My favorite treat is to have chocolate with coffee while knitting in my favorite chair. Love the generous picks. Love the heirloom cardigan colors. Much love from California 💜 Helen
hi Helen! I hope it's warmer in California than it is here in Oregon. WOW, it's so icy and cold! I love the idea of chocolate and coffee in your favorite chair. :)
You are too sweet, Nicole. ❤ I BELIEVE in you! You will absolutely sew that sweater together. 😉 Good luck with your quick turn-around revisions. You can do it! 🤩
My mornings start very early so I enjoy my cup of coffee or tea with my knitting as my treat! At night my evening always ends with a sweet treat and a herbal tea with my knitting! I’ve fallen for sock knitting hard! Colorwork, lace, cables or plain vanilla socks are always calling to me! That’s good cuz I’m outta room for storing my sweaters!
I love a good cup of coffee (hot or iced depending on the season) or a cup of hot chocolate in the winter. You just can’t beat it! Ps I just started a comfort cozy with some stash yarn and I am OBSESSED! This pattern is so simple & easy and a perfect laid back shawl pattern, Nicole!
Thanks for the podcast, always enjoy hearing and seeing what you're knitting. My favorite knitting treat is like yours, coffee and chocolate, any time of day, so yummy!!
Tea and short bread cookies are my favorite treat to have while knitting. I've made the Eva cardigan twice. The first was knit in dk yarn, and the second in worsted weight yarn. You can get your projects sewn by someone else...😊
I have knit 9 Yume sweaters (Isabell Kraemer)! 8 of them were gift knits. Basically, every time I wear mine, one of my friends/family members asks me to make them one! I knit all short sleeved versions, and used Berroco Remix Light for all but one. It is a recycled yarn that can be machine washed, so it's great for gift knitting, and I've never had to alternate skeins because it's so consistently dyed. This design is so universally flattering that everyone loves it.
This will be my year for sweaters! I like to drink coffee or tea with a piece of chocolate, too! I had a Lindt advent this year, and I saved up a bunch of them so I could nibble on them while I knit. They're almost gone now. ☺
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. Love your Barbie sweater, it looks amazing and fits you perfectly. My favorite treat while knitting is a payday with a cup of tea.
My favorite knitting treat is dependent on the time of day. In the morning I love sitting down with a cup of coffee and a knitting podcast, at night a glass of wine, a sweet, and an audiobook! Thank you for sharing all your knits! Your projects are always so vibrant ❤
That Heirloom cardigan is coming together beautifully! I am exactly the same when it comes to seaming/sewing buttons on my knits. It takes A LOT to get over that hurdle. There's something so nice and cozy about taking a bit of time to knit in a coffee shop with a good cup of coffee and a pastry.
My favorite knitting accompaniment is an orange spice tea with a little lemonade powder for sweetening - hot in cool months, iced in warmer months. I agree with you about sewing knitting together so try to avoid those patterns.
On the hat and mohair front, I will add mohair to my hats but I knit the brim without mohair to avoid the itchy forehead. As for knitting treats, I like my tea and a cookie(s).
I can’t wait to see that quilt like sweater knit up! I know you can do it, and if you don’t maybe your mom would 😂 My treat depends on the time of day…coffee in the morning or a salty snack (popcorn or Chex mix) if evening knitting! But, who doesn’t like candy!! I haven’t ever used boucle, but you have me intrigued. I can’t wait to see your round up of patterns!! That knitting wish list keeps growing 😂
oh yes, the knitting wish list is getting out of control me haha! popcorn and Chex mix are an amazing treat with knitting too. can't figure the savory treats :)
I have learned the hard way that fuzz in hats bothers my forehead (as does any sort of alpaca). I love the look and feel (to the touch) of mohair or suri in a hat, though, so when I REALLY want that factor, I follow the idea from Purl Soho's Simple Pleasures hat: knit the brim WITHOUT the fuzz (Simple Pleasures hat calls for doubled fingering in the brim, if memory serves), and then the rest of the hat WITH the fuzz. :) My favorite treat to have with knitting is a cup of tea and a piece of dark chocolate (especially if it has hazelnut or coconut in it)!! :)
There is nothing cooler than that hot pink hat! Amazing! Your AYC sweater is looking amazing! My favorite treat Ithink is a handful of peanut M+Ms by me!
