Very underrated guitarist
One of the nicest guys! I met Elvin and his band and girlfriend many years ago backstage at one his concerts. He gave me my nickname that night! He called me "Johnny Positive" and I've been that ever since! My site and first album is called that now!

Hey, let's cut the crap, Elvin Bishop is a wonderful blues man. That is what he is. He was in the middle of a band that excited white kids to listen to the blues and created a blues following in the 60's. Just listen to what he did on that giant slow blues tune Driftin' and Driftin'. That production is to me the epitome of the modern blues effort. It does not get expressed better in any other manner. Sanborn, Butter, et al. Just listen to it. I have. A few thousand times.
