Many people of other personalities say that the ISTJ does the same thing all the time, is routine, does not like change, etc. What do you think we are not cases of innovation? or to advance? I want you to know that we are one of the most focused personalities of the MBTI, every time we set ourselves a goal, whether it is changing the country, studying another professional career, learning something new, WE USE THE ROUTINE to plan our time to study, learn, and get the maximum productivity out of what we are doing and of course we innovate, we do it under pressure to want to achieve an objective. Does this mean that we like routine? Yeah!! but only if it is to achieve a goal, we are also very ambitious! We have a very good memory, do you really think that we are not going to use it for studies???? Do you really think that by being routine and not constantly innovating we will do badly? we focus on what DOES WORK and thanks to our excellent memory studies are easy for us. Greetings to all the istj who know exactly what I'm talking about...

Like the smells of a particular soap, or a particular touch etc And at times it's like I'm thrown back into the past time and can live the past once again. Good memories or bad. It helps in studies. As all I have to do is read and write things once . And in exams my hand writes own it's own
I'm with ya there. Using routine, knowledge, and memories allows us to make better choices and innovate. I am an INTP (the P sometimes a J - I work hard at being on time) and I have been friends with someone for a few years now who I thought was an INTJ. Last weekend, she told me she is an ISTJ! I was very surprised because most of my friends are intuitives. We get along very well.

I think I've got the gist of it, but I'm gonna do it my own way cause I think it's less work. I'll take this recipe as a guideline to fall back on if my method fails.
My dad was ISTJ, and my unconventional methods would make him crazy. His strict adherence to conventional methods would make me crazy, especially when a task couldn't be completed that way for whatever reason. Then consider that neither of us were particularly agreeable.
I'm an INTJ male and was dating a ISTJ female. A lot of hard differences sprung up at various times in the relationship. For one, she was extremely stubborn and resistant to change, and would outright refuse to even when it was clear I was in emotional pain from her words. The majority of our arguments were about small details of which I would have cared about had she brought them to my attention in a nicer way than she would. She also had a explosive temper. By the time we broke up, so many bad things had been said and done to each other.
I was super happy to hear the bit about ISTJs being bored by change for the sake of change. I've had trouble putting this into words before, because I think it sounds counterintuitive. People usually think we're always completely overwhelmed by change, but that's not the case. Change often seems like a lazy and predictable cop out to me... It is shiny and new and a sign that people would usually rather deflect attention than concentrate on running the systems that are already in place as efficiently as possible.
ISTJs live in an eternal search for patterns. Numbers, logic, routines, laws, rules, floor tiles, etc. are all patterns. What people understand as aversion to change is actually an aversion to broken patterns. Show an ISTJ something outside of a pattern, and you'll see all their creativity (which the stereotype says they don't have) being used to find a way to fit it into a pattern. That's why you'll see an ISTJ trying to adapt an environment to themselves, rather than adapting themselves to an environment.
nope thats an intj , intp or entp thing, otherwise if you can do this then you are one of those whom I mentioned, as I have been with many istj's and they are nothing more than rote learners.
Oh my gosh, what a beautiful explanation! I’m not averse to change as long as it’s to become more efficient, actually necessary, and remains consistent with “how we do things”. I really do love patterns. Visual patterns give me so much pleasure, it makes my eyes happy and gives me a sense of peace. I was rigid when I was younger having less wisdom and experience. Thankfully, working in an environment that changes quickly I’ve learned to let go of a lot of that. Thank you for your insight!