I love your podcast. My favourite treat while knitting is coffee and chips That project bag is beautiful your knits are always very nice. Ive only been knitting for four years but ive improved alot
can't forget the popcorn snack!! 😊 update on the snow days: we have been snowed in for a week and today is Mathilda's first day back to school in a week!
My favorite knitting treat is a hot cup a tea and pop corn. I live a few miles from downtown Portland and with this very cold weather lately, I’ve gotten a lot of knitting time in. I enjoyed your book review. My goal this year is to read more so I’m always looking for book recommendations. Thanks for the wonderful podcast.
You totally got this, you can out the sweater together to wear to Rose City Yarn Crawl! My favorite treat to have while I knit is Earl grey hot tea and chocolate, any chocolate (no white….). I would spend hours knitting and eating chocolate 😂
it would be epic to wear at the rose city yarn crawl, but I don't know if I will be able to because I am quite the slow knitter. Also, I just cast on a new hat today lol
In the winter my favorite treat with my knitting is a hot cocoa. In the summer it’s a frosty glass of lemonade. That bag is amazing! The Just Born factory is in my town so every once in awhile we will see the peep mobile or the peanut chew van. I have some bulky weight boucle that I have no idea what to make with, so we’ll see if I can come up with something 😊 Mathilda’s time is amazing for the 25 free🎉. Swim meets are exhausting between cheering and volunteering I usually feel hungover the next morning even though all I’m drinking is water.
Happy New Year, Nicole!! Your Heirloom Cardigan is going to be epic. I would imagine it’s almost like completing a project when a square is done. I’ve knit the Ranunculus 3 times (gave 1 away), the Love Note 4 times (kept 1), the Flax twice (1 for each of my granddaughters) and the Tegna twice. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Another enjoyable episode, thanks! I love coffee, and that’s what I drink when I knit in the morning. In the evening I like wine. As far as mohair in hats, friend of who likes to knit them says she’ll knit the brim without mohair, then add it for the “body” of the hat. Obviously this only works if your hat has a brim! I’m not sure I’d like the difference in texture. Maybe Suri would be a less scratchy alternative? Oh, and one indie dyer who uses boucle that comes to mind is Sweet Skein O’ Mine 😊. I have a boucle in my deep stash that I should pull out for the MAL!
(I love wine at night, too!) that's a great idea to knit the brim without mohair! I will check out sweet skein o' mine for the boucle! thanks! and yes, please pull out the bouclé!
I’m on my 4th Love Note, 3 we’re gifts after I loved my first so much! So excited about your cardigan and I totally understand the hurdle of sewing! But we are here to cheer you on. Maybe host a zoom or a RUclips live while you sew them together?
Hi Nicole! My word for the year is Embrace, too 😀 I’m ready to embrace boucle yarn 😄 I recently cast on to knit a Calliope with some purple boucle for the non-ribbing sections.
Hi, every time I watch your channel I am inspired to knit a love note, it's on my list of projects to knit this year, probably will do without the lace details, just a bit intimidated by the provisional cast on My favorite treat these days is eating sweet tarts while I'm knitting, an old fashioned candy but absolutely love.
I am knitting the Felix Cardigan for the second time. My first one was in October and I liked it so much that I used birthday money to knit a second one. I do like to knit favorite patterns over and over. Congratulations on your book reviews and all the best in getting the revisions done quickly.
Hi Prof Purl! We met at Flock & I’ve enjoyed keeping up with your knitting through the podcast ever since! 🤩 My favorite treats while knitting area hot beverage and a piece of candy (usually York peppermint patties).
Hi there! I remember hanging out with you at Flock! Thanks so much for watching the podcast. I hope you are doing well! (I like a York peppermint patty after it's been in the refrigerator.)
