    Does tangem still considered to be a cold wallet given how much online seems to be. I'm new to this all. But, this seems to be similar to a hot wallet. Thx

    • @cyberscrilla
      @cyberscrilla  8 дней назад +1

      A hot wallet stores your private keys on the software on your internet connected device.
      Tangem stores your private key offline on the card in a secure element chip, thus it is a cold wallet.
      All cold wallets have to interact with the internet because they have to communicate with the blockchain.
      The important thing is that the private key is stored offline.

    • @cyberscrilla

      KYC is required anytime you use a centralized exchange. If you setup a Coinbase account, then you went through KYC.
      But to simply swap crypto, and then send it from your Tangem wallet does not require KYC as you are not directly interacting with a centralized exchange.
      The swap is done using decentralized exchanges, and the transfer occurs on the blockchain itself.

    I noticed that some coins can’t be purchased or sold.
    Tangem Wallet Question: Why can’t you swap some coins on the same blockchain and cross-chain swap, but some you can?

    • @cyberscrilla
      @cyberscrilla  19 дней назад

      Couple things.
      The buy, sell, bridge, and swap features in Tangem Wallet are managed by third-party centralized and decentralized exchanges.
      If a coin isn’t supported, it means the exchange providing the service doesn’t support it, even though you can hold it in your Tangem wallet.
      Generally, you should be able to trade most tokens on the same network. For example, most Ethereum ERC-20 tokens should be supported. However, you need to have the chain’s native currency (ETH) in your wallet before the swap button becomes clickable.

    Only thing I don't like is that when I deposit myro onto it it says I need to have some solana on there to cover network fees and if I don't my myro will be wiped from the network... So it's costing me money to hold certain cryptos on there?...

    • @cyberscrilla
      @cyberscrilla  18 дней назад

      This is required by the Solana network. It’s not a Tangem thing.
      Solana has a unique feature called account rent, which means that some accounts need a minimum balance to exist on the network.
      This rent ensures that inactive or unused accounts don’t take up space on the blockchain indefinitely
      It’s simply a minimum balance you must keep rather than an ongoing fee that deducts money from your account.
      Once you close your wallet, the money goes back to you.
