    One added benefit of air bags I have found is when we have a one night stop over and don’t want to un hook. You can use the airbags for raising or lowering the front of the camper much quicker and quieter than your tongue jack for an early morning departure without creating much noise.

    Very clear demonstration of the air lift installation! Looks like a lot of work, but we are not handy with vehicle repair. We are considering adding these, but would probably have someone else to install them. - Michelle

    Awesome, you did good sir, I had some leftover Air Lift 5000 Ultimate from my Ram 3500 so what I did was I bought the basic Air Lift airbag kit and I used the hardware because the Ram and GMC/ Chevy is a different setup and I use the Ultimate airbag with the new hardware. I also had the stainless steel airline and I ran them to my back bumper, I'm like you I didn't want to go with the remote, but nice setup. I have a 2022 GMC Denali Dually so I didn't really need to go with the 7500XL the pin weight on my North Point is about 3200lbs but I have to get it weigh to make sure.

    Hi Stan, Thank you for the installation video! When not towing a trailer, what pressure do you leave them at? Do they make the truck rough riding when not towing. (Driving empty)

    • @OverTheHillAdventures
      @OverTheHillAdventures  2 месяца назад

      @@campsite21 yes! It’s rough when not towing. I let the air out and only leave 5-7lbs of air as recommended. Then it’s great!

    Great video! I know you did this for the 5th wheel, but do you wish you would have had done it with the travel trailer? We have a TT but it has a heavy tongue weight. Just looking for your opinion. Safe travels.

    • @OverTheHillAdventures
      @OverTheHillAdventures  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Pat, we did not need it for our TT because it was so light for the truck. I would definitely install air bags if you have a heavy travel trailer! You will absolutely love it and feel the difference immediately. Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️

    Hi Stan & Rhonda! I just put mine in last week, it went well. But I wish I would have seen your “Zip Tie Trick” first! We have a 2024 Silverado 2500HD. We’re moving up from a travel trailer to a fifth wheel and picking up the trailer next week. I put in the air bags on to level out the truck when towing. I’m also hoping they help with smoothing out those dips on the interstate bridges! How is yours riding with the fifth wheel and air bags?
    I also added the Wireless One EZ Mount compressor for convenience and because I never got around to buying a portable air compressor! Because wiring is one of my least favorite things to do, that part was a little intimidating but I got through it.
    Fishing the wires into the engine bay and routing them properly wasn’t bad. The red power wire has to be fastened to the positive battery post inside the battery box and the pink ignition wire goes to the fuse box under the hood. Both the battery and fuse box each have plastic snap on covers. I had to make a notch out in each of the covers and the lip of the boxes. Otherwise the wires are in the way of the covers snapping back down. It was delicate working around other wires but it came out nice.
    The compressor has a Bluetooth remote that clips on the sun visor like a garage door remote. You can add and remove air with it at anytime. Plus there is a Bluetooth phone app to do the same thing. I also installed an air line with a Schrader valve in the back bumper area down next to the hitch. This way I can add or remove air with a compressor or pump if there is ever a malfunction with the onboard compressor.

      That is awesome! Sorry I couldn’t get this video out sooner. The air bags made huge difference. Make sure you don’t put too much much air in the air bags. I started putting in 50lbs and it was way too much. We run 30lbs of air and it seems to be just right. Congratulations on your new rig. Very excited for you! Let us know how your first tow goes. Thank you for sharing on the onboard air compressor. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️

      @@OverTheHillAdventures As always, thanks for the feedback and advice. No worries on the video, I'm sure you've been busy with your travels. The new rig is an East to West Tandara 320RL. My wife and I & 2 little dogs are looking forward to having more storage and room in the bedroom.
      I'll let you know how the first tow goes. I'll also be stopping at a CAT scale to check pin weight, etc. All the best!

      @@OverTheHillAdventures Hi Stan & Rhonda. Our first tow went well. Seeing we’ve never had a fifth wheel, I was concerned about the extra weight. I think the air bags definitely helped smooth things out. I started out with 30 pounds of air but felt that 40 pounds gave me the best ride.
      We’re absolutely thrilled with the roominess, storage, high ceilings, larger fridge, etc. of the fifth wheel. At the CAT scale the trailer was right around 11,600 with about 1000 pounds of cargo. The pin weight is right around 2200. I’m under all of the weight capacities so all of that worked out great. Hope you’re doing well.

    Stan love the video. Would love to know more about your 2022 Chevy 2500HD such as cargo capacity, and pin weight capacity.... Reason I asked, my wife and I have an Alliance Delta pull behind, but Alliance stopped making the floor plan you have, and I love that floor plan. Really don't want to buy another truck, I currently have a 2022 GMC 2500 HD Denali 6.6 gas that has a GVWR of 10650, GCWR of 24K, payload of 3300lbs, 16,620 towing capability, and a gooseneck of 2500lbs... Appreciate any insight you might have.