My favourite treat is either a Pepsi max or icecoffee and some pretzels 🥰 Thank you for a lovely episode - found you during vlogmas and I am now binge watching your older episodes Take care 💐
I love all your knits. I’ve never knit myself a pair of socks, maybe this year. I love knitting with mohair or suri , I haven’t tried them in a hat yet. Your love note is looking great. I’m still working on mine. I haven’t made much progress on mine. Your heritage cardigan is looking amazing. I love the colour combinations. That’s an amazing bag. I love having chocolate and coffee as a treat when I’m knitting. I would like to participate in the knit along.
Thank you for such an enjoyable podcast! I have a few cowls with mohair and they are very warm. Favorite treat is coffee and chocolate with my knitting.
I just finished the Fourth Wing. I listened to an audio book. Like you I was so engrossed I was hardly able to stop for other things that needed to be done. I understand why you are reading it twice. Your enthusiasm definitely influenced my reading of this book and the Stephen King, Fairy Tale.
Hi Nicole, I have knitted three Nuuk sweaters and two tolsta tees. Those are the only repeats, lots of sock repeats though. I believe you will seam your heirloom! It is giving you so much joy you will keep going. I don’t set knitting goal is to be brave with colour. I love bright colours and I have skeins but I don’t add it to my colourwork for some odd reason. 😂. I always have tea but I eat whatever is my craving at that time. Could be anything. All the best in 2024.
As long as it is evening chocolate and wine. I guess in the morning would be tea. I need a bag like that for my upcoming trip to Mexico. I don't have a pool knitting bag. I also recently got some boucle yarn from rising tide fiber co. I only bought 2 skeins so not really sure what to make.
Hi had to jump in so I don’t forget. I have made quite a few Oslo hats with Mohair and I haven’t found it itchy I just overheat. As for knitting repeats. I’ve knit quite a few Friday Sweaters think I’m addicted to the stitch, fit and yarn weight. Of course flax light nice sweater for kids. Enjoyed your podcast. Love how you blended your love note.
My favorite treat is a little hot cocoa with whipped cream :) I reknit more accessories like the Briochealicious or Cinnabar but I have also reknit the Ranunculus because my first one was more cropped and my next I made longer.
That's such good news about your book reviewers! My very first garment I knitted when I was probably in my 20s was a chocolate brown boucle cardigan. I have no memory of knitting it (maybe I blocked that part out because it such a nightmare!) but I remember wearing that thing all the time! Still undecided if I want to knit with boucle at the moment, maybe I'll have a look around at patterns. xx
Lovely to catch another podcast from you. I think I have the same knitting hurdle - sewing up 😕. I’m currently knitting a sweater in pieces partly for the challenge but I’m already fretting about it!! My fave knitting treat at present is a hot chocolate (quite often with an added Baileys!!) 😘
My favorite knitting treat is a mug of Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate hot chocolate. It’s a small world - I know one of the owners of Wall of Yarn, he was a friend in college! It has been a while since I have been there (it is a couple hour drive) but have been thinking I want to go this spring or summer.
I believe in you!!! After seeing your color choices with Chelsea Yarns I definitely want to make that sweater. I can’t wait to see what you think about the rest of the Beartown series. I’m reading Anxious People and love it so far. If you are a fan of fantasy I highly recommend the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson.
aww thanks so much! it's going to be wild in the best way. thanks for the recommendations. I am going to continue with the series. It's heavy so I think I need to read a book or two in-between.
I’ve started Fourth Wing and I’m definitely hooked as well! The second book is on my shelf so I can pick it up and read it right when I finish the first book. I finished the Beartown trilogy in 2023 and I do love the trilogy, but IMO they are his darkest books so I had to take breaks and read fluffy light hearted books between Beartown readings.
that's a good way to articulate it: the beartown book was indeed dark and heavy. I can totally see having a break in between. and yay! I'm so glad you love fourth wing too!
