There is a mighty mystery that happens when Light shines into the human heart about the reason we love God: 1 John 4:19 "We love Him because He first loved us." Only by His grace can we even love Him.
Trying to count the times would be so futile...the times when I have said to God, "Father, I am a spiritual toddler...I love you the way a two-year old loves..." And then...generally speaking...that little child begins to want affirmation, praise, etc...so they begin doing things to show mommie or daddy, to receive approval. Pride is in all 2-year olds weaved through and through in "Me" "My" "Mine".
I came to realize how shallow my love toward God really was because of my constant focus on whether I am doing what He wants me to do. Works became my focus. The law expressed in "shoulds" nearly killed me. I could never get "it" right. His love for me was on the other side of a thick fog since my focus was so much on my own doing. I now finally realize that He loves me just exactly as I am. He wanted me to just rest in His love (since He is Love), and actually do what 2 Cor. 3:18 "...beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." And by faith in that Love, I am led to walk in the works Christ will do in me and **through** me.
A real miracle of love swelled up in me when I realized God's Love for me was in Christ, since only by the Blood can I have any connection with Father Abba. Grace and truth causes me to let Christ flow through me in the works because of His love,
    Hallelujah

Yes, you are right. The grace of God is freely given as a gift. Because the Love from God is unconditional. The salvation by grace is not obtained by our works, but through our faith in Christ. In fact it is the greatest Love, shown by God. I quote the words of Jesus: "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." Read Romans 5: 8 "But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Amen. Other references from the Bible: Ephesians 2: 8 - 9 and John 15: 17

Yes, effortless favour/grace. It is all God's idea.
In this new covenant, it was ratified between God and God. Under the law, it was between us and God, but because we are mortal, we fail to meet the standard.
This is the new covenant, we died to the law and have been made alive in Christ.
We were in first Adam, but now we are in second Adam, the infallible God man.
The new covenant between God the Son and God the Father. We are not even in the equation!

Andrew. Thanks so much. Jesus Christ is God's son. The dead are awaiting, but not presently participating in eternal life. Awesome presentation of grace... what our savior did for us. One sacrifice did it all.

There's not enough space and time for me to input my thanksgiving and praise towards my recent understanding of what Grace really means. I have been saved for over 30 years and the last 25 of them was pretty abysmal. It's so true that once a person truly becomes "born again" it's like a total spiritual rush that you hope never goes away, until (yes i know you heard this before) you go to church! Don't get me wrong, I loved my church and had great fellowship with them. But as time went on I was realizing that doctrine was replacing my love for Jesus, and I became, over time, a present day pharisee. Whether the doctrine was right or wrong, is irrelevant. I was beginning to lose total focus on Jesus. I was becoming estranged with my wife kids and many of the people around me. I was becoming so Sin Conscious that it finally broke through MY resistance (note I said "MY") until I finally broke down Morally, and spiritually. At that moment, I felt I blew it and Satan being who he is, says: "Well you went this far you might as well go all the way"! Im sure many of you know what i mean. Well this went on for sometime. there were moments I felt God's touch and I would get religious again (if u will!). But again, I was resorting to me and not the Grace of God. Well! one day while listening to a fire brimstone preacher on you tube, (since I always liked that type of preaching), This preacher was expounding on this particular sermon/teaching and then said the following: "It doesn't mean you'll lose your salvation, you'll just get there quicker before your time"! When I heard that my (Spiritual ears) perked up and I said: "No he didn't say that"! But I kept listening and the light bulb was getting brighter and brighter over the course of listening to him. My curiosity was getting the best of me because for those many saved years, I rejected the notion of Eternal security being from a "Law based" mindset taught by my church leaders. I began to really research the topic being taught by many of these grace teachers, but one in particular, got me for good! He expounded on 1st John 3:9 which talked about my Born Again spirit being sealed and untouchable by sin. And that sealed the deal (no pun intended). So I took off like race horse and have not looked back since. Don't get me wrong, I still have my moments But it sure is better to deal with those moments under grace than under the law!~ To God be the glory!

Amen Ralph , your story is very similar to mine. What a weight is lifted when we look to what Jesus has done and not our own efforts to be right with God.

Thanks Bro JohnW, I only wish i could get back much of those 30 years, I Know! I can"t dwell on the past, and Im doing much better with that. Nevertheless, thanks for your support.

Ralph Sanchico It was only reletively recent for me when all this became clear concerning Gods Grace etc. so I can relate with you on the wishing I knew this back 30 yrs. ago . The way I related to others would certainly have been different but like you said we cant dwell on the past , Hey , better late than never.

