Here is the link to the cheaper eraser that I talk about at 3:38 Tenwin - Electric Eraser Pen: www.amazon.com/Electric-Operated-Automatic-Diameter-0-01inch/dp/B07H7FZQ96?th=1
Have you ever tried japanese pencils and erasers? My favorite pencil is the mitsubishi hi uni 10 b its darker and smoother than caran d ache 9b and the nk1 seed kneadable eraser is quite nice and i like that its white so i can tell how much graphite is built up. And the sakura foam w eraser is one of the best ive tried for erasing dark tones.
My sister has such a tool, which is for filing and smoothing nails, and this idea has been in my mind for a long time, and now I will work on converting this electric file into an electronic eraser.
I have the “cheap” one you showed. So far I find it perfect. Fits in my hand and easy to control. Name brand is Curate+Colour. Sold in the US through Hobby Lobby.
I first bought the Derwent one, which was ok. But then i bought the "Cheap One", (mine is branded "Tihoo" but exactly the same) and i love it. It fits in my hand much nicer than the chunky ones, weighs a lot less, and also has option to switch between fat and thin eraser cores. And best of all, it's cheap.
I've been using that "cheap one" for about a year now. I ended up modifying it to stay on without needing to squeeze the button. It made it easier to use for long periods. I too have a love/hate relationship with them.
@@abrahamz3826I'm not sure. I removed it a while ago (when I modified it). It was from hobby lobby. I think there are other commenters mentioning the brand.
You should really try the Sakura crepas foam eraser- it erases so smoothly and almost everything- pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, pastels. I was amazed the way it left the area so white - and erasing colored pencils is pretty difficult with other erasers.
Never tried those electric, but use everything else u mentioned! What interested me the most was that table sander!!! Man I could use that for stomps!!!
I started with the Derwent eraser you also show in the video but found it too big and clunky in my hands and hard to steer in the right direction. Then I bought this same cheap one and have been rather happy with it. I'd love for it to have a "click--switch, on/off" kind of button though which you dont have to continually keep pressed down. And the eraser itself is too soft on these electric erasers, which means they lose their sharp edge or point too quickly.
Hi Jono, thanks for sharing your thoughts on electronic erasers, it's actually really helpful to know you've experienced similar issues, I've got 3 electric erasers, none of them perfect as i find mostly the button press awkward to hold and use for precision. Why do these have to have a button and not a switch which would allow one to hold the instrument in various ways whilst running. If I had the resources I'd consider designing my own but my quest continues in finding my favourite. Out of interest, what brand is your favourite? Is it the Creta Colour one you mentioned? Thanks for all your inspiration 🙏🙏🙏
I use one like the cheapest one. I chose it because I thought it would sit in my hand better than the large bulky one. I actually really like it. I use it mostly to help create waters surface. And it works good enough for me
I use mono erasers and electric erasers for fine details but I'm always a bit more cautious using the electric one since it moves and I'm afraid to erase too much and the noise can be irritating 😅
Electric erasers are pretty good for the most part - I have a Derwent and a thinner Tenwin. In both cases, the power button is too far back on the shaft and I can’t get the fine control I want. Any other alternative with the power more accessible?
I've never used an electric / battery operated eraser. I have however considered it as a potential useful tool to purchase at some point. Good to hear your thoughts on your experience with them. Thanks.
You can find it on multiple websites. The brand is Tenwin - Electric Eraser Pen. Here's the link I found from Amazon: www.amazon.com/Electric-Operated-Automatic-Diameter-0-01inch/dp/B07H7FZQ96?th=1
I would give anything to find an electric eraser that doesn't hold the point in a tightened metal collar! EVERY one I've found does that, and the result is you can only use half or less of the eraser point before you have to discard it, because the spinning metal collar will chew right into your paper once the eraser point is diminished. If anyone knows of an electric eraser that holds the point by tension without a metal clamp, please tell us!
Maybe next you could explain in delve deeper into the actual products you've tested. It's hard to guess how each behaved or what the models are from the video
Hi Jono I have been both a fan and admirer of your channel I was watching your one about trying to find an electric eraser and as someone who thinks out of the box you made me think about a small recharging electro drill and seeing if there may be one on the market that would work I found a few very inexpensive ones on of all places Temu and I am buying one of them this week to try out . If you’re interested in what I find . Drop me a line and I will tell you how it went . Renee 😊
I have a homemade electric eraser. I bought an electric nail filer from the dollar store years ago and never had use for it until recently when I turned it into an electronic eraser. It wobbles more than I'd like, but it works for now until I can afford a legit electric eraser.

Yup, i dont draw as much as i did but i bought that one for fun and it works amazing.

There is a Japanese sand eraser refill for electric erasers called sunDolphin. The eraser is slightly more aggressive and it holds an excellent point.
Can you share the brand of the cheap eraser that performs as well as the expensive one? Thanks!
i have it the brand is tenwin
That's not it

Don't know why I've never thought of this before myself as I have a dental dremel/rotary device for glass carving. Good video dude!
Give it a try! Let me know how it works for you, also be careful, you can damage the paper super easily

Me: Starts watching, gets depressed. I've only got one of those cheap junky electric erasers from AliExpress.
Also me: Woohoo 🙂 thanks JD.

Disappointing vid' !! 🙁
We would have appreciated a test of this machine!!!
I think it was pretty clear that more expensive doesn't mean better and the cheapest, generic eraser is just as good.