Hi! I just found your podcast and you’re so fun to watch! I am also in the PNW! My favorite treat is a mini pack of gummy bears to have with whatever drink I have in hand… coffee, water, wine.😅
I want try knitting a beanie with mohair but super nervous to start. I love coffee drinking with knitting and caramels ❤ glad I stumbled across this podcast
Suri is my preference because mohair does feel itchy to me, mostly around my neck. Weirdly enough, my mohair har doesn’t bother me. There are a couple of mohair blends that don’t bother me because of the higher silk count: Ito’s Sensai and Purl Soho’s Tussock.
I loved a Man Called Ove but did not enjoy Bear Town and DNF’d it on purpose. If you enjoy Backman a lesser known book of his is My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry. I loved it and I thought it was brilliant.
My favorite treat is a nice hot cup of tea when I knit
My favorite treat is to have chocolate with coffee while knitting in my favorite chair. Love the generous picks. Love the heirloom cardigan colors. Much love from California 💜 Helen
hi Helen! I hope it's warmer in California than it is here in Oregon. WOW, it's so icy and cold! I love the idea of chocolate and coffee in your favorite chair. :)
Tea is my favourite treat to have while knitting in my favourite spot all cozy with my half and half wrap. Always enjoy your podcast!
My favorite treat is to get up early and make my Nespresso soy latte with whip cream and then go back to bed and watch a knitting podcast and knit.
what a wonderful morning!
You are too sweet, Nicole. ❤ I BELIEVE in you! You will absolutely sew that sweater together. 😉 Good luck with your quick turn-around revisions. You can do it! 🤩
thanks for the words of encouragement, Yvonne, on both the sewing and the writing.
Sock knitting is special! I'm glad you love it so much. I also love the coffee in the morning and tea at night situation.
What a “sweet” bag! 🥰 my morning knitting always includes coffee, evening usually includes tea, sometimes hot, sometimes iced!
haha, I love the pun!
I love a good cup of coffee (hot or iced depending on the season) or a cup of hot chocolate in the winter. You just can’t beat it!
Ps I just started a comfort cozy with some stash yarn and I am OBSESSED! This pattern is so simple & easy and a perfect laid back shawl pattern, Nicole!
awww thanks so much Jordan!
Thanks for the podcast, always enjoy hearing and seeing what you're knitting. My favorite knitting treat is like yours, coffee and chocolate, any time of day, so yummy!!
right?! chocolate and coffee is one of the best pairings with knitting ever
Tea and short bread cookies are my favorite treat to have while knitting.
I've made the Eva cardigan twice. The first was knit in dk yarn, and the second in worsted weight yarn.

I just searched the Yume sweater and that's a great one! Very classic! WOW, 8 sweater gift knits!! so generous!
Your eyes when you saw that Cozy Classic/Flutter hybrid. It’s going to be so good!
haha right! so now I am officially casting on TWO sweaters on February 1st. Part of me wants to start early lolz
This will be my year for sweaters! I like to drink coffee or tea with a piece of chocolate, too! I had a Lindt advent this year, and I saved up a bunch of them so I could nibble on them while I knit. They're almost gone now. ☺
We also had a Lindt advent! My daughter MJ really had it though. She ate all of it lol
I love a cup of coffee and a cookie as a treat .
that sounds awesome!
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. Love your Barbie sweater, it looks amazing and fits you perfectly. My favorite treat while knitting is a payday with a cup of tea.
Hi Janet! Your treat sounds lovely!
My favorite knitting treat is dependent on the time of day. In the morning I love sitting down with a cup of coffee and a knitting podcast, at night a glass of wine, a sweet, and an audiobook! Thank you for sharing all your knits! Your projects are always so vibrant ❤
oh I love this. I do love a glass at wine at night with knitting, too!
Thank you for your generosity. My favorite treat is dropping chocolate 🍫 in my coffee. It changes the taste.
oh that's fun! I've put hot cocoa in my coffee before, but not chocolate. :)
My favorite treat is also coffee with either cookies or a pastry.
very fun!

yes, coffee shops are the best! I do my best work there! (like work work, not knitting haha)
@@professorpurl knitting breaks are essential for marathon grading or writing sessions 🙂
@@osteoknits 100%! I need to incorporate that more (bring my knitting to the coffee shop!)
