    Thanks very much for this video, I already own the eRally but your comments resonated with me, I ended up buying the Shape V8 to give them a go instead and wow they're just amazing !!! For my level (upper intermediate) they have been great and they're already helping me improve my technique. Yeah I could go fast on the eRally but it was the finesse when slower I was missing, and these were great. Will keep the Rallys but I LOVE the V8's. Thanks so much

    The difference between the Rally 170 and the 177 is HUGE! Choose wisely. Demo if you can.

      @skitalkdotcom  Год назад

      We agree, when considering the eRally and you are between sizes, err to the shorter of the two lengths.

    • @thomaskowolik9161
      @thomaskowolik9161 Год назад

      Is it the same for the shape or is there not so much difference between 170 vs 177?

    • @skitalkdotcom
      @skitalkdotcom  Год назад

      @@thomaskowolik9161 The sizing is scaled, as is the sidecut. Err to the shorter of two sizes if you are looking to get the most frontsideness out of the ski.

      I took with my size of 182cm. the 177cm after testing the 170cm and I am really happy with my choice. Feel more save with the 1m additional radius on higher speeds and it also turns easily.

    How would the V8 work for a heavier (230lb) intermediate on piste only male skier? Would my weight over power it? I prefer to stick with Head's powerrail system so I can use Tyrolia PR 11 Protector bindings.

    • @skitalkdotcom
      @skitalkdotcom  Год назад +1

      At your weight, and if you wanted the V8, err to the 177 and I would suggest that you go with the PR13 over the 11, at your weight you can put some force in the binding.

    How do you compare the v8 with the fischer rc one f18?

    • @skitalkdotcom
      @skitalkdotcom  Год назад

      We don't get the F18 here in the states but being familiar with the rest of the RCOne line I think I can share some insite. At 74 mm underfoot along with narrower tip and tail will make the Fischer a bit more relaxed in the turn shape and the more gradual tip rise will make turn in a bit slower.

      @bertclaes2471 Год назад

      @@skitalkdotcom thanks for the quick response and advice.
      So the Fischer is going to be a bit more comfortable skiing. I'm looking for a groomer ski that's a bit forgiving and wich I can use to improve my carving. I narrowed it down to 4 ski's.
      Fischer rc one f18
      Head e shape v8
      Salomon s max 8 or 10
      Stockli laser sc
      The fisher is gonna be the most comfortable I guess but maybe the v8 is more versatile?

      @@bertclaes2471 Having skied all of the other skis you have, I think what you are asking for, more fogiving and to improve your carving, I really like the V8 for you.

      @@skitalkdotcom thanks, I'm going for the v8 I guess. Would you recommend the new protector binding? I'm 5.9, the 170 is the best length for me or is it possible to go 1 size shorter?

    • @skitalkdotcom
      @skitalkdotcom  Год назад +1

      @@bertclaes2471 Sorry for the delayed response. The Protector is a great choice for the V8. It stands a bit taller than other bindings but the capability to laterally release in both directions make it a game changer if you're worried about your knees. As far as length, 170 would be fine at your height. If you're a light 5'9", like 150-160 or under, then maybe consider sizing down.

    Would you please give me a professional advice? I am an intermediate (near advance) skier, looking for some new skies. Today I have the Salomon XDR 80TI 18/19 169cm. I am curious about the HEAD v8 or e-Rally. Would you give me your opinions about them, compare to XDR TI 80 model ? Would the Head´s be more of the same compared to the XDR ? And if not, what will the biggest different be ?I am 95kg weight and 189cm height. Which would be the best ski length for me? Is 177cm suitable for me?

      Im about same size.. 191 cm and 95kg.. would you recommend a V8 in 177cm lenght? Or Im too heavy and the e-rally would do better job for me.. also go for 170cm or 177cm lenght? Im just intermediate skier.. want to get better in curving skills. Thank you

      You just recommended the same v8 to a beginner as well as an intermediate advanced skier. Would v5 not be better for a beginner? Strange

    • @DL_Evergreen
      @DL_Evergreen 7 месяцев назад

      v8 is probably good for skier from beginner all the way to upper intermediate level. Considering the price and life cycle of a pair of ski, going directly for v8 would probably be a better choice than going for a v5 first and then upgrade to v8. If anyone feel v8 is too much for them, they can just simply grab a rental ski at most resorts, they would have similar feel as v5 @@westqueenwesthomes7717
