meanwhile peach, yoshi, daisy and birdo have the same stats
The day that the buffs happened, I decided on Peach + teddy buggy, and was relieved to see everyone else picked Rosalina. Now I can't even pick the combo I chose myself without feeling like I'm copying everyone 😭

I think it's funny that there were maybe two days where Rosalina was the best character. Then, we entered the Yoshi apocalypse
I think people just thought "oh now she's better than Waluigi" because it was an easy comparison for heavy weights. But mini turbo > speed, so I think a lot of people probably knew that yoshi was going to be better.

I always like how relax and calm you are unlike other Mario kart RUclipsrs. But i wouldn’t be suprised if it’s still really stress full sometimes
He maintains a chill vibe while still being entertaining. Sometimes, even funny. Some other guys just try too hard.
It is quite stressful sometimes, but the thing with Mario kart is you can't always control your fate each race. I just try to average out to good placements!
I've come across a different problem... To me it seems like the others suck at commentating, it's like they're tryharding too hard and honestly it's not fun to watch at all.
Hydreix is a mk8 youtuber who has very similar vibes as shortcat, more chill tbh

really fell in love with rosalina teddy buggy recently, it’s such a good combo
baby Rosalina/Daisy with Mr. Scooty works to get baby park speedruns
I run the same combo as you but as Ludwig and with the blue rollers to match the blue color scheme of the combo. It looks just so pleasant and Ludwig's animations are really cool!
ludwig's hair has just the right vibe. also i love color coordinating the combos! blue standard tires also look nice

I haven’t cubed in months so having someone who sounds like j perm (assuming it’s not him) in the background while cubing just brings back the nostalgia. Also I think his voice low key boosts me cuz I went from sub 15 to sub 12 during my session

As a Peach main I'm very happy with the new meta, I use the exact combo as you but with Pink Parasol. Always nice to watch your videos and learn new techniques :D
I use this combo except Cat Cruiser and I want to use the Oarasol SO BAD! I just really need the Mini-Turbo and I prioritize drifting over occasionally having very satisfying color coordination. I want to use the oarasol so bad tho.
I apparently cannot type parasol.
My combo lately has been Rosalina, Pipe Frame, Standard Tires, and the Gold Glider. I tried it because it has a simple, charming look and the visible stats are straight down the center. It turned out to be very good and unsurprisingly well balanced.

I actually really like Mirror Mode. Since you have no idea where the heck you are, you’ll be looking around the screen more which gives you a chance to take in the scenery, especially since the race lasts longer than on 200cc

I've played Mario Kart 8 a handful of times and don't even have a Switch, yet I've watched probably all of your videos.
I got DK Summit on 200cc twice in a row once. I knew it was 200cc the first time, but that first jump / left turn strat. after the cannon the second race completely caught me off guard.
@Shortcat, I totally know what you mean by you can’t tell speed. I find that baby Rosalina biddybuggy feels FASTER than bowser badwagon
as a splatoon fan inkstriker being a good vehicle in this game fills me with pride and makes me super happy

You should make a challenge where your combo is randomized each race!
My favorite thing about Mario Kart 8 is that while it’s possible to minmax your setup, it doesn’t really matter in the long run and you can pretty much win with whatever kart you want. That makes the kart creation feature sound a little useless, but I also have to admit that every combination feels slightly different enough to warrant having a “main” setup. So I’d argue that the best combination is the one that feels right to you.
All of this is especially true after the balance update. I try to stay away from using the “meta” stuff like the bear or wiggler because I don’t want to feel like I can only have fun by having a slight edge. The only reason I ever use the Biddybug is because Wario looks like he’s stuck in there if you choose him
I’ve won a lot of games in online mode too without ever discovering this channel or reading about tips online. I personally think one of the best things to help you improve is getting the golden wheels, where you have to beat every dev’s record on each stage. That way you can experiment and learn about shortcuts, and watch ghost data to see what they do and what you can do better.

