I think that’s just a myth that has continued for some reason - perhaps because of its popularity back when it came out. I rarely smell other people wearing this these days. Ex boyfriends these days are statistically going to be wearing the most popular fragrances like sauvage.

Another thing worth Mention Ing is that fragrance reviewers love to bash on jpg le male cause "is old" but the reality normal People do not go smelling and askinh everybody what they are wearing. That is why eros still doing as is doing cause is good period.

For those who want an actual shave soap to match, artisan Summer Break Soaps "Prom King" is supposed to be based on this fragrance. You'll also need a shave brush, of course, if you don't already have one.
I’ve never met a person who *hated* Le Mâle (original). I know a lot of people who are into fragrances but can’t really stand a lot of notes like ambroxan and ethyl maltol, and those are the people who tend to enjoy this more. There’s nothing dated about it at all to me, in fact I think it’s remarkable how well it’s aged. The trick in my experience is to buy from a reputable source. I’ve bought a few grey market bottles in the past few years that smelled quite off.

I doubt that you'll have a woman tell you "no" for your scent opinions/comparisons. You are well dressed, handsome, have a very professional approach, and have confidence in your voice. I fell in total love with this fragrance years ago when I was still in high school but only wore it a few times when I went to church with my parents. There were actually girls outside looking at me so, it is definitely not offensive by any means. Le Male from JPG is definitely timeless and a classic. I hope it never gets discontinued.
It changed a few times. There was a 1995-1998 formulation which was very similar to the current one, the 1998-2010 formulation was a lot “dirtier” and less sweet, 2010-2018 was the same as the previous one but weaker, and the 2018- formulation basically smells like the original first batches, but a bit weaker.
I love le male but I like the vintage formulation more. I got two 2008 batches, one 2009 batch, one 2015 batch and one 2023 batch! 2023 batch is my least favorite because the performance is not the best but it still smells great 👍
This was once upon a time my signature scent for so long. But these new formulations literally smell like toothpaste and bad breathe. Smells completely different now. Its gross. Does not at all smell like shaving cream anymore.

i LOVE Lemale. i have a vintage bottle from 1997 and also 2006. its forever a classic.
I also love it, and have 8 bottles, also vintage. For me it's the GOAT.

I own 2002 formulation, and I hate it. Wayyyyy to strong and to sweet, now days formulations more nicer, also less vanilla and more woods
