I hated being shiny when I was younger but now that I'm "wiser" I like to think of it as glowing. Lol! Thanks for the info, Dr Dray! Happy Tuesday!! I hope you have a peaceful evening. 💟
Wish, all these products were easily available in Europe. It's always a struggle, to find something comparable, that's also affordable. You look extra pretty today, btw!
Interesting, the only thing I haven't been able to dupe while living in Europe has been benzoyl peroxide products, and we have less mineral sunscreen options. 🤔
Tretinoin took care of pretty much most of my skin issues. A good cleanser once a day (at night) followed by a good hydrating serum and then a repairing moisturiser and then the tretinoin (Nightly, 3 times a week). Broad-spectrum high SPF/UVA Sunscreen (preferably a European formula) during the day. You're sorted. Sunscreen is pretty much all i use during the day time since sunscreens in general are quite moisturizing so no need for a moisturizer.
Dr Dray, I can’t thank you enough! I’m not a tv person or a movies watcher, but you have helped me get back into my skincare and it’s where I find peace. I’ve tried ending my life and you have saved me, so for that I thank you so very much! I have much love and respect for you ❤️

They both look the same to me - something I want to avoid at all costs. I don't know why people want to do that to themselves - it doesn't look 'youthful,' it looks moist.
for salicylic acid that’s not as strong as the 2% products, i’ve had a lot of luck with the paula’s choice calm 1% BHA lotion. it has other ingredients like licorice root that help with the redness and inflammation too
I would love to see a video of the difference between sweaty skin and oily skin. I can't find anyone addressing this question. Thank you Dr. Dray for all you do!
Wow, I'm here faster than you can say post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I'm really only shiny because of my sunscreen 😆 Happy Tuesday Dr Dray! Been using some SA products you recommended recently and im having success with them. Thanks Queen !

So I'm especially glad for the Peach Slices recommendation :) Always glad to find new brands who do it better for cheaper.

As someone who has extremely oily skin, Seban Pads were awesome for keeping my face from getting oily and shiny during the day for the 30 years that I used them. Unfortunately, the company no longer makes them. UGH! The next best thing I found is after washing with Neutrogena Oil Free Acne wash, I apply a 4% niacinamide hydrator by Neutrogena and then applying a pea sized amount of OC8 after the hydrator absorbs.
Oily skin people, I feel your pain! I use Korres face mask, Clean & Clear Lime shine face scrub then a really mattifying REHAB Matte moisturer and then a really Matte True Match foundation! Stops the face shine for 2-3 hours! And try Neutrogena face wash! Mature oily Afro skin! Tip use Matte make up! Uk 🇬🇧
Thank you for this video. My skin is oily so I'm always looking out for products specifically for oily skin. Recently I tried Sephora Collection Mattifying Booster Powder and it works great for my oily skin. I mix the powder into moisturizer or sunscreen and then apply to my face. I am 57 years old and, up until about 4 years ago when menopause hit, my skin was extremely oily. Like, within an hour of applying makeup, I was already developing a shine. And I lived in a very humid climate so, truly, I would look shiny and even sweaty sometimes. Not a cute look 😔 I tried every product out there, including some of the ones she mentions, but nothing every really helped much. The only exception was blotting papers. I carried them with me (or used single ply toilet paper) for years. Blotting, plus a pressed powder compact just became my daily routine. Now that I’m post menopause, my skin has significantly changed- much drier and prone to dehydration. I have to slather on moisturizer now, even in humid summer months. I wish, now, I had appreciated the oily skin more! I can honestly say I MISS it!
I love Differin gel- however, I tried a generic formulation after the brand and I HATED the feeling of the knock-off. so I strongly suggest giving the OG brand a try before you discount it, if you haven’t.
Thank you so much for this information!!! I have had very oily skin my whole life and it's so frustrating to deal with. And I really hate that embarrassing shine that I get every single day. I will try your suggestions!
I bought 5 of these products after watching the video. The first couple are already a hit! Just moved to Florida from a dry state and historically have very oily skin. Cleanser and leave-in toner are amazing. Starting sunscreen moisturizer tomorrow. Thank you! Bookmarking this video for future reconsumption.
I get tired of hearing dermatologists say, “It won’t dry out your skin”. That is exactly what I am looking for. I have super oily skin. One hour after washing my face with a strong bar soap three times my face is oily again. Clearasil is the only thing that works for me, but I would love to find something stronger and longer lasting.
That Differin / Cetaphil Oil Absorbing Moisturiser SPF 30 stings my eyes like nothing else 💀 In Australia it's called 'Cetaphil Pro Acne Prone Oil Free Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF 25'. If a product doesn't have enough UVA protection it gets its SPF downgraded in Australia, so it's probably UVAPF 8 or 9, equivalent to PA+++.
My skin is and always has been (well, since puberty) extremely oily. I have never seen anyone with skin as oily as mine and at 39 it's still as oily as it's ever been. I've learned to accept it though because I once had serious allergic dermatitis in my face and during that time my skin dried out and was very uncomfortable. So, I know realize having oily skin has its advantages and I apply sunscreen everyday (Skin Aqua gel) and moisturizer both in the morning and the evening. I have to say though, nothing has helped make my skin less oily, not tretinoin (which I've been using regularly for 3 years), nor salicylic acid or any other ingredient that supposedly helps.
I would love if you scrolled through yes style and go over items you would be interested in buying. Or I would love to see more Korean or Japanese skincare in general.
Hi Dr. Dray. When are you going to make a video on the supplement DIM and its benefits for balancing estrogen and eliminating cystic acne, hot flashes, PMS discomfort, etc?
The Paula's Choice founder used to say the best, cheapest thing to do for excess oil is to wipe (unflavoured) milk of magnesia over your skin in the morning, like you would a toner, and don't wash off but just continue to do your makeup etc., like usual. Can also be used as a soothing, oil-absorbing mask.

