Ha hi fire just wanna say this unrelated to the video happy marriage between you and vampy I have been waiting to say this for a while after the crowsworn stream because there were to many comments so you might have not noticed it I I did say it but anyway thanks for introducing me to that by the way its a very interesting game anyway see you fire and tell vampy I also say happy marriage.
The game is so fun and refreshing i almost speedran it (just 1 side mission and a few upgrades left to get the platinum). Amazing work from everybody, but man did you guys really didn't have to make me cry like that. I don't have a channel or anything but I'll try to tell as many people as i can about this gem, Puppy really needs all the support right now.
wow just finished playing the demo, definitely picking up the full game. this game is a masterpiece, I love the final attacks on bosses, make you feel so cool
Just got an ad for this game and I immediately downloaded the demo and I'm very excited about it's release, it's so much fun and the story is very nice
Love the points you touched on, as a true vet of metroidvanias, you really know what matters to the player and what makes the game a unique and memorable experience, you sold me 100%! I'm now just thinking about how interesting and very unique the speedrun strats will likely be for the game as well!
When he says that each checkpoint only takes 5 seconds to get back to where you died changes from a nice thing to something horrible when later in the video he mentions how the checkpoints are memorials/graves to fallen friends. Like how many people died to this gang war? No wonder the elder doesn't want her to fight them, and the grandma wants her to kill them all; in both cases they've killed so many people they know butthe elder believes this is cause for fear, while the grandmother wants revenge for all the dead friends
I clicked on this video expecting to close it a minute in as I’ve got stuff to do, but I stayed and watched it all the way through. This game looks so promising with the gameplay and story, and whether I play it myself or watch a playthrough of it I’m excited for its release
Picked up this game's demo because of this video, ended up getting the full game almost immediately after, and it managed to become my favorite game of all time. I probably never would have found it if not for this, so, thank you. If someone is reading this and hasn't decided, yes, you should get the game. You should absolutely get the game.
Glad there firing out some sponsorships to get the word out there, this game seems so good and I agree about your two gripes but considering they both revolve around difficulty I’m sure they will at least improve later into the game, also can’t wait to here more of the soundtrack, absolute s tier atmosphere generator
I saw the developers’ post on Reddit revealing the game’s trailer about a year ago and I found it pretty intriguing, but I kinda forgot about it. Recently I’ve seen it pop up online again and to my surprise it had actually been released, so I bought it and completed it. I’m so so glad I could indirectly see the devs’ progress in a year, from trailer to release, because this game really deserves it. Definitely one of the best metroidvanias I’ve played.
I've played and finish this game during my holiday break, seriously it was a big punch in the guts not mentioning the pretty soundtrack that follow you through the entire playthrough. Laika is my game of the year, this game mean something more than what release in the year 2023, a fresh perpective into metroidvania genre game, but also the setting.
It's crazy that I learned about this game so late, it seems very promising! Riding a motorcycle is such a unique idea for a metroidvania and it opens up a lot of possibilities Definitely want to know more about this 👍
Thank you so much for taking this sponsorship and telling us about the game. It is genuinely taking up a really important part in my life right now, and without you I would have never known about it.
This game looks absolutely incredible. I personally don't really have a whole lot of money to buy games, so I need to be very careful with my choices, but goddamn this is going near the top of the list of things i want to buy.
Laika seems like such a good game. I played the demo the day it came out and it seems like that's about how far you got. You basically get the shotgun after that second boss and learn to use it on breakable walls but after that the rest of them are indestructible. I managed to do an impossible jump with it but it didn't get me very far. I am super excited for the release!
its so nice seeing you grow beyond just hollow knight videos, even when youre well known for them its rly cool that ur branching out to other games, especially ones that havent released yet
Huh. Sponsorships should feel like this more often. Like someone is genuinely happy to be telling their community about something amazing that is actually... Good.
I may get this game I’ve seen it before, the art, story, and gunplay is great but I also heavily value cohesive and dense worlds and traditional movement which can’t work with motorcycles. I also don’t know how Metroidvania like it will be as it doesn’t seem like the level design and enemy encounters are cut out for backtracking
yeah you're right about the last part, definitely not like other metroidvanias out there and closer to a traditional rpg. You only get 2 movement abilities throughout the entire game, being a small omnidirectional dash in the form of a shotgun and a big omnidirectional dash that's a real dash, they're also spaced very far apart and don't unlock many areas. The map is also very... drawn out I guess and not as compact as, say, Hollow Knight, with not much backtracking involved, which is unavoidable sadly due to the movement of your character.
I played this game's demo a couple months back when it first released! One of the best gaming choices I have ever made. (Edit) I'm coming close to beating the full game, and safe to say its one of my favorite games I have ever played. I love the soundtrack, The last tear is my personal favorite song. Anyways, this game is breaking my heart and I am all here for it.
Лайка (or Laika) being a type of dog and the name of the first dog sent into space. Who unfortunately died when leaving the planet, was a cute dog. And I do not even like dogs.
Given that my own extended family is currently in a war zone, this feels like a weird thing to watch. I might try it, though, and see how I feel. Thanks for the rec.
are you going to play the whole game now that it's been released? I bought the game because of this video and I'm starved for more content lol I'd love a letsplay series by you!
I wish I’d seen this before I refunded the game, I’ll have to repurchase. I think I played for threee minutes and didn’t like the feel of the bike, but man you make this look so engaging
it has been confirmed it will be releasing on consoles (inc. ps4 and ps5) some time "soon". According to gamesradar it is coming out sometime during 2023
played demo after your video and it's actually amazing. my only concern is that kinda difficult aiming on controller - maybe I should disable autoaim, I dunno
Thought this was another youtuber as he was playing this yesterday and thought he was making episode 2 haha honestly was wondering if you was going to check it out.
But what makes it a metroidvania? You haven't talked about movement upgrades or path locks. It seems to be story driven, so maybe it'll be somewhat like iconoclasts. But there any metroidvania element was either pretty minor, post game or ng+ exclusive. How will it be here?
The tutorial section is pretty linear, but the game opens up a lot after that. I only went through one full area afterward, and in that area there's two distinct types of spots which need different upgrades to progress past, one which seem to require a speed boost or something to make a long jump, and another which requires you to break down metal walls, maybe needing a rocket or something. The area itself is also pretty nonlinear with lots of different routes to take and collectibles to find. I can't speak to the rest of the game cause I only played a couple hours but it definitely seems more metroidvania than Iconoclasts.
main character is a little edgy at times due to the overuse of "fuck" but the animal designs themselves are okay, they aren't too furry oc like and are interesting, plus they somehow fit into the setting. I've had no problems with the game being "too furry" myself but if that's your view then sure, even though you'll miss out on the excellent gameplay

The moment I saw it I was sure I was going to love the game

@@evanv-qm8dg yeah I actually bought it! It's amazing
The strong anti war messaging juxtaposed with backflipping on a motorcycle whilst mowing down dozens of soldiers is hilarious.

the funny thing is, I just GOT an advertisement for Laika today.
