- Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, born on May 7, 1840, in Votkinsk, a small town in the Russian Empire, was a prolific and influential composer. He displayed early musical talent and received formal training at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, where he honed his skills in composition, harmony, and orchestration.
Tchaikovsky's compositions are characterized by their emotional depth, rich melodies, and masterful orchestration. His works often captured the essence of Russian culture while blending elements of Western classical music. Some of his most renowned pieces include "Swan Lake," "The Nutcracker," and "The Sleeping Beauty," which have become beloved staples of the ballet repertoire.
Throughout his life, Tchaikovsky faced numerous personal struggles, including bouts of depression and anxiety. His emotional turbulence often found expression in his music, creating a profound connection with audiences. Tchaikovsky's homosexuality, which was not widely accepted during his time, also added to his personal challenges.
Despite the trials he faced, Tchaikovsky's talent and dedication to his craft propelled him to international fame. His symphonies, concertos, operas, and ballets continue to be celebrated and performed worldwide. Notably, his Symphony No. 6, "Pathétique," composed shortly before his death, stands as a poignant testament to his emotional intensity and musical brilliance.
On November 6, 1893, Tchaikovsky passed away under mysterious circumstances, leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of the most significant composers of the Romantic era. His music endures as a profound expression of human emotion and artistic mastery, and his influence on subsequent generations of composers and musicians remains profound to this day.

TheAntiParadox Indeed!
TheAntiParadox sure seems like it.
TheAntiParadox comrade do you have listened to Heitor Villa Lobos ? You might like him . He is an extraordinary brazilian composer . Long live to your ideals!
PeterPedroPaulo I have, in fact, he is my favourite guitarist in history. His innovations in finger-picking truly transcend genre.
That said, Tchaikovsky's masterful blend of Russian folk styles and European classical music is unmatched throughout history.
Villa Lobos is great! Спасибо for the suggestion comrade!
One of the most creative, emotional and intelligent people to ever walk the face of this earth. Tchaikovsky was an absolute genius among others
I'm grateful that he shared his art with us.

0:00 Piano Concerto No. 1. 1st Movement.
Great selections! Really Tchaikovsky's best! But the piano concerto 1, movt.1 seems quite slow. Perhaps it's better if the English titles would also be given in the description. Thanks for this!

what is the song is around 31:00 called?
How can I get into classical music? There's so many albums just for one composer
Try these:
Beethoven 5th and 9th
"Devil's thrill sonata" in G minor Tartini
6th Tchaikovsky (not on this video)
Vivaldi "Four seasons"
"Ride of the Valkyeres" Wagner
Verdi (best of Verdi?)
"I Pagliacci" (opera)
Mozzart 25th and Lacrimosa
Any Bach's cello suite...
The list could go for all ages, but this should do.
add to:
Watch Gergiev-bolero and conducting with a toothpick (pretty sweet) then of course some Fryderyk Franciszek!!!! ..and if you find you like Bach, check Buxtehude.
pablo ramos i like your list
which it is the name of the 39:26 minute ??? please!!
tchaikovsky: June
What's the name of the song at 1:30:00?
From 0:12 to 0:whatever, the piano has a similar ring to Muse - Hoodoo (1:55 if you're interested). Did Muse sample the piece or is it just coincidence?
pandabear4321gogo no, Tchkaikovsky took it from Muse :P
It's possible. A lot of Matt's inspiration comes from classical music ;)
Léa Basso Thank you for a reasonable response, Hans Castorp you're not even intelligent, stop commenting on videos.
Hans Castorp "meh meh meh meh meh meh meeeeh" Nice one mate great insult, your parents have great pride in your chosen words... Keep trying. You done?
pandabear4321gogo That was so unnecessary hahaha

I know you asked this a real long time ago, but it's "June"
Also I sounded very familiar to me a well, and I believe you're thinking of Chopin's "Op. 15, No. 3 in G minor. Lento"
Cheers!

What's the piece at 52:20?