My favorite knitting accompaniment is an orange spice tea with a little lemonade powder for sweetening - hot in cool months, iced in warmer months. I agree with you about sewing knitting together so try to avoid those patterns.
oh wow that's a fun combo (lemonade powered in orange spice tea)
Another delightful episode. I enjoy watching your channel. Thanks for sharing your knitting joy! My favorite sweet treats are anything cinnamon!
aww thanks so much!
My favorite treat while knitting is a dark chocolate peppermint truffle and tea
Pammy poo, that sounds LOVELY
On the hat and mohair front, I will add mohair to my hats but I knit the brim without mohair to avoid the itchy forehead. As for knitting treats, I like my tea and a cookie(s).

That's a great idea to do a brim without the fuzz. My hat only itches me when I start overheat.
There is nothing cooler than that hot pink hat! Amazing! Your AYC sweater is looking amazing! My favorite treat Ithink is a handful of peanut M+Ms by me!
oh I love peanut M & Ms! and thanks, I'm super excited about my AYC sweater. it's going to be so good!
While knitting it's a hot drink for me. Tea or coffee ☕️
truly, a hot drink with knitting is so life giving
I love your podcast. My favourite treat while knitting is coffee and chips That project bag is beautiful your knits are always very nice. Ive only been knitting for four years but ive improved alot
can't forget the savory treats! that's amazing you've found knitting and are learning new things!
Fun podcast, all beautiful knits!! Favorite treat, hm chocolate and caramels!! Thanks for sharing 😊
thanks so much! chocolate + caramels are awesome
My favorite knitting treat is dark chocolate and tea (hot in winter, cold unsweetened in summer).
I love the idea of considering favorite treats via season (and time of day too) :)
Happy you're enjoying your snow days. I love Chai tea with biscotti while I knit I the winter. In the summer I drink jasmine boba tea and popcorn.😊
can't forget the popcorn snack!! 😊 update on the snow days: we have been snowed in for a week and today is Mathilda's first day back to school in a week!

I live a hot cup of coffee first thing I the morning. Catch up with a podcast or two and knitting in hand. ❤
that sounds like an amazing morning!
In the winter my favorite treat with my knitting is a hot cocoa. In the summer it’s a frosty glass of lemonade. That bag is amazing! The Just Born factory is in my town so every once in awhile we will see the peep mobile or the peanut chew van.
I have some bulky weight boucle that I have no idea what to make with, so we’ll see if I can come up with something 😊
Mathilda’s time is amazing for the 25 free🎉. Swim meets are exhausting between cheering and volunteering I usually feel hungover the next morning even though all I’m drinking is water.
I just bought bulky weight bouclé AND a pattern to make a quarter zip pullover!
and yes to everything you said about swim meets!
aww thanks! wow that's an amazing line up of sweaters
What a great bag, my favourite snack while knitting is dark peppermint chocolate.
oh that's a good one!
Another enjoyable episode, thanks! I love coffee, and that’s what I drink when I knit in the morning. In the evening I like wine. Gummy Bears are my favorite sweet treat while knitting.
I've knit 5 Maile sweaters. It's a sweet baby cardigan that only takes 1 skein of fingering.
I just looked that up and it's so sweet. What a good idea for one skein of fingering yarn.
I’m on my 4th Love Note, 3 we’re gifts after I loved my first so much! So excited about your cardigan and I totally understand the hurdle of sewing! But we are here to cheer you on. Maybe host a zoom or a RUclips live while you sew them together?
wow! three gift sweaters!! that's impressive :) I love the idea of having a Zoom for "finishing it"!
Hi Nicole! My word for the year is Embrace, too 😀 I’m ready to embrace boucle yarn 😄 I recently cast on to knit a Calliope with some purple boucle for the non-ribbing sections.
That's a beautiful sweater. And, I love that we both have embrace as our word of the year.
Wonderful podcast Nicole 🖤
Thanks so much!
Aw thanks so much! I really need to try skipping the provisional cast on and writing up the mods in my Ravelry for my 8th one. It would be easy to do.
