NYC: Falafel and Hummus @Falafel Tanami in Midwood, Brooklyn

"Falafel Tanami operates out of a boxy single-story building. You order at a counter inside, by the wall of dollar bills, and your options are basically falafel or sabich, an Iraqi-Jewish fried-eggplant sandwich. The eggplant is eggplant, but the falafel! The falafel are extraordinary. The thick cushions of pita, baked to order, may be better yet. It's hard not to go wild with the salads and vegetables and garlic, all as fresh as if you were standing in a market in Tel Aviv."