I do know most people probably won’t apply enough for the spf to be fully effective due to its high pigmentation so will need to probably still use another spf. Ps: hope you see this dr dray would you consider doing a ingredient review on the brand called BE MINIMALIST/MINIMALIST from India? us Indians finally are getting quality products! Would love a review from you
Yesss, Minimalist is incredible! I was so excited when they first launched last year. They've been superheroes for my acne. They just came out with their first sunscreens and I can't wait to try them!
I totally feel you, I used to get so insecure about the oil factory on my face too :/. Using niacinamide and and salicylic acid (from Minimalist) along with a good moisturizer really helped me. Also investing in a non-comedogenic compact or loose powder goes a long way, if you don't mind a little bit of makeup.
I had such an issue with this when I was young. Have you tried blotting papers? Really soaks up the oil. Keep moisturizing too! Even use facial oils. Sounds wrong but helps to balance your oil production.
Thanks for this video, Dr Dray! As someone with acne/rosacea-prone skin that is so oily that people ask me if I'm wearing Vaseline on my face during video calls, I really appreciate this video! Question: do mattefying products make the skin oilier in the long run? I use a mattefying mineral tinted sunscreen and for the first two hours my skin looks great--like an actual normal human being. But by Hour 4 my oily skin has broken through the matte layer and floats on top. I know that many people with shiny skin actually have skin that is so dry it ramps up oil production to compensate, so I wonder if matte products are making my skin oilier? Do you have any thoughts about this?
There are already so many different skincare lines to choose from though, we don't really need every skincare youtuber to make their own line. Their content change once they do, and you may not get the honest help you want. I don't really think it would fit Dr.Dray.
I bought this a few days ago and I was looking if Dr.Dray did a video on this clay mask; and now she did, It's so ironic. Anyway, I'm so glad I bought it! Thank You, Dr. Dray
FINALLY. Usually after lunchtime, I look like a piece of butter that has been dipped in oil. I reflect so much light that scientists have considered using me to fight global warming by increasing Earth's albedo.
I remember my grandma use to always give this wax paper that absorbs oil. I believe clean and clear still makes some like it. The brand I had had a Asian lady on it and powder on the paper.
Dr. Dray, the cetaphil SA product has a pH of 5-6 according to their concierge. Is this acidic enough to work? I remember you mentioning the importance of a lower pH in exfoliating products
Skin care products in general make my skin look shiney… oily. They call it “dewy” or “glowing” but it makes my skin look shiney even if it isn’t. Can’t stand that. Hope some of these work.
Perfect timing! Dr Dray, Are there a the difference between Differin to Neutrogena Retinol? I have been following your Differin regimen for my sun spots. I use Vitamin C booster then Differin Restore night, then a dap of Differin gel on both cheeks for more penetration. Lastly, I use Nuetrogena Rapid Repair just on the forehead where wrinkles are more noticeable. Can those ingredients be combined addition to Missha Red Algea toner? TY!
I am *so* the opposite of shiny. I am extremely dry in the face. I put layer upon layer on my skin and seal off with the Nivea blue tin, which has always worked for me. Started using this age 3 when it was recommended to mom by our family internist (underneath it some sweet almond oil that she got at the pharmacy, doctor's orders) and it has worked so well until age 44, when I discovered hyaluronic acid; that is still the *only* thing I use. No permanent wrinkles yet, well I say permanent because yes I have a moveable face LOL. I am 49 this year. Tretinoin in Belgium still is only used for acne. I don't know whether we are that far along yet that it is massively used for anti-aging. Don't think so, somehow.
Hi Dr Dray. Thank you for the videos! What can I do for dry skin. I use a night cream that's thick but it's not helping. I live in Colorado, always dry here. In the middle of the day, I'll add more sunscreen. Then I end up putting a moisturizer over it. Any suggestions for face peeling due to dry climate? Thank you!