When I want to try hard I go with this combo! Didn’t know the stats but it felt easy to win with more consistently. I like the weight too, doesn’t get bumped around much

0:07 the yoshi is using azure rollers which have one more accelreation and one less speed than normal rollers, so its actualy different
Hey Jperm ! Just wanted to say that I love your MarioKart content
I like sticking to mid-heavyweight characters and I like to use leaf tires over rollers for the versatility and they lean more towards speed. My go to’s are Luigi, yoshi, kamek, or Wiggler with the inkstriker, sports coupe or Mach 8, with leaf tires and the paper glider.
Rosalina is my main, and I’d love to hear what vehicle combos you think work best for her!! I’m a new subscriber, and my first video I saw was your mount wario short, so I was thrilled (It’s my favorite track) 💖💖💖

I actually stumbled on essentially this combo long before the update. I decided to use daisy and the cat cruiser entirely as a joke before I knew anything about the meta and it became my favorite setup. Then it became meta and now I feel like a try hard lol

I’m glad I found this channle because I was rly tired of everyone using meta, this game is so much better when you just stop caring so much about stats, so many fun combos and your the only person I’ve seen who uses a lot of them
I don’t play for stats. Or online. Anyway, I like the Pipe Frame with standard wheels combo, because it lets me relive the N64 nostalgia. And I used the Super Glider, just because it’s there.

I used yoshi even before he was meta because he is my favorite character in the Mario franchise and his trick sounds are really cute. I can also do a pretty good yoshi impression
I just recently began playing Mariokart Online and I do believe you can trail a bomb even on 100 and 150cc. However, throwing the bomb can be an advantage as it stops other players from catching up or chaining multiple red shells.

It's funny to see this for the first time post- final DLC. More things change, more they stay the same: from now until the end of time, Yoshi Teddy Rollers will be the only combo ever played in 150cc MK8D.
I mean I use dry bones, azure rollers, biddi buggy and cloud glider. Dry bones because he's been my main since Mario kart DS so I don't see why change now and stat wise I only really Care about having great handling and acceleration. I'm here for the vibes 😂. But watching your videos has made me sooooo much better so huge thx for that❤

I personally just play Roy Biddybuggy with roller wheels because it's just my favorite vehicle to use, and roy's my Favorite character in the roster.

I try to mix it up each race (I’m literally going down the whole roster every time I play with my family lol) but I like how Koopa Troopa + Mach 8 + Button + Paper Glider plays
For 150cc Online, I’ve been using Luigi / Standard Tires / Silver Arrow / Standard Glider mainly, but I’ll switch Luigi for Iggy and keep the exact same setup or use Varmint instead of the Silver Arrow kart. It is crazy that like two years ago, people were always using Waluigi - Wiggler online compared to now it’s Yoshi or the plethora of characters you showed early in the video.

Hi could you try Toad, Pipe Frame, Roller wheels and cloud glider? I used to play when the game was like a year old, and I thought it was a great combo (both in stat in aesthetics). It has great acceleration and handling, but since toad is a little bit heavier than the babies, I think you don´t get pushed around that much. I played casually tho, I never looked of combos and meta. Ah an alos, love your channel, keep it up

I think a good yt shorts idea would be about why you always mini turbo when going into a glider.
Nah y’all need to use shy guy,teddy buggy,rollers,and cloud glider and bro it makes snaking look easy,the speed is good and all the other stats and the acceleration and the mini turbo is over the last bar so it almost fills the entire thing

Luigi/Pipe Frame/Slim/Any Glider
Daisy/Sports Bike/Slim/Any Glider
Metal Mario/W 25 Silver Arrow/Standard/Gold Glider
Mii(preferably dark blue)/Mach 8/Blue Standard/MKTV Parafoil
Waluigi/Duke/Azure Rollers/Wario Wing

Peach in the cat cruiser is the same as teddy buggy but arguably more aesthetically pleasing since its pink in pink lol

Hey look it’s the only combo I ever use…unless it’s not a drifting map. I usually choose drifting maps though and I live and DIE by the drift. Also her being my favorite Mario character is just the icing on the cake.

You should totally play a max acceleration combo!
Teddy Buggy also has better handling than Inkstriker, so it's easier to avoid items and make better turn alignments.
