Went to a Cornell game a few years back. Atmosphere was deader than a high school. Most people in attendance were the players' parents, with some random fans scattered throughout the stands.
Yall should def go visit Stanford a school with a lot of football history that use to be good but not anymore def should go check out their campus it’s beautiful
went to Penn - never went to a game, was mostly attended by old heads and family during homecoming/parents weekend/etc. and my parents never cared about football you should check out the Palestra though - truly the Church of Basketball Used to use the study center in Franklin Field all the time though, they def have some amazing facilities - also if you go back to Franklin field for the Penn Relays... now THAT's an incredible experience
Looks like tens of fans there, seems like a typical IVY game. I remember going to see Princeton play Columbia at Baker field when Columbia snapped their epic losing streak against the Jason Garret lead Tigers, that were a powerhouse at the time. At game time there were more Princeton Fans than Columbia fans in attendance but after halftime with the game close and the anticipation rising the Columbia sidelines swelled and at the end of the game the Columbia faithful went absolutely nuts ripping down the goal posts with one group of fans carrying one of them back down broadway towards the campus at 116th Street. I don’t know if they made it, but I took a piece of the sod and potted it, and hands to for two years.
I mean, yeah. The stadium was built when they were competing at a completely different level. They could be one of the best attended FCS teams, and the stadium would still be over half empty.
i cant remember if it was or 105s or 135s but when i was 12 or 13 i played a football game there probably some invitational im not even sure why we did but i played for some small south jersey town i think we played some team delaware we lost pretty bad which meant i actually got some playing time lol everyone got some kinda rash from the turf this was in the 90s
Penn State did just barely beat Harvard in the oldest Stadium still operating it was built in 1903 Design: The stadium's horseshoe shape was inspired by the stadiums of Athens. It was a pioneer in the use of reinforced concrete in large structures. History: The stadium was a gift from the Harvard class of 1879 to celebrate their 25th anniversary. The first game played at Harvard Stadium was against Dartmouth on November 14, 1903. National Historic Landmark: In 1987, Harvard Stadium was designated a National Historic Landmark. Role in American football: Harvard Stadium is where the forward pass was invented to make the game safer.
That's where Tech's tradition originated I believe. The more you look around, the more you start to realize that the Ivies are the origin of a lot of American college culture. Like 50% of all alma mater songs are derivatives of Cornell's for example.
Having Pitt in your top 5 immediately invalidates this list. Also there’s small things you guys say that shows you’re uninformed. The Tennessee vs Penn locker room for example. The locker room you saw for Tennessee is the gameday only locker room, they have an insane one that is used 95% of the time for after practices throughout the year, pretty much just not for the games bc the facility is different. A ton of big time schools have it this way. There’s the really cool locker room, then there’s like a traditional old school vibe one that’s used for games
TBH, Ivy League schools are not known for football. To be sure, there have been some Ivy Leaguers who made it to the NFL. Fo example, Calvin Hill, who was a RB for the Cowboys, was graduated from Yale. The vast majority of those in the Ivy League go on to careers in medicine, law, the sciences, etc., rather than sports. That's why there were so many books in the Princeton book store!
@ Exactly. I think the Ivy League still has more nattys than anyone. I can tell you, tho’, when I was at Columbia, our football team were huge, but they sucked.

Seeing the helmet stripes make me want a 'Diag' design somewhere on Michigan's uniform. Heck, it can even be a tiny detail you wouldn't see unless you flipped the uniform inside-out.
Ivy League football is great level of play…. Is it Clemson Alabama?? No… but the guys are division 1 athletes.. strong smart skilled…..many could easily play for top 20 programs…. Get a clue
@ I would say Kyle Field, Beaver Stadium, Neyland Stadium, Bryant Denny Stadium and Tiger Stadium are all definitively better. Michigan has a bowl for its stadium that lets all the noise out and the fans aren’t rowdy enough to be considered a top fanbase as it is.
