    Looks great! I have something similar but it gets so dirty should I seal the granite or just power wash?

    Never liked brick for step surfaces, the granite looks classy and the job was done great. How much does one of those granite treads cost to buy?

    • @DeanandDerek
      @DeanandDerek  4 года назад

      WaveAction777 We agree with you that the granite is a classy look. These granite treads are 2 inches thick And this trade it runs roughly $12 a linear foot. Thanks for checking out the video appreciate it

    Barney... The music was a mistake… But we put the text in it So the volume could be turned all the way down and you can still get the step-by-step. Thanks for checking it out

    Hey Dean and Derek, we recently had a contractor demolish our front single step. However, they were going to rebuild it to original. Lots of cracks in the mortar and moss growing between some of the bricks. We also had small leak in basement when it rained really hard.
    How much was this job? My contractor start out at one price and kept going up in price. An additional $900 for a $1700 quoted price.

    • @DeanandDerek
      @DeanandDerek  4 года назад +1

      Eric J Simmons it difficult for us to give our opinion of pricing on a job as we do not know all the conditions and specs of the job. Demolition is always tricky as you never know what you’re getting into. Any cracks should be fixed and filled.

    Is putting the treads on last really the best way? I planned on putting treads first and then stone veneer everything after

    • @DeanandDerek
      @DeanandDerek  4 года назад

      If you put the treads on first, you might not get the proper over hang. You never want the riser stone to be flush with the treads. It's not a good look

    • @DeanandDerek
      @DeanandDerek  2 года назад

      Mahesh yes the thin veneer in the video is real stone not cultured cement veneer. Thanks for checking it out.

    Granite would be slippery, how about bluestone?

    Type S not ThinSet? Why?

    • @DeanandDerek
      @DeanandDerek  4 года назад

      If we were doing it today we would’ve used Ardex 32 To set the treads and Ardex 77 to set thin veneer... just drove by this project a few weeks ago and it’s still standing strong with the Type S.