If yes, ISTJ If no, INTJ & they would often feel dissatisfied & an urge to escape the repetitive, routine & mundane aspects of life
Good video! Thanks! As an ISFP the feigned friendlyness of the speaker in this video annoyed me a bit. Sorry to say that, but it was hard to listen to.
Being an INTJ (probably, though I now have still less reason to doubt), I do like putting my opinion out there, though other people (especially emotional kinds of people) are often to hard-headed for argument or debate to be productive. With an INFP friend of mine, it's essentially useless to even try if she isn't already sitting on the fence or somewhat on my side. I don't feel emotionally damaged or scared by conflict, just annoyed knowing that it doesn't do much, most of the time.
I am ISTJ but with some INTJ traits. I do like debates and have a cohesive team that is willing to share ideas. Especially when it comes to a scenario when I have to lead a team
Thank god someone is here who have same thing like me , I often thought of myself as an istj and most of things do align with me like the characteristics etc etc, but also the same goes to my intj side. I happy to have both lol
Yes S types seek out lots of information, but in my experience S types seek a specific kind of information: existing, pre approved or formally acknowledged sources that everyone is already aware of. It’s almost like a deer in headlights if you ask them if they consider googling or YouTubing something, or maybe reaching out to an industry peer to see how they do something.
I still don't know which one I am. I am somewhere between most of those topics. But I like trying new ideas, new activities - does it make me more into INTJ? But I am very reliable; what was said needs to be done, etc. On the 16Personalities website, I am getting ISTJ a few times in a row, but on Truity I got INTJ.
I feel like I would be good in a very structured and logical field like programming, but at the same time I know I couldn't do that for the thirst of creativity and doing something new - so now I am pursuing PhD in physics
From what I gather from this, ISTJ are less flexible, less intelligent, less adaptable, and less interesting than INTJ. Its kind of demoralising as an ISTJ to constantly be compared to N types. I get it already, S types are dumb and uncreative. Jeez man
@@PsychologyRefresh If its not every video Ive seen saying the same thing about ISTJs inability to actually do anything other than follow rules, Id love to have my mind changed. INTJ > ISTJ from what Ive seen. Please, psychology REFRESH me
I saw one video in which they tell you about ISTJs. Do you know about cognitive functions? If not, the concept is that ISTJ are not just four letters, it's like a code which describes your cognitive functions. I won't explin how exactly this code works, you can watch this video to learn about it: ruclips.net/video/kJCa1GUu3P4/видео.html. So ISTJ's cognitive functions will be Si > Te > Fi > Ne. So the first function will be your dominant strength and the last will be your weaknesses. But as thy say in that video, since you are an introvert you tend to use your introverted weakness which is Fi, and you don't like to use your extroverted strenght which is Te. Fi is when your feelings get hurt, but actually for ISTJs that's not always good because it disturbs you from using your Te streng. Te is openess towards goals, towards people's opinion, openess to data. So, instead of worrying about how ISTJ are worse than INTJs, we should think about this: why ISTJ is the most common type? You know how evolution works, the most adapted individual lives and spreads his genes, so that means ISTJs are the most adopted individuals. Flexibility? Yeah, ISTJ DON'T like changes, but if they are already in the new situation, they get everything really really fast. So long story short, don't worry about your type being bad, all types are beautiful and can be geniuses if they use their strenghts and not their weaknesses)
I have no empathy I know that. I admit it to. I think I would have more empathy if the world wasn’t playing the victim. Let face it a lot of people made their situation all on their own . It wasn’t circumstances beyond their control.
Change is fine but don’t add steps to my tasks and tell me it’s easier for me. No the hell it isn’t. It’s easier for the person telling me it easier for me. If change has a lot of room for error then it’s crap. Wanna run a tight ship. Nothing worst than someone coming to you for an answer or status on something and you don’t know what the hell is going on so you gotta lie like you do know. The administration’s we have nowadays lack organizational skills big time. I can tell if someone running the show knows what they are doing almost immediately. Once I see they don’t I lose respect their boss too.

