Always lovely catching up with you! LOVE the birds singing in the background!!! The yarn is knitting up beautifully for your daughter's tank top! Two authors of YA Fantasy that are newer to be are Rebecca Ross and Isabel Ibañez who you might be interested in checking out! Happy end of your semester!!! Take care ❤~Stephanie
aww thanks (the birds are a big reason I like sitting out there). Thanks for the author recommendations! I am on a wait list at my library for Rebecca Ross and will look up Isabel Ibañez! Thank you!
Happy summer celebration 🎉 for you! I think if I was designing a tank top for a child, modest fit would be number 1. Next I think comfort/ease of putting on and taking off. Guess that’s the way my practical brain works 🤓. Yarn choices are where the fun begins- I love the yarn choice for your daughter’s tank! This year I’m trying to make good use of my stash yarn. This has resulted in quite a bit of frogging 😉. I do like to knit small gifts for others. I make lots of socks, fingerless gloves and hats. I’ve also knit quite a few shawls for friends. It makes me happy to think that in the future some of these items may live beyond me. I always hope they convey my love for others.
It's so sweet how you wrote about gift knitting. I really appreciate that. I am grateful that Mathilda picked out the color she did for a tank top; I don't think I would have done so otherwise.
A pink ESC is so you, Nicole! I generally hate making stuffies- they are so fiddly and mine generally end up looking like Chuckie. 😮 However, I kept seeing the ESC everywhere and everyone seemed to love them. So I went through my stash, gathered some scrap yarn, pulled up the You Tube workshop and knit Hennifer Lopez over a long weekend- yup, I was obsessed. It was such a well written pattern and fun to knit along with the designer. I stuffed it with left over yarn ends I had saved for years and I LOVE my ESC. I gave it to my daughter who is going through some tough times and my grandchildren pounced on it and now they all want one. Lol! You will love it too, I am sure. I so enjoy Stitches Be Slipping-she is so funny and knits some amazing things-she shares your love of pink-you will have so much fun together. I am totally a gift knitter. I knit my trademark baby hoodie and boots for any baby that is in my life (two generations of babies have worn them-lol), hats, scarves, slippers, mitts and sweaters for family. In the past few years, I have started knitting a few shawls mainly for me and the first sweaters for me since I was 16 (and I am now 73) and I started knitting socks for everyone including me. I love the idea of KALS, but I never finish in time and often I haven’t even cast in before they start- I do knit the things eventually, but I miss the whole community fun part, so I am no help with ideas. 💕🤗
I love that you have a trademark baby gift!! that's a fun idea to have a go-to for generations. I'm the same way about kals. I love participating but I don't always start or finish on time!
Yay! We are so glad th at you got your chicken kit and can't wait to see it. I sent you the pattern, sorry I forgot to include it. Thanks for sharing our podcast info and our flock of chickens. Can't wait to see you at some events this year!
Best way to wake up on my little holiday in San Diego - watching my bestie in my hotel room looking out at the ocean ❤ CAN’T WAIT FOR FLOCK!!!! ❤️❤️ Girl yes I have PLANS to knit an emotional support chicken as soon as I get my new knitting room set up, pretty sure she’s going to be neon pink 💕 Congrats on your last heirloom square!! You can do ths! Also that yarnaceous yarn is incredible 😍 Have you read Lessons in Chemistry? It is the best book I’ve read in a long long time, I loved it.
Ok, I need to read Lessons in Chemistry. My husband read it and I need to read it, so I have a nice copy of the book! and OF COURSE you are going to make a hot pink emotional support chicken lol 💕
I bought the pattern a few months ago and will be knitting one once I get done with my Woolgathering shawl. I need to make more socks and another shawl, but the ESC will be my fun in between knit
Sitting out here on the deck and watching your latest video always makes me happy! I'm excited for your new shawl design (putting my hand up to test knit when the time comes). I'm recommending The Tea Ladies by Amanda Hampson. I listened to the audiobook which was really good, just a cozy mystery type book. Did I tell you I finished the Legends and Lattes series, loved it! xx
I'm sure there is a bird nearby you :) Thanks for watching and I'm taking note of your book recommendation! Also, I need/want to finish that series, too. :)
I'm tempted to make a chicken but not ready to just yet. I don't typically enjoy making stuffed animals. Would love to do another tank top along this summer!!
A book I really enjoyed recently was Homecoming by Kate Morton. There’s a suspicious death that the story revolves around. The writing is excellent and kept me engaged to the end.
I really enjoy your podcasts and am so excited to hopefully say a quick “Hi” to you at flock. I want to try and cast on a Tolsta Tee- for a make a long.
Okay okay okay, I read Bride last week and I agree! The spice was /weird/ and uh...not what I expected. 😅 Good news: I jumped into Hazelwood's "Love, Theoretically" and its waayyyy better!
Finish Knitting Stories podcast has an emotional support chicken called Cluck Norris. It always makes me laugh when it is staring out at us the viewers. :)

super fun! Love the plans. :)
I am on my 3rd chicken and have lots more to make. Once you show your friends and family, everyone wants one.
that's hilarious. I better hide my chickens haha
Love your channel! I really enjoyed The Once and Future Witches (Alix E. Harrow) - really good in audio. Lots to think about.
thanks for the suggestion! I love a good audiobook.
