My wife and I bought this van a little less than a year ago. In that short time it has featured in three of Petr’s videos. I have to say I’m a little surprised and disappointed with the frequency of the visits to the shop. However, since Petr and I are both antisocial individuals, the van has given me several (expensive) excuses to see my friend. Thank you Petr, and the collective of mechanics, for diagnosing and fixing our Toyota Czech House Music Generator.
My Prius and galpal's Corolla lose the ability to have "random play" feature on USB sticks. You can wait it out and it will magically come back or you can unhook the battery for half hour and then re-set everything. I think the high point of Toyota was the 02 to 09 Corolla.
@@DuoDogsor low point of the Corollas. That gen perchance does it have a 1 in the beginning of the vin? Because those were made in the Fremont Nummi plant. And if you know anything about San Francisco, you know the quality of worker they're likely to get. The plant now builds teslas and they are known for assemble by numbers type of junk. Everything vibrates on the body. The car is junk, only the drivetrain is the standout
Pete, you should get some insulated gloves for yourself this Christmas. Or before. The leather ones will keep ypur hands warm. Or similar. For when you are not working fine detail or messy jobs. When you are cold and dont have a heater for there I know you cannmale hot water for the soup and coffee but have you thought about a water bladder? They sell them in the pharmacy section at Walmart or online. It is made of rubber and you fill it and it will keep you warm if you put it inside your jackets. I heard about heated vests but a friend told menit only lasts a short time. But it could be an option to help in the morning when its the coldest
Wife's 2015 Corolla lost the front and rear left channel. I removed the radio and dug into it. I didn't find anything exploded inside but the radio uses two large power amplifier ICs. I resoldered the pins on both ICs because the unleaded solder is a bit more brittle than the old leaded solder. Reinstalled the radio and all four speakers worked again. About eight months later, the left side failed again. I'll probably look for a drop-in replacement unit. Since the radio is microprocessor controlled, disconnecting the radio may reset the processor and fix the issue.
In the old days Mr. Toyota could watch cars coming off his assembly lines and say to himself “with normal use and regular maintenance those cars will go 300,00 miles”, Mr. Honda could say the same thing except 250,000 miles, Mr. Subaru could say 100,000 miles before they need head gaskets, and every 25,000 miles thereafter. Now however, with all the buttons and wires you have to unhook the battery every two months so the system can re-set itself and make the radio, the USB, and the blue-tooth work again. Or you can take it to the dealer and have them replace the center of the dash for a thou or two and get the same problems. Not reliable.
I have never heard a radio do that. Some diode, transistor, capacitor, or whatever failed up there. At least the earthquake didn't level the area. And like Ivan at Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics says, 'no parts required'.
Don't buy the most recent generation of cars. The most popular car now is the Rav and the last gen stopped at 2018. The previous gen was 2013-2018. Buy one of those.
Peter, I didn't know you could get down!! This is your video of the year! Great analyse and fix.
I loved your dancing moves!!🤣🤣

I wonder what Scotty the "Toyota fan boy" would have to say about that?

Petr, With the 'music' we have today, I wish my radio would malfunction more often. 😉
I was laughing so hard with the radio and Peter grooving
😂 😂 😂
You are too funny Petr! Great video and thanks for the laughs today.

You got me there. Pretty funny intro with you listening to the radio.
You have moves much better than Mick Jagger.
U are truly a toyota MacGyver 😅. Great intertaining video my friend
Nice work!
Nice cabbage-patch dance Peter!

Unfortunately with all the new technology and electronics, cars are more complex and more expensive to build
FYI, that is Kraftwerk's latest track.

I wish I didn't live on the east coast, really don't know any great mechanics, close to this area. Always have to go to the stealer - ship.😢
You just have to keep looking and keep trying. Aim for the better ones on Yelp and Google maps reviews
Just rip it out and install an apple car play unit. Nobody listens to the radio anymore
Toyota cars don’t rate well this year. Need a newer used car, but not really feeling safe about buying a Toyota!
Buy a Honda.
@ Richard thanks for recommendation. Had a hatchback accord in ‘85 which constantly needed brakes .

Wait Josie did you say THIS year?? Do you get new cars every few years?? Then if you only need it for two or three it doesn't matter so much.
