the price?