I am knitting the Felix Cardigan for the second time. My first one was in October and I liked it so much that I used birthday money to knit a second one. I do like to knit favorite patterns over and over. Congratulations on your book reviews and all the best in getting the revisions done quickly.
the Felix cardigan is on my wish list
Hi Prof Purl! We met at Flock & I’ve enjoyed keeping up with your knitting through the podcast ever since! 🤩

I love having chocolate and coffee as a treat when I’m knitting. I would like to participate in the knit along.
Thanks for participating in the knit along! :) I think it will be fun!
Thank you for such an enjoyable podcast! I have a few cowls with mohair and they are very warm. Favorite treat is coffee and chocolate with my knitting.
it's hard to beat chocolate and coffering and mohair with your knitting :)
I like drinking coffee when knitting in the morning and drink tea if I’m knitting in the evening. Boucle MAL sounds like fine.
I have my knitting tea right now :) I also love coffee in the morning and tea at night!
I just finished the Fourth Wing. I listened to an audio book. Like you I was so engrossed I was hardly able to stop for other things that needed to be done. I understand why you are reading it twice. Your enthusiasm definitely influenced my reading of this book and the Stephen King, Fairy Tale.

those are both awesome choices to re-knit! they are classic!
Deep Dyed Yarns has a nice boucle base. I used it in the Painted Pebbles Shawl by Forest City Knits.
Thanks, Aquilla! I will look that up!

I've made one Ranunculus and need to make another because it's awesome!
Sweet iced tea 😊
Yum!
I just finished iron throne and loved it. I'm not much of a snacker while knitting but I do enjoy tea!
It is indeed hard to snack and knit haha :)
I usually go for coffee or tea with my knitting. For an extra treat I like a scone or shortbread cookies. If I do go for candy its usually chocolate.
Shortbread cookies with coffee sounds awesome!
That's such good news about your book reviewers! My very first garment I knitted when I was probably in my 20s was a chocolate brown boucle cardigan. so cool! Do you still have your chocolate brown bouclé cardigan?
I love to have a seasonal flavoured coffee with my knitting. Currently I am drinking strawberry chocolate.
sooo strawberry chocolate coffee, that sounds awesome!
Lovely to catch another podcast from you. I think I have the same knitting hurdle - sewing up 😕. I’m currently knitting a sweater in pieces partly for the challenge but I’m already fretting about it!! My fave knitting treat at present is a hot chocolate (quite often with an added Baileys!!) 😘
aww thanks so much! and, I love the idea of spicing up the hot cocoa!
My favorite treat is my warm chiweenie dog. She is 14 this year. We snack on dreamciscle ice cream.
that's fun!

@Sweetskeino’mine dyes boucle, called teddy bear dk. The pattern I have for my boucle is The Bison Sweater.
Hi! I just found your podcast and you’re so fun to watch! I am also in the PNW! My favorite treat is a mini pack of gummy bears to have with whatever drink I have in hand… coffee, water, wine.😅
Hi Jennifer! Welcome! I love the PNW! (also, gummy bears are awesome)
I want try knitting a beanie with mohair but super nervous to start. I love coffee drinking with knitting and caramels ❤ glad I stumbled across this podcast
hi there! thanks for watching!
I have 2 felted purses and one full sweater that I knit almost 20 years ago that I haven't sewn together....
haha, I think I remember you mentioning that on your podcast and I was like girl I can relate!
Calliope Sweater by EspaceTricot is my go to pattern. It fits me better than the Anker. I think you will enjoy the pattern.
I just looked that up and wow it IS indeed gorgeous and something I would love!
I like to knit with a cup of chai tea and some shortbread cookies
oh that sounds awesome!
I haven't tried those mohairs (yet)!
A Homespun House has been dying some Bouclee
oh thanks! I will have to check that out. Emily and I are making a list to share of dyers that have bouclé
I loved a Man Called Ove but did not enjoy Bear Town and DNF’d it on purpose. If you enjoy Backman a lesser known book of his is My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry. I loved it and I thought it was brilliant.
I respect not not finishing Bear Town, it was heavy. I will need to request is book you are suggesting!
