Just joined and I have to tell you, you're such a cute couple. I'm a Philly transplant back in 1976 to South Jersey and I met my wife at TCNJ (what we called Trenton State College). She's a born and bred, proud Somerset County girl. We LOVE your videos and contrary to what people think about New Jerseyans being loud and obnoxious, you guys are the class of what makes this state great. Keep having fun and try to stay as healthy as you can so that we can continue to follow you making HAPPY MEMORIES! God bless!!!❤
Wow ! Thank you so much for the kind words, that’s why we do what we do ! Creating memories is what we love 💕 So happy you found our channel and thank for watching! by the way, I was born and raised from the next over Middlesex County .
Yeah it’s a little expensive we took it only one way to come home . It was 1200 for my wife and I and the car was free because of points we gathered on our credit card. It was fun and an experience. Thanks for watching.
I never tried the Auto Train before but one day I will , just to experience it. For most people taking the Auto Train is expensive compared to driving. You spent $2400 for 2 people, .. but I figured out I could drive it .. including gas, hotel room , meals .. all for less than $400... in about the same time. I think driving Lorton VA up the North East 1-95 is very stressful part of the trip.. so too bad the Auto Train didn't go up to NY or Philly etc. I live in VA , so driving to VA to Fl is no problem for me.

We also have the FNBO Amtrak MC and haven't paid out of pocket for a trip in about 10 years and we go every 12-18 months. We put everything on the card except utilities, taxes and insurance. We always get a bedroom (the regular one with bathroom)and the only thing we've paid for in the last couple of years is the priority offload. The card is worth it to us because we don't carry a balance. We pay it off every single month which makes it worth it as the interest rate on the card is high (over 20%).
enjoyed your video. hopefully for you and folks who have to drive further north to get home from Virginia will take one of the lesser traveled, back road highways rather than I 95. it would be a shame to go directly from the casual pace of riding on the train to the fast, paced, crowded 95. ah well.
Thank You! Much Appreciated!!! We have to travel north almost 4 hours from Burlington, NC to get on the train to travel south to Sanford, Florida, not highly practical for the wife and I, your presentation was ‘Down Home Family Honest’
Thanks for sharing this one with us!! Charlotte and I are scheduled to take the Autotrain from Sanford for our next trip in the fall. We got a card and are taking advantage of it. I wish I could send you a picture cause I kept the little box from the last trip too and I use it for my TV Remotes😂 Leo... I really think we might be related LOL
Oh Matt, I am sure we are somehow related with all of our similarities. I hope you and Charlotte have an awesome trip and cannot wait to see your adventure as well. I am so glad you took advantage of the card. We are scheduled for next month and got a bedroom with our car all for only $500.00. My wife got a card as well and we plan on using her miles on our next memory/adventure. I just love that box and have it next to my recliner as well. Marie gets mad but I love it. LOL
19:40 My favorite is the chocolate ones. Even though I have never been on Amtrak with Superliner like the Auto Train, Empire Builder, Southwest Chief, or Either California Zephyr. I normally go on the Amtrak Cardinal Train between Cincinnati, OH, and Philadelphia, PA on a Choach because It was cheaper and Cincinnati, OH is the Closest station from Bowling Green, KY which is 3 hour away
Great video. I watched your other AT videos also. Thanks for sharing. Just a few questions for you LoveBirds….. 1) How well did you sleep in the Family Bedroom? 2) Was the ride better in the family bedroom on the lower level or in the bedroom on the upper level? (I assume your bedroom/bathroom was on the upper level) 3) How many points did you need to use to pay for your car? 4) Have you ever travelled in a roomette? If so, what did you think?
Hello ..Thanks for watching ! 1) the family bedroom in on the bottom and at the end of each car , so that did make it more bumpy and noisy. 2) yes we thought the bedroom with the bathroom on the upper level was a lot smoother ride it swayed a little but it was better sleeping . But more expensive! 3) I don’t recall how many points for the car at that time because it varies . 4) my kids traveled the roomette they loved it but there kids lol ! Roomette is too small for us . Overall we love it and the staff is wonderful and had a great time every time we took the AT
there are three restrooms and one shower room on the bottom level. The shower room provides towels washcloths shampoo conditioner and slippers for good hygiene for all.
@@thetravelinglovebirds9065 thanks for getting back so quickly. I enjoy your videos very much. We have the H/C accessible room booked because I can’t do stairs but it only has 2 seats that convert to a bed and an upper but I think if the family bedroom is available I might switch so I can prop up my leg.
@@gerriespringer7336 yes , I think that’s a great idea, as you seen in my video there is so much room , it’s the whole back of the train, plenty of room to to put your feet up . So happy you enjoy our videos! We enjoy making them!❤️
@@thetravelinglovebirds9065 the accessible room is at the opposite end of the hallway by the restroom and goes across the entire car but because it has a toilet and roll up sink it takes up a lot of space. I’m just worried how small the restroom in the hallway is because I’m on the fluffy side.
Thanks for the review. Good to know this room has several outlets for my journey.
@@kokoroforyou1812 Yes it’s fully equipped. Thanks for watching!

You have to figure the cost of gas, motels, and meals if you drove home plus you can sit back and relax. Worth a lot!
Very true!😊

Just one more question. Is there more than one restroom on the bottom floor or just one and a shower room?
there are three restrooms and one shower room on the bottom level. The shower room provides towels washcloths shampoo conditioner and slippers for good hygiene for all.
Just wondering since the restroom is in the hallway is there a shower/changing room in the hallway like there is in the Coach cars?
Yes ..there is and it’s fairly roomy , sorry for not showing it , thanks for watching.
