This guy doesn't know how air-gapped wallets work and that if cold wallet makers go out of business or if you lose your wallet, you can always recover using your seed phrase into any other compatible wallet. Also, holding all of your funds in one place if someone hacks your passwords or Apple device (because that never happens) is a terrible idea and not advisable.

@@iv54 Totally agree with the risks outlined. He does shows a lack of understanding how air gapped cold wallets / BIP-39 works. That said, outside Bitcoin, ICP is the only alt coin worth investing in. From a technical perspective, it blows all alts out of the water. For ICP I would recommend recording the seed phrase, using at least two FIDO2 keys (Yubikeys for example) as secondary and tertiary devices and then keeping the original PC offline or powered off. #notfinancialadvice
Not true what you speaking… if i lost my ledger i can input my phrase on any hot wallet and i have acces to my cryptos… gerry please do not speak what is not true.!

If you lose your ledger you can buy a new one as long as you have your seed phrase
You can recover it on any other hardware wallet or hot wallet if u damage or lost your hardware wallet

I know Ledger wallets are popular for crypto protection, but there are a few reasons why I don't use them. First off, Ledger had a data breach in the past, which makes me worried about their security. Also, their Ledger Recover service involves centralized storage, which feels risky to me because my sensitive data could be vulnerable. On top of that, their user interface can be pretty complicated, especially for beginners. The price is also quite high, which isn’t great if you're on a budget.
Setting up and using a Tangem Wallet is so easy. And since they have the option for a seed phrase, it is a great option.

Already at the point where I'm liking before watching. back in 2022 when btc was at its cycle low, people were saying btc is done for it's going below $15k US it's going to zero. Well it's down 10% from mid March ath 2024 and now everyone is shitting themselves. That doesn't make any logical sense especially for crypto.Its just a shake out phase, chill people go zoom out at old charts. We are at around 1.4 trillion market cap and only growing, just wait and see the price next year in March it will double....I've been engaged in active trading and managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 24Bitcoin....I'm especially grateful to Adriana Jensen , whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape....

@@user-pj5le2he7w there's no "ledger hacker". Ledger device never got hacked, their user data leaked. Most likely he saved his seed phrase online, or typed it in a scam website or to a scammer pretending to be ledger support, or signed a malicious contract. That's literally 99.9% of reasons peoples hard wallets get drained.
If some was bitcoin or coins that can't be moved by signing, someone got your seed

Jerry, I only have my ICP account on one device. I've tried to put it on other devices, but I couldn't get them set up. What can I do? Also, if I do keep my account on one device, as long as i have my recovery phrase, i should be able to login on a different device, correct?
I'm sorry, having offchain storage capability seems pretty important to me, and I do not believe multiple devices and/or a phone is viable answer. Nor is storing my crypto assets on a blockchain... not even icp. Maybe doing a rundown on more than just a few wallets is in order? Pros and cons? Let's do it...
Honestly I can never go back, I had money lost on ledger when that hack happened a while ago, nuns cannot be hacked period, just make a security key, write it down and lock it away or just use another recovery device.

@@fl6stringer it’s not online it’s on the blockchain and technically it can only be accessed using your phone, your Internet Identity is basically a cold storage wallet except you can use the entire ecosystem while still having your crypto totally safe. No worries took me forever to really understand it

you can store BTC or ETH as KCBTC and CKETH and soon CK SOL and CK USDT but probably better to just keep the original BTC and ETC keys if you want to keep those
Like your channel. That said, if the cold wallet supports BIP-39 then there is no vendor dependency. The vendor won’t know the private key on the device. That is why I always say only buy cold wallets that have open source code.

Hardware wallets are just secure signing devices, you can swap a ledger for a trezor for a tangem for an ellipal for an coldcard for an bitbox2 for an etc. ... - since nearly all of them support BIP39. As long as you store your seed securely, you're good. ICP uses passkey - and you use a specific hardware device that you define. If you don't back up your seed and you lose or destroy your only passkey device, you're equally screwed.

This is what he's saying. NNS is the best place for your crypto, especially ICP. All mine are there and I never worry about it. Just make sure you register at least 2 devices. I did (new) phone and (new) laptop. "New" means a recent version that has the advanced internal crypology security chip that can't be hacked.

Just use your phone and right down your recovery key the number doesn’t matter every 30 days it resets anyways then you can use your laptop as a second recovery device or vice versa

Wait what? This is so wrong in so many ways, losing a cold wallet (ledger, trezor) you can easily just get another ledger or trezor even a tangem to recover your crypto.
And the crypto aren’t even stored on these cold wallets they are in the blockchain and you need a recovery phrase or a PIN code

10 years on crypto plus been holding ICP for over a year, so basically a year ago this guy had like $20k in crypto LOL. in 10 years if you actually knew how to make money and not just theory , you should be a few million up by now. The issue is that the vast majority of these people are not holding their crypto for the next 5-10 years like you are with ICP. They plan to hold for profits to a bull run then exit. That being said, there are plenty of projects that will run and some with good tech. So you can't act like ICP is not gonna crash eventually with everything else and you know that. You're an ICP maxi, thats fine, but understand why 99% are here.
