Walk around the Colorado Belle, which is closed indefinitely. Little sentimental seeing this iconic casino closed in Laughlin, NV. Music: Danny Welton www.youtube.co...
Love the Belle! I was a security guard there in the late 90s and early 2000s....was a awesome time! I later worked in the engineering department, taking care of all the maintenance and then ultimately worked for YESCO, a sign company that serviced all the lighting on the Colorado Belle. I lived in Bullhead City for 20yrs
That casino had so much character. It blended so well into the whole River scenery while the other casinos are just plain looking buildings. Hope someone resurrects it someday.
Sadly, the building is beyond repair. All the rooms have leaks and as a result there is mold everywhere. The riverwalk is being held up by house jacks and is sinking into the river. The only option is to tear it down completely and rebuild something else. We can only hope that the next hotel is as much fun as the Belle was.
Wow this really just brought back a lot of memories. Me and my family would come here every summer. Can’t believe it’s closed this place used to be crawling with people. It really breaks my heart. Memories I will cherish forever
So many memories at this casino. From the time it was built.Got my first kiss on the walkway going towards Edgwater and my Grandma would bring me out to Bullhead since I was little but omg that was the coolest arcade. And a big snack bar. In the year 1989I was moved full time there. I spent so much time already that I knew some locals already. Just not enough time for all the ways this casino in particular touched my life. Mostly good, sometimes I wish I could forget but I grew most of life there.
It is like the death of an old friend. My family spent many great times there. Loved the balcony rooms next to the Edgewater. Was nice back in the day.
Damn I miss that place. Was an invited guest for many years with many good memories Many drunken stumbling nights on that river walk between the Belle and the Edgewater. Was there last week and when I see it it still feels like visiting a friends grave
We stayed here many many times in the 90's when Laughlin was at it's peak. Circus Circus kept it well maintained and the food was the best in town. Started going downhill when Indian casinos opened up in California. Once Circus Circus (Mandalay Bay) sold it and Edgewater, it was doomed.
I remember going to the Belle before the brewery was built. It was a stage for music acts. The Mississippi marching band would jam throughout the casino. Upstairs was the best. It was heaven when the arcade went to nickels. All you can eat chicken amd ribs. Best ham steak and egg breakfast at the Paddlewheel. Oyster shooters and peel and eat shrimp at the Mississippi Lounge. Great memories!
There aren’t many poker rooms in Laughlin, the Belle had one of the better ones, my opinion. We always stayed at Harrahs. The poker room there is adequate but small, only one table, usually 2/5 . Since the pandemic we only go to Vegas. Nice video thank you.
When Golden Entertainment bought up Aquarius, Edgewater, and the Belle, the first thing they did was to close the Belle poker room. Avi poker room closed about the same time. Now there's only Riverside and Harrah's, and they're both on life support. Even before the Belle closed, it was cutting way back. The buffet had already been closed for years. Eventually, they closed all the retail and restaurants on the upper level and even blocked off the escalator. They closed the casino table games during the week and Pints closed their brewing operation. The place was about 75% closed even before the pandemic. And it's not just the Belle. Golden Nugget used to have a great Blackjack tournament every couple of months, and that's been gone for years. Pioneer restored River Rick, and then turned him off to save electricity; then somewhere along the way they closed all their table games and became a slot parlor, and not even very good slots, at that. Harrah's never reopened their buffet after the pandemic, and cut out poker tournaments during the week. It's all six-to-five Blackjack and unplayable video poker, so if you go out of a tournament before your significant other, there's nothing to do. It's sad, because we had some good times in Laughlin. We still go there, but not as often; and if it continues downhill, maybe not for much longer.
If it's (sub)basement water damage plus mold, the Belle is done. It's cheaper to implode or set on fire and rebuild than restore. I had lots of good times at the Belle plus I miss Pints (formerly the Boiler Room) microbrewery, pub and restaurant.
That microbrewery was the only pub in town with a personality (decor). All the others were just extensions of the casino decor but this one you really felt like you were in a different world from the gambling
Yes I heard there was mold in the building, and I heard air conditioners running at the Belle, and I think the purpose of that was to remove humidity out of the air which mold needs to grow and spread.
It was the best arcade in laughlin when I was 9-14 years old. I can almost hear sweet child of mine by guns n roses playing on the juke box. I think they had nickel games too.. must have been a neat place for how vividly and fondly I remember it.
Were you able to see inside the casino at all? I am just curious to know if the machines are still in there. Like you, I was a kid in the 80's always playing in the arcade there. I used to love the gift shop and the Mississippi Lounge for the buckets of peel and eat shrimp.
Edgewater security got me early and made a stink about me filming before I even did any trespassing. They called in my ID number and gave me a warning. They have a lot of cameras. I found some pics after I made this video of the abandoned upstairs. It looked exactly as it did when the place was built.
During the River Run the Belle had most all the vendors in their parking lot. Too bad, some of my best times were at the rally. Hope it comes back someday
Part of me thinks that rumor relates to the concrete block buildings built into the river Bank. The boat itself never seemed to have any structural issues other than the rusted paddle wheel. They are tight lipped about it.
Basement totally flooded out and massive structural problems on the riverside part of the casino. Thats what a Edgewater (sister casino) security guard told me. He said Golden Entertainment would either build a new one or sell the property
It's an enormous property with a biblically sized parking lot. I'd love to really know if the structure of the boat is compromised, like it's endlessly rumored. I don't think so but what do I know.. Ultimately it will be up to whether the structure of the boat is intact. The 80's Circus Circus era hotel wing has always been crap. The boat is really a work of art compared to a lot of other riverboat themed casinos. It's huge.
@@williamwingo4740 it was cool when they had a couple games sitting just outside the arcade so even if they closed you could still play.. Mortal kombat was epic.. And that lil hang out next to it with food was the bomb...
It's done forever talked to a Edgewater security guard they have real bad structural problems the basement is totally flooded. But Golden Entertainment Corp. Is either going to build a new casino or sell off the property
Only 2 visits to Laughlin, stayed here both times. Nothing fancy, but did the job. No plans to return to Laughlin ever again, is there any where to get a decent meal in this town?

