Thanks for watching! Taphul Road has an amazing array of eateries and that’s why we come here on average about six nights a week. The choices in this single street are staggering. There are also three of Siem Reap’s biggest hitters in terms of local food: - Try Me Restaurant: goo.gl/maps/GMDMCGJzUgrkehKE8 - Madam Moch Khmer Restaurant: goo.gl/maps/oYG1poLRgvhCCm7g6 - My Little Cafe: goo.gl/maps/JgDpH7EQ6nbZt7pE7 All of these serve a great mix of Khmer and western food. Prices start at around $1.50 for vegetarian fried rice or vegetarian fresh spring rolls. Most dishes are around $3. You can also get juices, smoothies, 75 cent draft beers, cocktails - really anything that is available on Pub Street is available here, usually it’s better quality and for a lower price. Don’t miss out on this amazing food street when you visit Siem Reap.
Claire, Thank you for showing this alternative to Pub Street, and highlighting Khmer owned businesses. If I get to Siem Reap I’ll definitely check it out.
So awsome, Claire! 15 days till Cambodia and I'm more and more focused on doing good in Cambodia. 8 months and I can get the retirement visa. So can't wait to meet you and Jerememy! Big love and peace. Let's do some good..for Riel! lol
Being a bicycle person can't recommend Giant Bike highly enough, Ma n Pa business, good English, very helpful and knowledgeable. Mechanic has no English, but I have no Khmer, so we get on well...😁
Great video Claire, really interesting. Didn’t know any of those places as I have always eaten closer to the river…breakfast and lunch in the Old Market in my friend Ratha’s cafe with her mum and Dad and the 4 girls…only 3 last September. My choice…I’d eat at the East tan bul restaurant , love that food , always a treat. I eat salmon raw so I was always wary of the salmon in SR, but in PP my local friend took my to 2 restaurants that had very well priced oysters which we had a number of times., not sure where they were from. My trip to Cambodia in June is getting closer.
That's great, Gary - June isn't far away at all, and now you have some new restaurants to try. EASTanbul is definitely a treat and very enjoyable. Thanks so much for watching.
It's really good Claire that you are showing us Where's good to eat & drink at along with hotels etc. Hope to see more of these videos. We always like to know what's open. Thank you guys, as always 😊

I am glad u showed how expensive Cambodia is ….. a regular guest house room is 48 usd … plus a coffe is 6 usd …….. ---I went to Siem reap 6 years ago and was shocked at the short term prices. I stayed 2 months with my partner. Of course I paid to go see the temples. That was 100 usd per person per day plus hiring a ride and a tour guide. Again I was shocked at the prices……… I will say only 1 more thing …. I was 44 when I visited Siem reap,, one of the greatest adventures I have ever done…… not cheap they use USD.
You can get a regular guest house room for around $10 USD and coffee is around $1 USD. The temples can be a bit expensive because of the guide and tuktuk, but so worthwhile to see them that way. Thanks so much for watching!
Not sure how you booked but 6 to 10 us for a guest hous with ac and TV 40 to 60 us is quality hotel Do some research or ask on sites for local recommendations as for the temple tours yes expensive but I married a khmer lady so life is easy for me when I visit Cambodia
Yes, they can for the short term, e.g. people hire them to go to the temples. Not sure about longer term, but you could probably do a deal with one of the rental places, particularly in the low season.
Unfortunately, not everywhere on this street, but I would say Madam Moch and Try Me would be ok as they have wide entries and no step up from the footpath. The problem arises with all the motor, tuktuks, and cars parked everywhere making access harder.
Dumb question, what about toilets in the area or in the shops, if drinking coffee/beer etc it doesn't take long to go through ones system, hate to be walking 5ks back to accommodation busting.etc etc.

You can pay in USD and get Riel back or try a few money changers, check XE for the best rate. It is usually pretty close to that rate.
Claire, are there any good gyms in Siem Reap that have saunas? If not are there any stand alone saunas that one can visit post work out?
Unsure but I will try and do a Gym Vlog soon.

When you’re giving prices, is that USD?
Yes, always USD.
Try comman grounds cafe and maybe later me ican awesom restaurants
I've been to Common Grounds a few times because my book club meets there. Staff are lovely.
Not sure how you booked but 6 to 10 us for a guest hous with ac and TV
40 to 60 us is quality hotel
Do some research or ask on sites for local recommendations as for the temple tours yes expensive but I married a khmer lady so life is easy for me when I visit Cambodia
Men restaurants serve hearty breakfast for low cost … workers
Yes, I think that's what attracts the men! ;)
What about E bikes? Can they be hired as well?
Yes, they can for the short term, e.g. people hire them to go to the temples. Not sure about longer term, but you could probably do a deal with one of the rental places, particularly in the low season.
Wow much cheaper than Phnom Penh I think!!
Definitely, we have found food to be about 25% cheaper in SR.
Transition in Cambodia
1-Vireak Buntham express
2-Larita (Night bus)
3-Giant ibis
All is has applications in iOS android
Thank you. We like Mey Hong as well.
Wheelchair friendly?
Unfortunately, not everywhere on this street, but I would say Madam Moch and Try Me would be ok as they have wide entries and no step up from the footpath. The problem arises with all the motor, tuktuks, and cars parked everywhere making access harder.
Hi. Can you tell me where is the best Siem Reap BBQ street food located? Thx
Probably out at the 60 Road market. The stalls go for days.

Do we really need US dollars or they take local currency in these restaurants?
They except everything
So, going off the menu at 2:35… 10 000 = $2.50, is that American?
Yes, USD 😺

Dumb question, what about toilets in the area or in the shops, if drinking coffee/beer etc it doesn't take long to go through ones system, hate to be walking 5ks back to accommodation busting.etc etc.
Pretty much all the restaurants and cafes have toilets, so it's no problem!