If yes, ISTJ
If no, INTJ & they would often feel dissatisfied & an urge to escape the repetitive, routine & mundane aspects of life
you are intj, trust me
@@el2747 most of the intj traits doesnt suit me
@@yugensolivagante296 do you remember traditional day? or absolute follow the rule? looking at other stupid annoying you?
My MBTI result is INTJ but based on this video I think I'm more on ISTJ...
Good video!
Thanks for sharing!
I feel like I would be good in a very structured and logical field like programming, but at the same time I know I couldn't do that for the thirst of creativity and doing something new - so now I am pursuing PhD in physics
got intj like 3 times but istj is more common so im skeptical
Thank you for bringing up your perspective!
I got mostly Infj now I got Istj I don’t understand why
Geeze after trying to learn this stuff, I am just lost now. Sometimes I get INFJ or INTJ or ISTJ
Thanks for sharing!
i got intj and istj when i ttied the mbti test 2 times lol
The smart ones that are comparing personality as bad or good, superior or inferior grow the fuck up
what is the weird lip smacking noise that happens between transitions or at the end of a sentence
75% ISTJ
25% INTJ
Thanks for sharing!
At first i do the test i got istj, later i do it again about a year it change to intj 😅
I am still confused......
I got both of these personalities in when taking the test so I think I'm neither, the test sucks.
Take our MBTI Test!
@@PsychologyRefresh INTJ
From what I gather from this, ISTJ are less flexible, less intelligent, less adaptable, and less interesting than INTJ. Its kind of demoralising as an ISTJ to constantly be compared to N types. I get it already, S types are dumb and uncreative. Jeez man
Not necessary true.
You clearly did not understand the video because that is not what it said and this coming also from an istj.

So having scored 50istj/50intj what am i 😢
La primera vez que hice un test de estos me salió intj luego de un año me salió ISTJ xd
They're not similar at all. One looks forward the other looks backward.
Well said!
But I do both
Whole video summary 😂
One has a ton of respect for established ways. The other not so much.
Wrong. Bad stereotype. ISTJs absolutely look forward, they just do it in a different, more concrete way.
But what is a person who has both characteristics of both personalities?

I have no empathy I know that. I admit it to. I think I would have more empathy if the world wasn’t playing the victim. Let face it a lot of people made their situation all on their own . It wasn’t circumstances beyond their control.
It says to me Infj Intj and now it says Istj I don’t understand why
Change is fine but don’t add steps to my tasks and tell me it’s easier for me. No the hell it isn’t. It’s easier for the person telling me it easier for me. If change has a lot of room for error then it’s crap. Wanna run a tight ship. Nothing worst than someone coming to you for an answer or status on something and you don’t know what the hell is going on so you gotta lie like you do know. The administration’s we have nowadays lack organizational skills big time. I can tell if someone running the show knows what they are doing almost immediately. Once I see they don’t I lose respect their boss too.
I'm an INTP who has mistyped as both.
Even though we're only one dimension apart (e.g., N vs S), I have to say that the N's differences annoyed the h*ll out of me. A lot like an ENFJ or similar temperaments can. How's the the old saying go?: 95% is still 5% short...
INFP here, married to ISTJ (for too many years). Offspring evolved to be two INTJs, an INTP, and an INFP. Any scoop on how such matches usually pan out, offspring-wise?
Thank you for sharing this! Personality type is forming through a whole life and a lot of factors are involved.
Offsprings evolved? What are they? Pokemon? Lol 😂
@@derekw4901 I could be wrong of course, but I believe the term “offspring” was prior to Pokémon? Lol.

Elon Musk is not an INTJ
the voice is pretty annoying to me 🤣 anyways ... always, when I make a test, I get N but Im really not sure ... Its probably correct 😂
Elon is intp
So INTJ is way better, huh?
Stop using Elon Musk as a good example of a healthy INTJ. He’s a freak

Okay!
Marry me
Still an intj hhh
Great!
Im ISTJ haha
Istj>intj 😎
whenever I take the test I either get 52% intuitive or observant and even here it's the same like who even am I-🥲
but still I think intj describes my personality best
edit- after researching and then taking the test again I'm sure that I'm intj
finally did the truity test, got intj phew my doubts r all clear
