His blocking is what made him the GOAT. With there being guys that only block on short yardage and guys that are just big receivers, he was able to dominate in blocking and receiving.
@@hopsterbb2571 I think Gronk was a better receiver, too. If you need a first down, Gronk is your guy he’ll drag four guys on his shoulders and absolute unstoppable force. Kelsey is not that guy.
Something that TRAVIS know nothing about that a good tight end does extremely well, BLOCK. Taylor does all the blocking in that short term relationship
He never got enough credit for his blocking, people say he lost a step and I completely agree but his blocking advantage in run and pass is one of the best and most blocking te’s can’t catch like he can even with a lost step
He actually got way better as the season went along though. He was helping a lot to slow down Hendrickson against the saints this time around. In that 38-3 game he just wasn’t used as a blocker I think because they didn’t believe he was ready
Anyone who has followed the Pat's for any length of time knows Gronk could block with the best of them. He got all the adulation and credit he deserved for every thing he could do on the field.
He was a great team player.. he'd do whatever the team needed him to do to win....and a great target in clutch games because Brady would throw it where only gronk could get it. God bless Gronk and his family in this chapter of his life.
Yeah. Good to see there are more fans if the unsung heroes out there. I love the players who are doing the dirty work to let the stars shine. Takes a lot of courage and unselfishness. Thx for the video mate
Gronk is the GOAT TE full stop, no one was as great at receiving and blocking as him. Can you imagine the shame and embarrassment that guy felt when they looked at the game film during positional meeting. Go Hawks
He also played on the line for special teams. Gronk was an elite blocker and manhandle defensive lineman his entire career. Ask JJ Watt who never got close to Brady when the Texans played the Patriots. He all but disappeared, courtesy of Gronk.
This is difference between Gronk and Kelce. Kelce is better at staying healthy and moving the chains. Gronk is much better in the red zone and blocking. Definitely the most complete TE. When he's healthy he's the best to ever do it.
In fairness to the DE, and although Gronk is a strong blocker in his own right, he hit the DE at an angle which threw him off balance and sent him crashing into the scrum. It's simple physics. It's a bit on the blind side and, if you've played contact football, whenever you hit someone at that angle he's going down. The severity and distance of the fall depends of the strength of the blocker. In Gronk's case, he hit the DE hard and he flew far and landed hard. If Gronk had just pushed off the DE would have stumbled and likely have fallen close to the spot of contact. But that's how you play the game. You have to be heads up and opportunistic! Good block on Gronk! 👍🏼🇺🇸
Child, please. That’s still a 330+ pound man that he just straight bulldozed. Physics is only part of it, that’s brute strength. I’m 5’10 220 and no amount of physics is helping me put a professional DE on his ass.
This is further evidence why we can’t blame Cam Newton for this 2020 season. Brady clearly had a better surrounding team - great receivers, runners, and blockers like Gronkowski
What I didn't realize until Gronk joined the Fox Sports Center was how big he really was! Standing next to Howie & Michael but Defense Studs! Gronk is at least 3-4 inches taller? And almost a similar weight? But both players have dropped weight since they don't lace up any longer!
Since the Ford family bought the Lions in 1956 only SEVENTEEN PERCENT of their seasons have had a winning record. In a league designed for parity ! You have to be trying to be that inept! We want and DESERVE a professional football team in Detroit !
Every Sunday I have to look at myself in the mirror and prepare for heartbreak. I have two boys I want to be lions fans but I can’t find myself to put them through that torture.
Exactly Rob is the most powerful man to ever play tight end. even as a rookie he hit Kyle Vanden Bosch so hard that the guy suffered a bulging disc in his neck and had his season ended In Just their 11th game of the year. A few years later he would take. A 6.2. 210 pound Sergio Brown and just bulldoze him off the field and power bomb him into the floor like he was a ragdoll. However when it comes to Travis Kelce and power bombs he’s the one taking them. Just go look at how Travis got absolutely bitched by Derwin James and tell me if you could find anything similar like that happening to Rob. Because I guarantee you the only thing that you’ll find is guys hitting him in the knees, which is illegal by the way. because they’re too afraid to actually go head to head with him.
GOD Are you like 10-11 years old? Let's get something straight, the Lions are professional football team with professional athletes. Put half of them on a better team they'd excel. That was a text book blind side block, Maybe you should change user name to 'shit for brains'
I've been a Patriots fan since before Brady got drafted, his throws are very rarely perfect. His receivers had to make remarkable efforts to try to catch his throws and make him look good.
Hahaha the right tackle seems like he’s in shock
"shit, that was my guy to block, what do I do now?"
Always look left & right when passblocking.
It’s the guard and tackle that just lol at the guy on the ground. They like “what we do now?”

The Best...... No Question.
Pushed him like 3 feet and you can tell he wasn’t even trying
Last of a dying breed. They don't make tight ends like this anymore.
Which is why I disagree with proponents of other TEs, just using receiving yards as the criteria for TE greatness. Gronk is the GOAT.
The old 'free flight' sideways move.
