In 1959-1966 I lived in Pasadena near this bridge. I played under the bridge in a park called Arroyo Park. I had an eerie feeling there. As an adult I found out why. The unfortunate truth.
The water slide at 2:27 was where we'd go in 1972 to 1975 to slide down the waterslide bare-bottom, and to have lots of fun! There's actually hardly any water coming down in this video, back when we went the water poured right over the edge and was almost brim to brim. Plenty enough to easily slide down and then pull back up with a rope that used to always be there. The section above that slide was where me and my friend John Merkle(RIP) would catch baby catfish to sell at a pet store on Eagle Rock Boulevard for .25 a piece so we could have pinball money. We'd use a 2' X 3' window screen to scoop them out from the reeds along the edge of the small pond that was up there. They had sharp barbs on their heads that stung when you scooped then into a 5 gallon bucket though... ouch! My sister "Bunny", her boyfriend Gene, Roberta, Cathy and myself would have lots of fun sliding down that slide, and hanging out in the pool on summer days. The pond was deep enough to swim in back then, but had sections where you could stand up if and when you wanted. We'd bring Schlitz or Colt 45 malt liquor along with us, and something to smoke, maybe even a Frisbee, too. Sometimes I miss being a young teenager living life just like Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, Becky, Becky and Becky being right there with us. Different world back then. Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end, we'd sing and dance... forever and a day.
Funny stuff…that trail is one of my regular trail run routes. I once ran there and apparently an hour-ish later some guy did the Wile E. Coyote off the bridge…it’s known as Suicide Bridge which is why they put up those ridiculous fences. It’s very beautiful during the rainy season…the wash fills up and roars very loudly out to the Pacific - you know, to keep the drought ongoing.
That is the Arroyo Seco. The confluence of the LA River and the Arroyo Seco is the original site of habitation in Los Angeles. There was water all year there.
Next time you come to Pasadena, my hometown, go to Echo Mountain. You'll be amazed at what you find there. But it's a pretty steep hike up to it. But well worth it. In my 20s it'd take me 35-45 minutes at a brisk pace to get up there. Now it takes me close to 2 hours.
@@SwedishVideoGuy I did my man and it was an awesome quiet little area! Flew my drone and got some great footage! Thank you again!ruclips.net/video/iylEJdfuEcY/видео.html

We use to spend hours there as kids, going down the moss covered ramp. We called it "pinky run."
Interesting place for sure!

Interesting I am going to check that out!
How do you get to that spot you were at? On that bottom trail you were on?
Easy to park by S. Arroyo Blvd/Westminister Dr.
There is a path down to the Arroyo Seco Trail.
I hope you go there! Great place.
@@SwedishVideoGuy thank you!

how to access there,
Orange Grove Blvd and Arbor Street
Easy walk from the Wrigley Mansion
@@SwedishVideoGuy thank
I rode my bike from the Rose Bowl all through there. Beware the equestrian area down near Glendale, they will yell at you to get off your bike.
Alot of suicides happened on that bridge😊😊
They're actually not rivers but flood basins