I still have alot of questions but none that would shake the foundation of grace. I have noticed, however, there are difference even amongst grace preachers and teachers. (Like there will always be some disagreements amongst the people of God) But I cannot understand how something as plain as this could be overlooked by many of us!

So I am discouraged to read all the grace bashers here. Do you realize that even if a Man of God is preaching something incorrect, (it happens) he is still part of The Bride of Christ. And if you take sides against him you will find yourself looking at that man, with The Most High God standing in front of him, protecting him from harm. Even if is YOU! I know I don't want to be found standing on the outside looking in. As Jesus said, "let him who is without sin throw the first stone". The spirit gives life, but the law kills.

How do you reconcile being saved by grace with the Book of Revelation where we can lose our soul by accepting the mark of he beast? Unrelated to this, what steps must one take to become a Christian? Thanks.

    • @PrincessoftheKing777
      @PrincessoftheKing777 10 лет назад +4

Hi fastkars52 :) In regards to the losing of salvation by taking the mark of the beast: It depends on when you think the church (believers) will be raptured. You see, in the Great Tribulation (called Daniel's 70th week and The Time of Jacob's (Israel's) Trouble in the bible), some people who are left behind after the (pre-tribulation) rapture, will be saved (these people are commonly called the Tribulation Saints), but these saints aren't eternally secure (saved by grace alone) They have to have faith in Jesus and not take the mark of the beast. If a saint during the Time of Jacob's Trouble ends up taking the mark of the beast, they are damned after making that decision. We are in what is commonly called the Church Age or the Age of Grace as of right now before the Time of Jacob's Trouble begins so all people who become Christians before the rapture are eternally secure, but after the rapture, as explained above, it's a different story.
On how to be saved: First, one must realize they are a sinner that cannot save themselves, then pray to Jesus and ask Him to save you, believe that He died on a cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. It's Jesus + nothing. You can do nothing to justify yourself. I believe it's in Isaiah where it says the works we do to try and justify ourselves are like filthy rags to Him. We are doing those works not because we care about other people but because we are trying to save our own hides by doing said works. Nothing we do would ever be could be good enough to justify us before God because God demands perfection. That is the standard. That is why God made a way through Jesus. If Jesus had not of done what He did, we would all be damned for sure, no hope. BUT! Jesus did come and do that for us so we have a way out! As John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life." Romans 10:9-13 says: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
I hope I helped! I love eschatology (study of the end times) so this is why I know this stuff! Also, the Lord makes it crystal clear in the bible how to be saved. It's interesting because a lot of stuff in the bible is hard to understand but the Lord makes salvation clear on purpose so the most unlearned person can understand! He wants as many people saved as possible. 2 Peter 3:9 says: "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering (patient) to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
Again, I hope this made sense! Have a good day :)

Great point! Thats why it's vital that a person accepts the finish work of Christ NOW. "Behold now is the accepted time"! When you really think about it, tribulation salvation, if you will, is going to be by works,.I don't mean by doctrinal rules or regulations, because those in that period are going to be concentrating more on avoiding the Anti Christ and his henchmen. But those works will be centered around not accepting THAT mark! It will be more about survival. I'm not saying that the Holy Spirit won't be in action, I certainly hope he will because they will need him at every moment especially when it's time to pay the ultimate price for your faith. But Grace will NOT be afforded those at during that time. And I do not say that with any sense of gloating or mean spirtness. All you have to do is come, believe and trust in his finished work!

You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that -and shudder.
You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless ?
Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.
And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend.
You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
    James 2:13-24

u2bModerator and faith plus 'works' lover: Doing the right thing for the wrong reason is the ultimate treason. So many folks, like you, read James and get busy working, copying and pasting James on YT videos, and are forever on here telling others there's 'more to it' than just trusting Jesus, etc. And heck, for all I know, you're feeding the poor, street-preaching, and spend your other hours in hot-lava fervent prayer. So congrats, you're swell. BUT… if you don't trust in the finished and COMPLETE work of Jesus Christ… your work is what everyone's work is -- and has always been -- FILTHY RAGS, and oh yeah, it's also TREASONOUS… as in FORNICATION, spiritually speaking.
      Have a nice day!

If you are born again you will manifest that to some degree, but that doesn't change the fact that faith in Christ and ONLY faith in Christ and his finished work can save you. You're righteousness is a filthy rag... Holiness is a fruit not a root of salvation.
