So in wave 5 I really like to use kamek and pipe frame roller wheels and cloud glider❤ btw would love more kamek content

11:57 I like to believe that there's a thing in this game called Red Shell karma, when you throw a Red Shell at someone you almost immediately get hit by something else...usually another Red Shell. Love the vid seeing all these different kart combos is refreshing and really makes wave 5 a lot more enjoyable then I was expecting
Here I am trying to use my only red shell defensively and immediately getting pelted by 7 red shells for even thinking about doing so 😭
These balance changes are making noticeable changes to the amount of different combos online, I've been playing tanooki mario a lot, the cutest character in the game imo

The meta is temporary, but the drip is forever
I love the balance changes. I main Rosalina+teddy buggy+azure roller+cloud glider; because of the invincibility buff, the combo is actually better than before, and gives another reason to choose for example link over daisy. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if wave 6 would make things even more balanced.
Yes! The invincibility stats seemed reversed before, and now they've fixed it.

I love Rosalina, and seeing that she has a good combo after wave 5, looks like I'm going to main her again. I used Daisy all the time before since she has same stats as Yoshi.

That said - a lovely video idea - rate our combos! Similar to your cute stat video, I would be curious whether my combo (that looks good) is actually "good" from a stats perspective. I could do the maths myself of course, but could be fun if we could submit combos for review. Cheers~

I know I’m late but here is my thoughts on the moo moo meadows situation:
I think it’s really good for teaching your younging siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and really any one who can’t get great grips on video games easily. It shows the basic things of Mario kart, with the drifting, items and split paths, as well as obstacles. But I do think for people who are experienced with video games or have really ever played a Mario kart game, yes it is quite boring. I think moo moo meadows should be for younger and much older people, but for anybody else getting into Mario kart, use Mario Stadium, as it shows many of the other good thinks like optimal shortcuts with that one ramp.

Idk about lauren... on coconut mall i threw a red shell as they had a mushroom, then they used the mushroom, blocked the red shell, had another green shell to block the next red shell, then dropped a banana at the item set. Something is fishy

I’ve seen an increase of 80% more squid kids and villagers in online, good to see some new combos rather than just 10 yoshi biddy or yoshi teddy
At the moment I'm rocking the Landship + Dry Bones combo. Honestly it's feels good seeing so many combos being used now
It's so nice to see so many optimal combos instead of just Yoshi Teddybuggy or Waluigi Wiggler
Just recently got into online Mario Kart for the first time in 14 years. Gonna throw these all into a google doc so I can grind some VR while looking good doing it! Glad to see I made a good choice beginning to that Tanooki setup you used in the video when pack 5 came out, too! xD
Edit - Meant to ask a question too; how much does glider choice matter? It never seems to get shown much in videos, and there seemed to be a decent variety in the video from what I could see
Gliders can change a few of your stats by a maximum of 1 usually, so it's not a big deal. I talk about this in my wave 5 update video. But when in doubt, go cloud or paper glider

25:04 about this, I've been using the Sponge tyres a lot lately and they're good indeed, fit in good-looking combos better than, say, Leaf and buttons; the extra off-road and invencibility is nice too. I've been using them with Teddy buggy and Streetle (never used this kart before and thanks to this patch I finally could) and they feel sooo good to drive
I love sponge with both of those! With streetle and sponge you get insane off-road traction. I used that combo with shy guy in my cutest combo video, and has a great time on kalimari desert
I was just playing around with different combinations and dry bowser on the biddybuggy and rollers actually isn’t terrible. Definitely not amazing, but it just seems weird to have a character like dry bowser on the biddybuggy. My favorite combo is still dry bones biddybuggy and rollers for 200cc, and kamek, pipe frame, and rollers for 150cc.
Dry Bowser on biddybuggy was a somewhat popular combo before the wave 4 update! If you've seen jpgiviner's old videos, he used wario on Mr Scooty a lot, and that has the same stats.

Me as a kid trying to unlock Special Cup in Mario Kart on the SNES, and a friend telling me about Rainbow Road:
"Do you know how hard Rainbow Road is? It's insane!"
"Why?"
"So the track is really thin, and there are zero barriers!"
"Woah!"
"And there are Thwomps everywhere!"
"Oh no!"
"AND THE THWOMPS ALL HAVE POWER STARS!"
"WHAAAAT?"
It just seemed to ridiculously over the top, like a shark that shoots lasers.
Another great thing is imo both link combos work well full botw combo meaning botw link for style with the master cycle zero ancient tires and paraglider works well for outside drift and the rest of the link stuff for inside drift (I use other link for style with other zelda bike triforce wheels and hylian kite)
Rosa cat car is so funny to me, that with buttons has been my go to before I’ve even gotten into the competitive scene when I started playing in 2018! The next one was Link blue Falcon blue rollers because I was (and still am) a massive BotW fan as well. Glad to see my favorite combo getting attention (and hopefully we get to see blue Falcon action too because that’s always been my favorite kart individually)
There was a link on blue falcon that I competed against near the end! Also I love the design of the blue falcon

So Petey, Landship, Button Tires is thankfully just as optimal as King Boo om the same combo, so I can use my planty boy and still compete online yay!

I like using koopa troopa the most, do you know any good kart combos for him? i've been using koopa + streetle/mr.scooty + azure roller + cloud glider
Those combos are both great! Koopa has high traction and so does streetle. Combining them means you hardly slip on slippery tracks. Any of the vehicles i recommend in my wave 5 update video are great for koopa troopa

Moomoo Meadows is that way because it was copied from the Wii before gliders, they could have added to it but someone probably would have gotten mad about them changing a "classic track", i would have like to see it get added to but the basic thing should stay the same

The balance changes made a huge difference in online application. Also it’s a crime that Nintendo didn’t give us a full animal crossing build that was optimal sooner
I use Kamek, Pipe frame, Azure rollers and Cloud Glider and I do very well with that
i use the same thing but with normal rollers or gla tires

I love using the full splatoon combo, not only is it optimal but I also love splatoon.
200cc Tokyo blur with link master cycle triforce wheels and hylian kite is very fun because that is an inside drift combo and on that track it feels like the combo works perfectly for it for me at least

That aside, I actually really like Cheep Cheep Beach, it's a simple track sure but I think that's the charm of it, I can see why people don't like it as much though. But as a casual player, I just drive, enjoy, and I don't really trick much anyways. Also I am definitely biased, cause my first Mario Kart game was Mario Kart DS and Cheep Cheep Beach was one of the tracks I played the most of cause I really like the beach & water scenery of it and I used to think there's a secret in the water lol.
And speaking of new content, I wonder if you also do battle mode lol.
I definitely race more for the driving than for the track design, but I see your point. The water and background look great on cheep cheep beach. I played MK DS a lot too and I'll be honest, I don't remember cheep cheep in that game LOL I remember delfino square tho
And i've never really liked battle mode, so probably not :(

Inkling girl/girl villager, varmint, rollers and paper glider is my classic combo that I even used on the original mk 8
I'm happy Animal Crossing is viable for Wave 5. Still keeping Male Villager as my main (as it has always been) but it's great that it's better now!

I hope in the next Mario kart game they can figure out/add some variables on the tracks where one combo will be significantly advantaged on one track, but significantly disadvantaged on another.
Maybe even an item in the box that allows characters to use a power unique to them which might come into play

since mario kart wii and now still in mario kart 8 deluxe still a film believer that the only stat changes with characters should be weight classes characters should purely be for self expression
I did notice my Captain Falcon combo also got a buff after the wave 5 update as well. Especially when I use the standard glider instead of the paper glider on some tracks.
