The reason the crane cab isnt permanently attached is because in transit the counterweight assembly would be removed (as pictured on the rear box art) and the cab rotated backwards to reduce the overall width of the vehicle. The removal of the country weights significantly reduces the weight (and size) of the vehicle to comply with regional road laws, and they'd be transported separately by another specialist multi-axle ballast truck. Hope that makes more sense. This is an awesome city set with great attention to detail, more of this please Lego!
It's weird how second half LEGO City sets are always so much better than first half releases for the last few years. It's been sad seeing LEGO Friends doing better City quality sets than City has been doing.
It's not the crane I wanted since we got a smaller one a couple years ago but these are definitely going on my must have list. Fantastic sets. Sometimes I think TLG think too hard about what kind of wacky gimmick they can do rather than focusing on just making good sets but lately they've been focusing more on the good and listening to what we want.
I feel functionality should be lower since it's impossible to turn the vehicle without dragging it on its wheels. Lego 7249 has this feature and they didn't add it in this one sadly. Other than that it looks great.
Lego city certainly has its up and downs and the last few years have certainly been pretty bad. This years though are pretty nice. I think in transport mode the control cab swings into a different position and the weights are transported separately.
Cool sets but why is Lego so obessed with representation? There should be zero female minifigs in these construction sites sets. Women dont work in construction sites.
Because if no representation snowflakes get mad. I'm sure there are females in construction. The most they can probably do is hold a sign. But yes 99% of ppl in that workforce are men.
Don't know about there being zero girls, but in recent years these near 50/50 quotas feel very inauthentic and slightly tiresome. I know "representation" is quite effective on girls though, they are more drawn to things that look like them, so it could be a marketing strategy to appeal to a wider audience, but I imagine its more about pushing "the message", it is Lego after all lol
I worked with women site engineers when I was building roads and bridges, as far back as the 1970s. In the 2000s when I was responsible for graduate civil engineers applying for professional qualifications, around a third of them in our company were female, and they worked on site as well as in our design offices.
I haven’t collected Lego in 10 years and decide to buy both these sets bought day one. Absolutely great to build. They remind me of the old mobile crane I had that at this point is almost 20 years old. Truly god tier sets. Also bought the Porsche rc car and the koeninsegg (butchered that spelling for sure). Might get the Audi e Tron set or the McLaren p1 next.
I think levers can be done better - lego had own lever pieces ... but that's just only minor flaw for me ... But sorry, I think lego using female minifigures too much ... I know bcs of today's world, but this isn't even real to have so much female workers on construction site ...
@@zig-y1v they are indeed, but on site construction works are around 1 in 100, and in overall construction (including engineers, administration and management) roughly 1 in 10, not even close 50/50. Lego is just pushing the realms of reality a bit, but it is just a toy at the end of the day lol
@@NitroNuggetTV if you think it’s about lego then you have missed the mark. The OP sounds like a ten year old or most likely a misogynist who doesn’t have a grasp on reality. Women’s numbers in the construction industry are growing and that’s how it is pure and simple.
The lego team actually cooked with those city sets. Lets hope they keep those standards up!
Yep! 👍🏻
It’s because of the designer

Now everything's clear! Thanks! 🙏🏻
I love the vibe and look of these, real nostalgia to the 2006 excavator and xxl crane, just properly modernised!
Totally agree with you! Do you have the 2006 one?
@@BIGFIGGYchannel i do! Got it cheaply second hand, love the size of it!
@@jerrie11 lucky you 🥹
The crane is inspired of the Liebherr Ltm 1750 thats one of the biggest of its kind and the excavator is probably of a Liebherr or a Volvo
Wish I knew this before making this video 😄
These should be in every legocity that is under construction
😁😁
These sets are awesome. I can’t wait for more construction. Vehicles.
I think these ones will sell so good that Lego will make more of them!
Thanks for the great review! the comedy was an added bonus 😁

Friends is sooooo good! 👍🏻
I knew I had to get them as soon as I saw them myself!
Have you already done it? 😉
A very detailed review thank you!
Thank you for watching! 🥰
Very informative and to the point, great review!
Thanks for your support!
Nice video, great montage!
Thanks! ❤
Cant wait for the next one
I enjoyed this video keep up the good work!

You missed the plates that go under the outriggers when they are extended.
Hi! Thank you for your comment! I've showed them in other part of the video - it just takes too much time to move them! ✌🏼
No worries 👍🏻
Defninetly great for modulars
Definitely!

lego city peaked around 2010 - 2012. glad its making a comeback
Those were really good years 🥹
The Liebherr Crane is so good, I think I need to buy it!
I really wish they’d make a lattice luffing jib for this crane.
Great content mate i love the new format
How well does it turn while driving? 😅
Oops 🤭
Hey random question-did it hae paperbags inside for the pieces
I was surprised, but they had plastic ones.
very nice video you just gained new subscriber :D
Thank you!🙏🏻
Nice set 👍💪😀
Very nice!
These 2 sets are actually pretty cool. Maybe 1x each for myself for building them and maybe 2-3 each more for keeping for later... ;-)
Sounds good 😅
When does #60409 come out?
It already has! 😄
@@BIGFIGGYchannel not in the US until August
The rule should be to keep the city set simple and make sense for a city.
You should work for Lego 💪🏻😄
@BIGFIGGYchannel yeah, no.
The semi truck they released really sealed the deal too, wish these sets were around when I was a kid 😭
The semi truck is also very, very good, however I hate the light blue front lights 😬

The Lego sets are fantastic, it's just that they are super expensive here in NZ. Gotta wait for a sale I think.
Price of these ones should become lower quite quickly
Ale duży, dźwig też spory

They were shipped by some smaller stores in Poland on 28.05.