What do you think of Supergel Moisturiser with Salicylic Acid from FaceTheory? And what do you think of that brand in general?
happy Tuesday all enjoy xo
happy Tuesday . Enjoy your day
Dr. Dray, if you ever release a skincare line, hand on my heart I will buy everything!!! 💗
There are already so many different skincare lines to choose from though, we don't really need every skincare youtuber to make their own line. Their content change once they do, and you may not get the honest help you want. I don't really think it would fit Dr.Dray.
@@RuffianRacehorse My comment was to say that if Dr. Dray ever had a skincare line, I would trust the integrity of the products.
I bought this a few days ago and I was looking if Dr.Dray did a video on this clay mask; and now she did, It's so ironic. Anyway, I'm so glad I bought it! Thank You, Dr. Dray
Sidenote: Love your Orange Nailpolish🧡….
Thanks 😊
Nice one Doc! I get that through the day. Specially here in Florida 🥵
FINALLY. Usually after lunchtime, I look like a piece of butter that has been dipped in oil. I reflect so much light that scientists have considered using me to fight global warming by increasing Earth's albedo.
PLEASE
Lol I don’t get it but that’s sounds silly! Lol
opinions on sweat block?????? Just ordered it
My face will be dry after washing it but within an hour it’ll be shiny. At the end of the work day I’ll be hella shiny
I remember my grandma use to always give this wax paper that absorbs oil. I believe clean and clear still makes some like it. The brand I had had a Asian lady on it and powder on the paper.
I like your nails today, the orange color is beautiful and your rings and earring are so pretty 🌺 🌸
Hi Dr Dray! Have a lovely day.
I use adapalene gel for acne treatment. Is it okay to layer the Cetaphil mattifying moisturizer over it?
Dr. Dray, the cetaphil SA product has a pH of 5-6 according to their concierge. Is this acidic enough to work? I remember you mentioning the importance of a lower pH in exfoliating products
Hi Dr. Dray,
Can you please make a video for bald men/women with shiny heads and how to rid the shine? It would be a great help!
Is it okay to use any of these products if I use adapalene differin gel
Any budget friendly versions of the Epionce sunscreen? $40 is just not maintainable for me but I like how it went on and blended well without pilling.
would please talk about the new MADECASSOSIDE MASK from The Inkey List that claims to reset your skin? thanks
Happy Tuesday!!
Happy Tuesday
Lovin’ the glam, Dr. Dray! 🤗🙏🥰👍🎉
HAPPY Tuesday everyone
Happy Tuesday
Greetings Ayse S hope u r well n Happy Tuesday😀👍💜….
I love shiny skin just not throughout the day lol maybe for a night out or at the beach haha makes me look more vibrant
Skin care products in general make my skin look shiney… oily. They call it “dewy” or “glowing” but it makes my skin look shiney even if it isn’t. Can’t stand that. Hope some of these work.
The green looks great on you btw :)
TY!
The differin is adapalene which would be stronger than the neutrogena. Also, most derms don't recommend using retinoids as spot treatments.
I have rosacea, which products would be best for me (besides the rosacare)?
I'm here for the emerald color (my birth stone) and earrings with the lips 👄 so plump yesssssss Dr dray I see you sis!!
Thank you!
Dr Dray’s product recommendations are 👌🏼 thank you for the no-nonsense approach as always! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I have super oily skin. Do our oils break non water resistant sunscreen? Do we have to reapply more often?