I wish someone would buy the Colorado Bell and bring her back to life life. She is a part of US history
It's sad to see the entire town is going down hill 😭 I love the Belle and Laughlin
Don’t think it’s going downhill. Laughlin still has quite the clientele.

SO MANY FOND MEMORIES OF THE COLORADO BELLE AND LAUGHLIN TURNAROUNDS FROM AZ BEFORE CASINOS BECAME LEGAL IN AZ 😎

Sad that across nevada they are shutting down the live tables. Sucks the life out of a casino.
The lights were on last weekend when I was there.

Colorado belle was the best, my wife and I always had good luck there, the food was much better than riverside
You guys don't even know how many hours I spent at that arcade back in the 90's
It was the best arcade in laughlin when I was 9-14 years old. I can almost hear sweet child of mine by guns n roses playing on the juke box. I think they had nickel games too.. must have been a neat place for how vividly and fondly I remember it.
@@mediaxpuppet who remembers gators days.. When they had a gator and a big ass snake right outside the arcade by the restrooms..
I'm at the pioneer. The belle is abandoned. So so sad.
Tell the pioneer to turn their sign on.
I bet The Pioneer is the next to go....seems like it's been on life support for years
Probably, the lights were on to discourage vandals from coming on the property. Might have worked for awhile.
My wife n I stayed n the suite. cap emd towards pioneer n 2019 i miss that casino .. I stayed e many tmies since 90s
Word is Don Laughlin's going to buy it , restore it to 🤞
From your lips to God's ears. Wouldn't they be amazing.

Most of the biker shootings too.....Don't over romanticize this place, it was pretty cheesy, as is all of Laughlin
Opening date November 10, 1980; 42 years ago
i love the bell
I heard the reason theyclosed it.because water damage ,complete in the botto.m.Its a very high risk for people if that casino goes down unexceptional

Tropicana is my fav!
I'm going to miss the colorado Bell that were me and my solmate hade room's there
Marty Byrde bought it
I used to work there. Sad to see it closed down.
They should turn it into apartments for employees that work there.
Sorry folks the BELLE is closed forever.

Mores the pity
Aw man place was a dump what a trippy place
They had let routine maintenance slide for the last few years. The elevators were really in bad shape.
The place was about 70% closed anyway
True that place went down hill for hears
Can you filmed casino closed at your place? Thx
The best arcade in Laughlin!!
Lol. I still have a few things my kids won there
The entire upper level had been vacant for a long time. They even blocked off the long escalator.

Open this casino is good to everyone in this city

Ive stayed there. Was nice. Who has money to throw at machines now.

Steakhouse @ Tropicana is a delicacy
