His short and stocky physique matched perfectly with his peekaboo style.. practically curled up in a ball, bobbing left and right, always moving forward and keeping the pressure on.. avoiding the taller fighters lengthy jabs and catching them one to the body, then one to the jaw.. lights out.
Hard to imitate unless you have similar physique. In almost all cases, it's better to be tall with long reach like current champ Tyson Fury and late great Muhammed Ali.

I remember as a kid, when boxing was still legal in Norway we had a boxer fighting a match in Las Vegas. We had to watch it at my uncles place, he had a satellite dish. Our guy was mediocre he lost, I remember its was still kinda interesting in a way. But after that came the main event, with Mike Tyson...
I looked at Mike and thought, tsss this dude is way too big. Slow af, heavy weight is boring. A boxing match has never again made the same impression on me. This was the Iron Mike up and coming at his prime, he was as fast or faster then a feather weight, with lightning fast reflexes and a technique that was godly. I cant remember who his opponent was but he was totally outclassed. He didn't stand a chance.
Later on the sports news we had a interview with our guy, and they started talking about Mike. He said yeah I know Mike we used to train in the gym together. I was like wow, he knows Mike?
