EXPLORING ABANDONED NAZI CAMP IN LOS ANGELES (Murphy Ranch)

- 4K on GoPro Hero 8 | I'd been wanting to track down this old abandoned Nazi camp right in Los Angeles for years and finally made the trek. It's not as easy as it might seem online to find the place as it's significantly changed over the years. You'll be heading to the Pacific Palisades (90272) neighborhood of Los Angeles. You can enter he corner of Capri Drive & Casale Road into your phone and it will navigate you to the street parking area. From there continue along Sullivan Ridge Road through a residential neighborhood with super nice houses. You'll reach the yellow gate marked "Camp Josepho" and know you're heading in the right direction. Once you reach the gorgeous ocean view section on your left and you see the start of the chain link fence you will see an entrance to a staircase shortly after. It's easy to miss, and I actually did miss it, but luckily there is a second staircase that's better marked that is shown in this video with the graffiti poles entering the chain link fence, where the giant water tank is. Walk all the way around and behind the water tank to find another staircase that will descend all the way down to another road (GO LEFT) that will eventually lead you to the graffiti'd Powerhouse. Mostly just follow the graffiti roads / areas and it will eventually lead you there. But if you don't do enough research ahead of time it's easy to get lost. It was cool to learn about this piece of LA history but totally insane to me that they developed this Nazi camp in the middle of this bustling city during such a crazy times with World War II. I learned a lot and got some great exercise in on this exploration! It's in a beautiful area of LA and is a nice little getaway. Happy adventures, everyone!
So interesting Hun! Thx for the educational tour! Love your discoveries and appreciate you sharing with all of us!
Aww so glad you enjoyed it! That means so much :)
It’s crazy to think this was a part of Los Angeles. So much of American history is buried.
Right!? That's exactly what I thought when going through the process of researching and visiting.. I was blown away. Glad you liked the video!
What level of a hike would you put this in? Also, how long did it take for you to complete the whole “hike”?
It’s honestly more of a walk than a hike but the stairs make it quite a workout! We took our time exploring the grounds so we were there around 4 hours but you could certainly do it in a shorter time
This is super cool! Thanks for sharing as always.
Thank you so much for tuning in! Glad you enjoyed this one
Pretty cool and crazy that it’s there! Thanks for sharing that!
I agree! Thank you so much for tuning in.. glad you found it interesting 😊
I wish they didn't board it up** I wish there wasn't so many stairs to get down into the ranch* other then that the ranch looks super cool! I went there today
It's too bad they had to seal the door for the powerhouse and also clean up most if the abandoned buildings there
This is crazy!!! I wonder if anyone will ever repurpose this for something positive.
I know! I was actually thinking the same thing when I was there. Most of the structures have been torn down at this point and the one building you could go in before is now boarded up. I saw City of LA employees there scoping things out when I was there so not sure what their plans are!
Awesome video thanks for sharing. Im going to check this place out sometime before summer and im glad I found a more recent video.
Yay! So happy to hear this and that you’re going to check it out for yourself. Hope you enjoy it’s a cool adventure and a big piece of LA history
You didn’t bump into a security guard telling you to leave?
I didn’t.. but I went like 10 months ago so I’m sure things have changed. Did you run into that issue?
@@EJAdventures No I'm just doing research on it and hear that happens now
@@youtubeuser2188 ahh okay! Well it didn’t happen for me but the main building was all boarded up when it didn’t used to be so I can see how things would be trending in that direction
That's an amazing hidden jewel with history I was not aware of. Thanks for showing that. One more trail to add to my list. Thank you 😊
You’re so welcome! I’m glad to hear you’re going to check it out for yourself!
Wow! Thanks for the tour of a part of the L.A. area that we never knew existed!
You’re welcome! It’s pretty crazy huh?? Glad you enjoyed
It’s the puppy cuteness for me though! Where might everyone find the stairs that you missed?
It’s in the description!
Wanted to make sure to detail it there since it wasn’t as easy to find as I imagined!
